Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 1982: Chapter 1541: Unfavorable Visit

Bai Xiaosheng only woke up just before the plane landed. His seat was near the airplane’s window, and outside the sun was shining brightly; it was morning.

Bai Xiaosheng had just had a full sleep, which counted as adjusting to the time difference in advance.

In fact, for Bai Xiaosheng, whether it’s working overnight for consecutive days or sleeping for an entire day, he could do it effortlessly.

Being young means adapting quickly.

At most, he would let Red Lotus help adjust various hormones in his body, stimulate or stabilize organ functions slightly, so the body could adapt to most situations.

At this time, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying were also awake, their spirits were just as good. After a long flight of over ten hours, they had also adjusted their time in advance, forcing themselves to sleep, adjusting to the time difference on the plane.

Although the two of them didn’t have the assistance of Red Lotus like Bai Xiaosheng, they had also developed these abilities during their long-term travels with Bai Xiaosheng.

After the plane successfully landed, there was suddenly a burst of enthusiastic applause from the economy class at the back. Even in the business class, some people smiled and clapped, with some even cheering along.

Bai Xiaosheng was drawn to it, but he wasn’t too curious. Instead, he smiled and clapped along.

Clapping when the flight lands might feel a bit inexplicable in the mainland, but it’s indeed a ”habit” on some flights in several European and American countries. There’s no need for surprise; it’s possibly just an expression of joy for a smooth journey.

After this small interlude, the plane passengers disembarked in an orderly manner.

The three of Bai Xiaosheng took their belongings, followed the crowd out, and entered the airport.

Upon entering the airport hall, the three of Bai Xiaosheng were filled with emotion.

After taking flights frequently at home, there was no feeling of anything particularly special in the airport halls, but once outside, there’s a genuine sense that foreign waiting lounges are not as good as ours. Even those in some developed countries in Europe and America seemed a bit old-fashioned...

This time, no one was there to pick up the three of them.

Bai Xiaosheng arrived without notifying the head of Zhenbei Group’s South America Division in advance.

For one, Bai Xiaosheng thought to first meet Madam Qin and Qin Xiaoyao. Secondly, with Bai Xiaosheng having pulled in cooperation from two major families in Xianggang, the originally planned business delegation had some members who were too busy to be dispatched, needing a few more days of delay.

Bai Xiaosheng decided to come first, ”conceal” his whereabouts, and take it as an opportunity to understand the real situation here in advance, which would facilitate having a well-informed negotiation when discussing cooperation later.

After all, not every head of a division is as enthusiastic and eager as Soruns, who eagerly reached out to them multiple times during cooperation, even willing to concede some benefits.

This past year, as the results of cooperation became more apparent, whenever Soruns was mentioned, Bai Xiaosheng would always jest to Xiahou Qi that if it hadn’t been a win-win for everyone in the end, making gains all around, one might really think Soruns had some ”ulterior motive” in making such a losing deal for Zhenbei Group, directed at him, Bai Xiaosheng.

However, this kind of ”ulterior motive” felt more like assisting him, Bai Xiaosheng.

If all ”ulterior motives” were of this kind, then Bai Xiaosheng would not mind having as many as possible...

The three of them made their way out of the airport, viewing the exotic landscape around them.

The air in this coastal city was quite fresh, which Bai Xiaosheng and the others found delightful.

”Sheng, where are we headed now?” Lin Weiwei asked, ”To the Qin family?”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded and straightforwardly said, ”To the Qin family!”

A little over a year ago, in the Luo family household, Bai Xiaosheng met Madam Qin and Qin Xiaoyao, who extended multiple invitations to him, young and old.

Madam Qin was an elder Bai Xiaosheng had known from the Wei family, a friend of Wei Xuelian’s grandfather, Wei Tianhe.

Hence, coming to South America this time, Bai Xiaosheng naturally should visit them first.

At present, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions were in New Orleans, the top city in South America, but the Qin family was not in this city. Instead, they were in a burgeoning city two hours away from here—Bruleila. This two-hour journey was not by car but rather by rail transit. An intercity high-speed rail connected the two cities, with speeds reaching three hundred kilometers per hour. This high-speed rail was built by a Huaxia company, with its largest investor being the Qin family. Rather than staying in the metropolis of New Orleans, the Qin family had taken up substantial industry in this emerging city.

