Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 1988: Chapter 1545: Cool for Only Three Seconds

The taxi finally came to a stop by the roadside, at the end of this road was the entrance to a manor, where armed guards with hunting dogs were looking around.

Just a moment ago, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions did see the taxi that carried Daisy leave from here.

”Sorry, you two will have to get off here,” the taxi driver Ayuo smiled at Bai Xiaosheng and his friend.

Bai Xiaosheng glanced ahead, ”It’s about a hundred meters from here to there, are you just going to leave us here?”

”No way, you are exaggerating!” Ayuo chuckled, ”It’s only a few dozen meters. I dare not go further. It’s not allowed to park just anywhere in front of Mr. Ruby’s place.”

Bai Xiaosheng decided not to argue further, ”Wait here for us for a while, we’ll ride back in your car, same fare as when we came.”

Ayuo’s eyes lit up but he said, ”But sir, waiting requires a tip too...”

”I’ll settle that with you later,” Bai Xiaosheng said indifferently as he pushed the door open to get off the car.

Lei Ying also got out from the back seat.

Ayuo smiled and turned off the engine.

This big deal today is pretty good, means I can get off early...

”Just go straight over like this?” After getting off, Lei Ying stood next to Bai Xiaosheng and asked softly.

”Do you think we two have any problem?” Bai Xiaosheng countered.

Lei Ying looked at the entrance over there, mumbling, ”Here, unlike back home, holding weapons legally is allowed.”

That’s a bit troubling! Bai Xiaosheng thought to himself.

”But I assure you, if they dare move with fire, no one will be able to stand!” Lei Ying’s lips curled into a cold smile.

Lei Ying spoke with such confidence that it made people trust him immensely.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled lightly, then stepped forward directly toward the manor.

At this moment, the hall of the manor was brightly lit.

At a large table, people were seated on three sides, with a dealer dealing cards on the fourth side.

The host of the table was a man with brown skin and a hooked nose, he was the owner of this manor, Mr. Ruby.

Mr. Ruby was currently playing cards with others, being accompanied by stunning beauties, while two tall bodyguards stood behind him.

Those two guards were one black-skinned and one white-skinned, looking like black-and-white phantoms, dressed in suits, wearing sunglasses, with bulging waists, seemingly carrying weapons.

The black-faced man was with Daisy, standing near the door, waiting for Mr. Ruby and others to finish this round of cards.

Daisy had been waiting for several minutes, and her expression was somewhat anxious. Except for when she entered, Mr. Ruby had glanced at her, but afterward, he paid her no attention, which she found very discomforting.

”Mr. Ruby, is my brother really here?” Daisy couldn’t help but speak up.

Beside her, the black-faced man hurriedly raised a finger, repeatedly gesturing for Daisy to be silent, but Daisy paid no mind.

Mr. Ruby continued chatting and laughing, as if he hadn’t heard anything.

”Mr. Ruby!” Daisy called out loudly again.

This time, the card players couldn’t help but look over, and Mr. Ruby seemed disrupted, displeasedly shuffled the cards back, tossed them to the table along with his losing interest, and waved to the playmates beside him.

Those people immediately left with tact.

Mr. Ruby lit a cigar, calmly took a puff.

Servants gathered around, clearing away the table and chairs.

”Miss Daisy, welcome, welcome!” Mr. Ruby grinned at Daisy, revealing several gold teeth, asking politely, ”What did you just say again? I seemed to hear you say you want to pay me back?”

”You heard wrong! I’m asking if my brother is here with you?” Daisy replied seriously.

Ruby tilted his head, seriously sized up Daisy, and chuckled, ”This little girl has quite some courage, dare to talk to me like that, has personality! No wonder I heard that your bosses really like you!”

This remark made Daisy quite displeased.

”Your brother is not here, but I really do know where he is heading!” Ruby said with a cigar clamped in his mouth, raising his hand, ”Siberia, vast and sparsely populated, rich in coal resources but few people around, I sent him to learn coal mining skills. If he works for a few years, it should cover the interest on the debt he owes me.”

Daisy was startled.

She knew her brother vanished after telling her he owed Mr. Ruby a large debt, his whereabouts became a mystery.

Mr. Ruby might really know he’s there.

But listening to Mr. Ruby saying this, she found it incredibly unreliable...

”I heard you brought jewelry to match the amount he owes me, so I asked them to invite you over.” Ruby laughed and asked, ”They weren’t rude to you, were they, Miss Daisy?”

Upon hearing this, the black-faced man standing by Daisy immediately looked somewhat nervous, gazing at Daisy.

He was kind of afraid that Daisy would report him.

”If punch and kick are considered not rude, then nothing was wrong.” Daisy snorted coldly.

This caused Ruby’s smile to slightly stiffen, his eyes becoming colder as he glanced at the black-faced man.

He seemed to be quite perturbed by Daisy’s treatment.

”Mr. Ruby, that’s not how it was! She made a move first, she kicked me, she even ran, my men couldn’t stand watching and slapped her twice...” the black-faced man hurried to explain, ”However, we didn’t hit the face...”

The black-faced man hadn’t finished speaking when Ruby stopped his words.

