King of the Wilderness

Chapter 451: Chapter 248: Emily’s Wisdom

He was silent for a moment, then slowly began to speak, ”You are all right; Mountain Rat and Old Man’s Head have both performed impeccably. If I were merely a pure creator, I would have chosen them without hesitation.”

”But...” he changed his tone, ”what we need to consider now is not just feelings but also influence and the future.”

He looked at Aliya and Emily, explaining word by word, ”Mountain Rat and Old Man’s Head are brands on the altar; they serve the elite few at the top of the pyramid who truly understand.”

”Collaborating with them would maximize consolidating my position in the ’hardcore circle’, but it would be challenging to break out beyond that.”

”However, Archaeopteryx is different.” Awe and ambition flickered in his eyes, ”It has one foot on the altar and the other already stepping into the mass consumer market.”

”It’s the only brand that can make Wall Street executives, Silicon Valley programmers, Tokyo’s trendy youth, and outdoor players like us all willingly pay.”

”Choosing it means my influence can reach the widest and most diverse audience through its established global channels.”

”What I want to do in the future is not just filming videos; maybe documentaries, books, or even my own equipment brand. I need a megaphone, not an echo chamber. And Archaeopteryx is the loudest megaphone.”

This calm, clear, business-logical analysis left Aliya and Emily stunned. For the first time, they felt so clearly what a grand and shrewd business development blueprint lay behind Lin Yu’an’s seemingly indifferent exterior.

Aliya walked over, gently helped him straighten his collar, and her eyes were filled with love and a touch of rational clarity.

”Darling, your performance in the negotiation just now was impressive; we respect and support any decision you make,” she continued softly, ”but what’s next is a contract potentially worth tens of millions of US Dollars, and every clause could hide traps.”

Emily also put away her smile and nodded solemnly. ”Aliya is right. Marcus, even though he acts humble, is a businessman. There’s a high chance we could get caught up in his proposal if we look at it ourselves.”

”The previous brand ambassador contract had B-Station’s legal counsel providing support as Party C, but now we shouldn’t rely on platform-provided legal support anymore.”

Lin Yu’an’s smile gradually faded too, aware that the actual battle was just beginning. The upcoming contract negotiations were a real knife-edge division of interests.

He gazed at the vast, boundless snowfield outside the window, his eyes becoming profound, and slowly began to speak, ”You’re right, no matter how much I show off, it ultimately comes down to the contracts written in black and white.”

He turned to look at his two wives, his tone becoming incredibly serious, ”We need a professional team; first and foremost, we need a top-notch lawyer, an expert who truly understands North American entertainment and commercial contract law, who can arm our interests to the teeth.”

”He not only needs to see through the Archaeopteryx contract but also handle possible future contacts from Mountain Rat, Old Man’s Head, and even more brands.”

Lin Yu’an took out the satellite phone, preparing to search through his contacts for those he knew from before.

”Wait a minute, darling.”

Emily gently held his hand, stopping his action. Her eyes were clear and calm, shimmering with wisdom. ”Finding a lawyer is certainly a priority, but I think we might have a better angle.”

Lin Yu’an and Aliya looked at her curiously.

Emily organized her thoughts, analyzing clearly and logically, ”Think about it, our biggest leverage now, besides the videos themselves, is the vast influence brought by Justin Bieber. This favor is genuinely huge.”

”Do you think a top superstar like him would use his social media with 200 million followers to this extent just because he likes your videos?”

Lin Yu’an pondered for a moment, nodding slowly, ”You mean, he might also have his own motives?”

Emily quickly explained, ”I don’t think he has any malice; quite the opposite, I believe this is a signal for a mutually beneficial situation. You see, Bieber has been working hard to transform, shaking off the past label of a teenage idol and developing towards a more mature, deeper direction.”

”Having analyzed his song ’Recovery’, the commercial value isn’t immense, but it fully expresses his creative abilities. I think his recommendation might aim to showcase his creative talent to the world, showing the once brilliant young music genius.”

This analysis left Lin Yu’an and Aliya suddenly enlightened, thinking her analysis made perfect sense.

Emily continued, her thoughts increasingly clear, ”So, we can’t just comfortably accept this big gift; we must reciprocate. It’s about courtesy and maintaining and deepening this relationship.”

”So, what should we do?” Aliya asked.

Emily’s eyes glowed with confidence, ”I think we should proactively send an email to Bieber’s agent, Scooter Braun. First, express our sincerest gratitude.”

”Second,” she looked at Lin Yu’an, ”I suggest you take some time to write a long article, sincerely recounting how you became his fan and how his music provided strength and solace during your growth, especially in this wilderness. We can attach this article when we send it.”

”The most crucial third point,” Emily’s tone intensified.