Bai Xiaosheng, with Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, took a cab to the high-speed rail station nearby.

Once there, the three felt very much at home. After all, it was a project constructed by Huaxia people, which made every detail feel familiar and the architecture was of a high standard.

Indeed, Huaxia’s ”architectural skills” are almost maxed out; claiming the second place globally, no one would dare claim the first.

The three bought tickets and boarded the train, heading all the way to Bruleila.

One section of the high-speed rail journey even offered views of the vast ocean. The clear water, white sands, coconut groves casting shadows, made for a pleasant sight.

The two-hour journey was neither short nor long. In fact, in those major cities in Huaxia, the downtown commuters often take longer than this commuting from the suburbs to the city, switching from subway to other transit.

More than two hours later, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions arrived in Bruleila—a new city brimming with Huaxia flair everywhere.

”Years ago, if a foreign city had a Chinatown, that was the result of many years of struggle by the Chinese people, whereas now, streets can’t even match the grandeur, as a brand new city blending Chinese and Western cultures!” Bai Xiaosheng marveled.

Whether it’s the Wei family, the Luo family, or the Qin family, they all showcased the intellect and strength of the Chinese descendants to the world.

Soon, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions found the Qin family residence, which also had the feel of a ”city within a city.”

Taking out the token given by Madam Qin, the three of Bai Xiaosheng received a very warm welcome. However, a butler who came specially to greet them explained with deep regret that Madam Qin and Qin Xiaoyao had gone to Hawaii for a vacation a week ago. They would be back in three or four days at the earliest.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions had come for nothing this time.

The overly enthusiastic butler invited the three to stay, saying he had already contacted the followers over there, asking them to report to the Madam, assuring that they would get a response soon.

Bai Xiaosheng politely declined and left the gifts they brought—a pair of top-quality purple clay teapots, a calligraphy piece, and an exquisite Suzhou Embroidery—then took Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying to bid farewell.

The butler earnestly urged them to stay for a meal, but was turned down, hence personally escorted them out.

The people of the Qin family, seeing the three Huaxia individuals being treated this way, all looked at them with curious eyes.

Bai Xiaosheng insisted on leaving, after all, the hosts weren’t even there, so it made no sense for the three of them to stay.

After leaving the Qin family, Bai Xiaosheng and his two companions strolled around Bruleila for some time, and by noon, they enjoyed a meal of local specialty cuisine, feeling quite content, before taking the subway to travel back to New Orleans.

By the time the afternoon rolled around, the three were back in New Orleans and found a five-star hotel to stay in.

This hotel had restaurants and cafes, all equipped with large floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing one to view the city while sipping coffee.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions went to the cafe to rest and discuss their next plans.

Since it wasn’t feasible to visit the Qin family, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying suggested changing their plans, meeting the head of the South America Division first, conducting their assessments, and then having the business group from home rush over, similar to the situation with the European tour.

Bai Xiaosheng weighed the proposal and found it made sense.

Just as this idea was set, Lin Weiwei flipped through the most recent newspaper on the table at random, saw a piece of news, and paused, startled.

Then, she looked up with an odd expression and smiled bitterly saying, ”Sheng, our timing of arrival could not be better! These days are simply not suitable for visits!”

Bai Xiaosheng was sipping his coffee, listening to Lin Weiwei, and paused in surprise, asking, ”What happened?”

Lei Ying was also curious and looked at Lin Weiwei.

”You guys take a look yourselves.” Lin Weiwei spread open the newspaper, pointing to a news article.

Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying looked over, and upon reading the headline, they were also taken aback.

”Mr. Highter, head of the Zhenbei Group South America Division, is attending a North American business forum and will return to New Orleans in about a week and hold a grand commercial signing event then...”

Another one not ”home”?

Even Bai Xiaosheng was taken aback, muttering to himself, ”We really should consult the almanac before we go out!”

”This is a trip of unfavorable visits!”