”Truly a bunch of lowly bastards, treating such a beautiful lady, my guest, so rudely!” Ruby said with a foul expression, gesturing with his fingers to the people beside him.

A hefty Black man immediately leaned over.

”Go get someone to break the legs of those bastards who started the fight, let them learn a lesson! This constant violence won’t do, my reputation is damaged, all because of them!” Ruby grumbled in his tone.

The Black bodyguard said nothing, only nodded, and when he looked up at the Black-faced man, two other bodyguards were already dragging him out.

The Black bodyguard then stepped over to oversee the execution.

”Mr. Ruby, you can’t do this! I’m loyal and working for you too, Mr. Ruby...” The Black-faced man’s face turned pale as he was dragged away, shouting.

Daisy watched this scene in disbelief; she hadn’t expected the situation to develop like this.

Mr. Ruby was standing up for her, ”avenging” her?

At this moment, Mr. Ruby touched his nose, smiled at Daisy, and said gently, ”You’ve been startled, I apologize on his behalf. Now, you should hand over the valuable goods you’re carrying to me, right?”

Facing the capricious Mr. Ruby, Daisy felt a chill rise in her heart.

However, she remained fairly calm.

”That’s my master’s property, Mr. Ruby should know his identity and status, taking it means even for you, it will be a huge trouble,” Daisy emphasized.

”I have channels to sell the stuff without leaving a trace of trouble for me. I appreciate your concern, Miss Daisy,” Ruby said warmly. ”My people here are tight-lipped, no one will snitch, otherwise I’ll bury them. That stuff eventually goes missing from you, the trouble won’t be on me, but you!”

Ruby shrugged, ”But you can make up for it to your master yourself.”

”If you can’t afford it, you could use yourself as collateral.” Ruby added with a smile.

Daisy remained silent.

Mr. Ruby wasn’t impatient, waiting for a response.

But then Daisy laughed.

”It’s really a shame, Mr. Ruby.” Daisy spread her hands, with an air of helplessness, smiling, ”The goods aren’t on me! If you don’t believe me, you can have the women over there search me!”

Ruby frowned slightly.

Daisy even carefreely opened her arms, smiling, ”Do you think I’d come here with something so valuable? Falling into your trap? No, I already handed it over to my friends for safekeeping! They are two very skilled Asians, to be precise, Huaxia people; they know martial arts! If you ask your subordinate from earlier, he must know, because he has tasted their prowess!”

Ruby’s smile vanished, staring into Daisy’s eyes, seemingly wanting to see if she was lying.

”That’s not right, I heard you barely know those Huaxia people, you didn’t know each other before, how could you be friends! You’re deceiving me!” Mr. Ruby snorted coldly.

The Black-faced man had mentioned some situations over the phone before coming back, mentioning the troublesome Huaxia people, so Mr. Ruby was aware.

”I got their contact, and while they were unguarded, slipped the stuff into the woman’s bag.” Daisy said seriously, as if it were true, ”The item is packaged in a way that’s quite disguised; even if opened, it’s hard to tell what it is at first glance. Besides, I trust their integrity.”

In reality, she had no way of contact Bai Xiaosheng and the others, nor could she silently place the item in Lin Weiwei’s bag.

”Is that really so?!” Ruby’s eyes turned somewhat ominous.

This little thing is causing so much fuss!

”Did you think I’d come unprepared? Not only did I secretly place the thing with them, but I also told them I was coming to you, and if I didn’t call them in half an hour, they’d report to the police and contact my master! By then, I can pay them, and they’ve agreed!” Daisy said proudly.

This girl is incredibly clever; she lies with such confidence, her eyes don’t even blink, it seems more real than real.

Ruby furrowed his brow deeply.

Daisy smiled calmly and said, ”I can very responsibly tell you, besides me, no one knows where they live, and they wouldn’t appear easily!”

Daisy was threatening Mr. Ruby in return, and the latter furrowed his brows deeply too.

Indeed, finding those Huaxia people at night is nearly impossible!

After all, New Orleans is so big!

Even if they hide in some small inn, it’s extremely hard to deal with!

People from Huaxia either don’t care about others’ affairs or, if they do, they’re very responsible.

Reporting to the police is a hassle, notifying Daisy’s master... even more so!

Mr. Ruby couldn’t help but feel a sense of helplessness.

Just then, a servant rushed into the hall.

”Mr. Ruby, there are people outside asking for you,” said the servant, ”It’s two Huaxia people; they say they’re friends of Miss Daisy.”

This statement made Ruby freeze at once.

Daisy also froze.

She had just confidently threatened Ruby, but in the blink of an eye, her bluff was broken?

This is simply, cool for less than three seconds.

Ruby grinned with his gold teeth showing, smiled at Daisy, but spoke for the servant, ”You go, bring them in!”

Then, Mr. Ruby joyfully corrected his previous statement, ”No, invite them in!”

Daisy’s expression instantly turned somewhat ugly, she almost wanted to stamp her foot secretly.

What’s going on, how could those Huaxia people turn up!

Now she is in big trouble, and those two Huaxia are in big trouble too!

You have to understand, this is Ruby Manor!

What they’ll be facing is Mr. Ruby!
