King of the Wilderness

Chapter 480: Chapter 268: Deeply Entangled Interests (Part 2)

He must demonstrate to these three old foxes, who have been immersed in the Vanity Fair for decades, a value far more scarce than that of an internet celebrity or an artist. This value must transcend talent, transcend traffic, and even transcend money itself.

He needs to cloak himself in a layer of mystery, an indestructible aura.

And the imminent GME event is the ”Oracle” in his hands. It’s his only recent chance to upgrade himself from an invested asset to an opportunity as an investor.

What he needs to do is not only to get a piece of the pie in this feast. He needs to reveal this ”Oracle” to them in a way full of mystery, where truth and falsehood are indistinguishable.

He wants to let them, in the repeated tug of war of doubt, speculation, greed, and fear, ultimately make a bet due to an irresistible temptation.

Only in this way, when the final results come to pass, the shock will penetrate their bones. They will redefine him from a lucky fellow to a strategic ally with mysterious channels and unfathomable backgrounds.

By then, his position in this alliance will be completely changed. The relationship with them will not be a simple contract, but a deeply bonded relationship that can bring them greater benefits.

Although there is a great risk in this benefit, Lin Yu’an believes that as long as there are benefits, these old Hollywood white men view risks as no more significant than a turkey dinner.

And GME is bait of greater weight than any contract, bait that will make them, in the years to come, every time they recall this cold night in Alaska, their hearts will race and be filled with awe!

With that thought, the last trace of hesitation in Lin Yu’an’s eyes disappeared completely, replaced by ironclad determination.

He rapidly constructed the entire plan in his mind.

He picked up the encrypted satellite phone, dialing the first number—Scoot.

”Lin? So late, is everything okay?” Scoot’s voice came through, slightly weary yet still sharp.

”Scoot, I’ll keep this short,” Lin Yu’an’s voice was calm, but with an undeniable force.

”I’m planning to invest all my Archaeopteryx signing fees, 3 million dollars, into an imminent battlefield. As my friend and agent, I think you should know about it.”

There was a two-second silence on the other end; Scoot was evidently caught off guard by this opening: ”Battlefield? Lin, what are you talking about?”

”GME, GameStop.” Lin Yu’an directly stated the code.

”I know to you, it seems like a company about to go bankrupt, a joke. But let me tell you, an epic level short squeeze is about to erupt in the coming weeks.”

”Lin, are you crazy?!” Scoot’s voice instantly became serious. ”That’s a trash stock hyped by a bunch of lunatics on Reddit! Melvin Capital has almost shorted it to delisting! Throwing 3 million into it won’t even make a splash!”

”No, Scoot. A stock shorted to 170% won’t delist; it will explode.” Lin Yu’an calmly stated a fact that could make any financier’s scalp tingle.

”I’m not asking for your opinion, I’m merely informing you of my decision. And offering you a friendly piece of advice.”

He deliberately emphasized the word ”friendly,” then his tone turned as casual as discussing the weather: ”If you have a few million US dollars of spare funds, the type you can lose and still sleep at night, I suggest you could play along.”

The hidden edge in this sentence made Scoot’s heart tremble. This was not the frenzy of a gambler, but more like someone with insider knowledge offering a guide.

He instinctively asked: ”Lin...where are you getting this information?”

Lin Yu’an chuckled lightly, his voice carrying a mysterious profundity: ”Scoot, the Wall Street elites always think they are the center of the world, but they forget there are many players they can’t see outside the poker table.”

He paused, seeming to ponder his words, then slowly said: ”You know, I always meet some interesting friends in the wilderness. Some from China, some from Russia.”

”They don’t like to think in US Dollars, they prefer...other ways. In their eyes, this GME event is not just a financial game, it’s a superb opportunity to shake Wall Street’s credibility system.”

”China and Russia?” Scoot felt his brain couldn’t handle the massive influx of information. This went beyond business, sounding more like politics and intelligence networks!

He immediately realized the enormous risk, stating with a firm and professional tone: ”Lin, my friend, I’ve heard nothing! You never called me tonight! Enjoy your hunting in Alaska!”

He was about to hang up, but then heard Lin Yu’an speak in a quieter, yet more penetrating voice: ”Scoot, hanging up is easy.”

Scoot’s finger froze over the hang-up button.

”You can treat this as an illusion, a crazy dream talk from Alaska,” Lin Yu’an’s voice was unhurried, ”you can continue being the top-notch, most professional, safest agent, always right, never making mistakes.”

”But, in three weeks,” Lin Yu’an’s tone slightly intensified, ”when you see GME’s stock price break three hundred, four hundred, even five hundred US dollars, when you see on the news Melvin Capital blowing up, countless short sellers bleeding rivers...”