”In the email, we must actively ask them; we really hope to express our gratitude to Justin publicly online, but we’re unsure what the appropriate way is and if it would cause him any unnecessary trouble.”

”So, we want to ask for the agent team’s professional advice and even ask them to review and edit our gratitude letter, seeing where it can better help Mr. Bieber craft the positive image he wants.”

”This...” Aliya was completely impressed by Emily’s idea.

This move was truly brilliant! It was equivalent to telling them we understand your intentions and are willing to fully cooperate with your PR strategy.

We’re not only grateful but also sensible and savvy, knowing how to maximize the value of this interaction.

Emily revealed a sly smile, ”Finally, at the end of the email, we can mention that various brands currently approach us. We’re in urgent need of a top commercial lawyer, but we’re not well-connected in this field. Could they perhaps recommend one?”

Emily assertively stated, ”Trust me, the individual they recommend will be much more reliable than those we find ourselves through blind searching. Additionally, they might be glad to lend a hand as this further tightens our connection.”

Lin Yu’an looked at Emily, filled with admiration and love in his eyes.

He set down the satellite phone and stepped forward, giving his clever wife a tight hug.

”Emily, you’re truly my treasure.” He sincerely praised, ”You’re right, maximizing the traffic from this interaction is what we should be focusing on right now.”

He let go of the embrace, stopped searching for the lawyer’s number, and instead sat down in front of the computer, beginning to draft the crucial email that would shape their future business landscape.

Lin Yu’an’s thoughts drifted back to the darkest, most desperate time in his past life.

It was after losing Aliya, on a rainy afternoon, he was aimlessly driving, and the radio randomly played the song ”Recovery” which he had never heard before.

At that moment, the profound regret in the lyrics, the longing for ”home”, and the plea for ”healing” unlocked all the emotions in his heart like a key.

He pulled over at the side of the road and cried in the car for a long time...

From that day on, this song became his painkiller.

But this emotional journey was destined to be something he couldn’t share with anyone; he had to process it appropriately. Eventually, he wrote a story titled ”A Song, A Recovery, A Cabin.”

He poured his most genuine personal emotions sincerely into his writing. The language of the email was professional, humble, and filled with sincerity.

He first expressed endless gratitude to Mr. Bieber for his support and sincerely requested professional guidance from the team on how to publicly thank him.

Finally, at the end of the email, he asked, in a consultative tone, for help in seeking top commercial legal advice.

After reviewing it several times to ensure there were no oversights, he took a deep breath and pressed send.

Subject: A Sincere Thank You from the Alaskan Wilderness - From Lin Yu’an

Recipient: Mr. Scooter Braun

Dear Mr. Braun,

Hello.

I am Lin Yu’an, the creator of the YouTube channel ”Lin Yu’an in the Wilderness.”

I venture to write to you in hopes of expressing my deepest and most sincere thanks to Mr. Justin Bieber through you, on behalf of myself and my family.

When I woke up one morning in Alaska, I discovered that my life had been transformed by Mr. Bieber’s generous recommendation.

What I felt was not just surprise, but a great, indescribable shock and honor.

This kindness from the other side of the world is the most precious and warmest gift we, as independent creators living in the wilderness, received this Christmas.

I can’t repay this great kindness, and perhaps the only thing I can do is share the story behind this kindness.

In my videos, I obsessively looped Mr. Bieber’s song ”Recovery.” This was not just a spur of the moment decision.

It is because this song has an extraordinarily special meaning to me personally. It accompanied me through one of the most challenging low points in my life.

The story is attached.

Once again, I thank Mr. Bieber, for not only understanding my video but also understanding the essence of rebuilding and healing behind it.

Also, I hope there is an opportunity to formally and publicly express my gratitude to Mr. Bieber on our social media platforms.

But I am well aware that as public figures, any public interaction requires extremely careful consideration.

I am unsure of the most appropriate way, and I absolutely do not wish to cause any unnecessary trouble for Mr. Bieber due to my lack of professionalism.

Therefore, we sincerely hope to request valuable advice from you and your professional team.

If possible, we even hope to submit our gratitude draft to you for review to ensure it positively and constructively enhances Mr. Bieber’s public image.

Lastly, there is an unwarranted request. This sudden immense attention has brought us numerous commercial collaboration opportunities, some involving highly complex international contracts.

My family and I lack experience in this area and are eagerly in need of a lawyer well-versed in North American commercial and entertainment law.

We are fully aware that you are at the top of your field and have met countless people, and we wonder if you could, at your convenience, recommend a couple of professionals you trust?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and a true lifesaver for us.

Again, thank you for everything you and Mr. Bieber have done. Looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes.

Sincerely, Lin Yu’an

In Alaska, Wiseman
