Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 1995: Chapter 1548: Two Sides Interested in Each Other

Ruby candidly confessed to Bai Xiaosheng and the others, admitting that he was ”acting under someone else’s orders,” and the person instructing him, the so-called ”mastermind behind the scenes,” was none other than Daisy’s master—Mr. Meifu!

This also explained why when the group of dark-skinned men mistreated Daisy, Ruby had to harshly deal with them!

Because if he didn’t handle them, and Mr. Meifu later found out and got angry, then Ruby would be the one in trouble!

The group of dark-skinned men was truly unlucky; had they known that Mr. Meifu was interested in Daisy, they wouldn’t dare lay a finger on her even with ten times the courage. They might even grovel pathetically, begging for money...

Of course, if it really came to that, they wouldn’t be able to accomplish their oppression of Daisy...

In Ruby and Daisy’s words, the term ”master” has a slightly different meaning from that in the domestic context; it’s not that Daisy is the other’s slave, but due to some historical reasons, it’s a customary term here where servants habitually refer to their employers as ”master,” and it’s widely accepted in society.

At this moment, Ruby’s open revelation was actually meant to let Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying, two Huaxia people connected to the Qin Family, understand—

Don’t assume that just because you have connections with the Qin Family, you can interfere in this matter!

Regarding Mr. Meifu, who is fond of Daisy, his background is even more formidable! After all, even the Patriarch of the Qin Family has to give face to Meifu’s brother-in-law!

This is not something that their acquaintance with a junior of the Qin Family can compare to.

Of course, Bai Xiaosheng’s connection with the Qin Family is still somewhat tricky for Ruby. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had to bring out the ”big boss” backing him directly.

Upon learning the identity of the person behind the scenes, Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying were quite shocked.

Of course, they were surprised that Meifu’s brother-in-law was actually the head of Zhenbei Group’s South America Division in the Greater China Region.

This kind of surprise was unrelated to fear or dread. After all, even if he was a division president, his rank was only slightly higher than Bai Xiaosheng.

Besides, since when has Bai Xiaosheng ever been afraid of anyone!

Upon hearing it was Mr. Meifu’s instructions, Daisy’s reaction seemed surprisingly calm, neither shocked nor angry.

However, combining what she said, Bai Xiaosheng still discerned some clues from her micro-expressions.

It’s not that Daisy wasn’t angry; she just didn’t show it, or rather, she suppressed it.

For a long time, Mr. Meifu has been entangled with Daisy, probably just short of forcing her. Daisy knows a lot about his character, understanding that although he appears as a brilliant mogul in public, behind the scenes he is a completely different kind of person!

That he’d do such a thing didn’t ”surprise” Daisy.

However, as a servant, if Daisy were to expose the matter, she’d merely draw criticism for the master, making it difficult to find work in the future!

Moreover, Meifu’s identity, status, wealth, and external ”image” were not something a small figure like Daisy could ”tarnish.”

Additionally, Ruby is Meifu’s man, which made Daisy wary and afraid to express her anger lightly. After all, her brother’s whereabouts were a mystery and in the opponent’s grasp. If she acted out of anger and recklessly cursed, it might implicate her brother.

She herself was further bound by the labor contract, with at least half a year remaining before she could terminate the employment relationship without ”sufficient” reason, lest she face enormous compensation.

Most importantly, anger and cursing wouldn’t solve the problem.

So, Daisy held back with all her might.

Of course, beneath this restraint, there was a trace of despair in Daisy’s eyes.

The difference in strength between the two sides was truly too great, one high above, one a commoner. If Mr. Meifu decided to use force, she would have no means, no resistance.

In fact, all of this, even including this debt and defamation drama, was likely just a ”cat and mouse game” Meifu was playing, wanting to see her driven to despair, wanting her to bow down and willingly offer herself.

For someone like Meifu, who is wealthy, this was undoubtedly a very stimulating game.

Daisy felt at this moment that she could no longer hold out...

Daisy, weakly, glanced at Bai Xiaosheng, wanting to express her gratitude to this kind-hearted person from Huaxia, and then tell him not to concern himself with this matter anymore.

Since there’s no way to change the situation, why drag others down...

But she didn’t know that Bai Xiaosheng, on the contrary, appreciated her more. For a long time, Meifu hadn’t succeeded; Daisy’s firm refusal moved Bai Xiaosheng deeply.

In this world, how many women willingly throw themselves at wealthy men, wanting to marry into a rich family, transform from sparrows into phoenixes.

Such a resolute girl, refusing to sell herself, refusing to become a plaything, was rare.

”I must help her,” Bai Xiaosheng thought to himself.

At this moment, Ruby was smiling smugly. He looked at Bai Xiaosheng, at Lei Ying, his eyes filled with sarcasm.

Huaxia Kung Fu is very powerful indeed!

You all fight very well!

And you’re acquainted with the Qin Family here!

But, none of that matters!

Once Mr. Meifu makes a move, you’re nothing but ants! Not worth mentioning!

Ruby really felt on top of the world.

”Mr. Meifu, quite a formidable figure!” Bai Xiaosheng remarked slowly under everyone’s watchful eyes.

Now that he knew Mr. Meifu couldn’t be provoked, he should act wisely! Ruby thought to himself.

Facing Bai Xiaosheng, Ruby laughed and said, ”My young gentleman, now that you know Mr. Meifu cares for Miss Daisy, you should let it go. Even your friend from the Qin Family wouldn’t want to get involved in this matter, so why make things difficult for your friend? Besides, Mr. Meifu genuinely cares for Miss Daisy, so why should you outsiders interfere without reason?”
