King of the Wilderness

Chapter 479: Chapter 268: Deeply Entwined Interests

Lin Yu’an witnessed the mania of his previous life firsthand.

On January 22nd, the famous short-selling firm Citron Research surrendered, and the stock price surged to 76 US Dollars.

On January 26th, a tweet from Elon Musk poured a barrel of jet fuel on this raging fire!

Then came those two days, January 27th and 28th, the craziest 48 hours in human financial history.

The stock price soared into the sky with an anti-gravity stance, 350 US Dollars...480 US Dollars...

At that time, in Canada, Lin Yu’an witnessed his boss’s account liquidation due to shorting GME, roaring despairingly in the meeting room like trapped beasts.

He would never forget the moment worthy of the annals, when the brokerage platform Robin Hood brazenly cut the connection, forbidding retail investors to buy, how the whole market plunged from its peak.

For him, that storm was a lifelong unforgettable live lesson about humanity and capital.

He was not an insider, just a humble witness.

But now, it’s January 1st, 2022, and the script of history lies quietly before him, waiting for him, the only prophet, to make the move deciding victory or defeat!

After making the final family decision, Lin Yu’an wasted no time. He kissed Aliya and Emily’s foreheads, then walked into the study alone and closed the door.

Lin Yu’an didn’t turn on the light, just stood quietly in the dark, letting his thoughts sink into the turbulent ocean of capital.

He knew that 13 million US Dollars were not just his wealth. If it were only about making money, he had countless more stable and secure ways.

He recalled Marcus Chen’s seemingly passionate but actually overlooking stance. He remembered when Scoot and Brian demonstrated before him through private planes, LV Group, showcasing their connections and platform strength.

He felt like a dwarf invited to a banquet by giants, though dressed lavishly and seated at the table, the food on the plate was still decided by the giants.

Even though the contract with CAA, Scoot’s strategic planning, Brian’s connections, Matty’s Thunderbolt means, opened a door for him to the world’s power center.

Yet he also understood clearly that behind this door, he remained the weakest, most rootless newcomer.

Their collaboration currently only rested on a business contract. Scoot saw his future potential, Brian valued the Chinese market behind him, Matty appreciated the challenge and profit of the case he brought.

All of this is based on ”interests”!

And relationships starting from interests are most prone to ending due to interests.

Lin Yu’an was well aware that once in the future he couldn’t continuously create value meeting their expectations, or if a more potential newcomer emerged.

This seemingly steadfast iron triangle alliance would marginalize him without hesitation, even discard him.

Binding is too shallow! Because it’s flimsy, they could withdraw their goodwill at any time, kick him away anytime due to changing interests.

This feeling of fate being controlled by others is truly frustrating!

Therefore, what he needs is no longer simple wealth accumulation, but a ticket that can truly let him board Noah’s Ark in front of the shark group at CAA, not just a ticket to the Ark’s animal hold.

What he needs is to transform himself into capital that compels Scoot to dialogue with him as an equal partner, not a mere potential stock.

He must become powerful enough that titans like CAA must consider opportunity costs when negotiating with him.

He doesn’t want to always be the chosen, the appraised product. He wants to be the Player holding chips, setting rules!

But he also knew, relying solely on his current strength was far from enough to become the rules. A mere brand ambassador, in this cold world constructed by capital, without strength, so-called happiness is like a castle on the sand, easily swept away by waves.

At the capital’s poker table, he didn’t even qualify as the smallest Player. Trying to accumulate capital for a peer dialogue with Scoot, LVMH through traditional asset appreciation methods, would take at least several years, possibly longer. He didn’t have that much time.

Thus, he planned to construct his war-chariot, deciding to leverage an already refueled, imminent out-of-control war-chariot.

GME is this perfect war-chariot! Its fuel isn’t merely his meager 13 million US Dollars, but the anger and resentment of countless ordinary people against Wall Street, accumulated over decades.

He’s not an initiator of this war, not even the main force. What he must do is ride the momentum!

Ride the momentum of this ”People’s War” initiated by countless rabble, destined for the annals. What he must borrow is the trend of the era, the trend of the people’s will!

He can perfectly conceal himself within this tidal wave named the era of retail investors, with his funds becoming a part of the propulsion but unnoticed by anyone.

He must leverage this tide, to drag CAA, Scoot, Matty, these three prehistoric Hollywood crocodiles, completely into the water from just commercial cooperation!

But how to do it? Tell them the truth straightforwardly? Tell them he’s a Reincarnator? That would only make them see him as a lunatic. Give them a simple stock code? That would at most make them consider him a lucky friend.
