This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

However, thinking of the pitiful appearance of the child on the sickbed, Du Heng simply felt sorry for the child.

Since Du Heng arrived early, only the pediatric patient and his parents were in the hospital room at this time.

”How is the child now?” Du Heng approached, looked at the still-sleeping child, and asked softly.

The moment the child’s parents saw Du Heng, they grew excited, and both stood up simultaneously. They recognized Du Heng; they knew the medicine from yesterday had been prescribed by the doctor standing before them.

The child’s father, who looked to be about the same age as Du Heng, slightly lowered his head and bowed his waist a little, saying, ”Last night, the child’s high fever completely subsided, and his breathing became stable. However, during the latter half of the night, the child was in severe pain. He didn’t sleep much and only fell asleep at dawn.”

Du Heng frowned slightly. ”Was the pain severe?”

The couple exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with worry and sorrow. ”Very painful. He was crying throughout the latter half of the night.”

Du Heng fell silent, standing still for a good while before finally sighing softly and taking the child’s wrist.

Although Director Ge and the others were not present at this time, Du Heng had no choice but to do the Check-up himself.

He didn’t have any more time to waste here; several patients with the Bayberry virus were waiting for him at the Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

After checking the child’s pulse, Du Heng said softly, ”Don’t disturb the child. Let him sleep for a while; he’ll be fine when he wakes up on his own.”

After speaking, Du Heng prepared to go to Director Ge’s office. However, just as he turned to leave, the child’s father called out to him, ”Doctor, this... this... how is my child now?”

With the child’s attending doctor not present, Du Heng hesitated for a moment. But it was only for an instant before he turned his head and said, ”The child’s condition is under control. Don’t worry. I’ll go communicate with Director Ge now. When they start their work shift, the child’s medicine will be delivered.”

Du Heng left the hospital room. Just as he reached the entrance to Director Ge’s office, his phone rang in his pocket. He glanced at it, rejected the call, then knocked and entered the office.

”President Du, I was just calling you. I didn’t expect you to have arrived already.”

”I just went to check on the child’s condition.”

”I was just about to discuss this situation with you, President Du. Since you’ve already seen the child, I won’t elaborate.” Director Ge gestured for Du Heng to sit and then continued, ”So, President Du, what are your thoughts on the child’s subsequent treatment?”

Du Heng sat on an empty chair and, while speaking, opened his bag. ”The child’s condition has been effectively contained. We can consider changing the house for treatment. As for the medication, you can refer to my previous house. However, this child has spleen-stomach deficiency-cold, poor appetite, and loose stools. Therefore, the ophiopogon in the previous prescription should be removed and replaced with donkey-hide gelatin. It has the same effects of nourishing blood, nourishing yin, moistening dryness, and stopping bleeding. Moreover, this child is a bit younger than the one I treated previously, so the dosage should also be reduced accordingly.”

While speaking, Du Heng had already taken a pen and paper from his bag and began to write swiftly as he continued to explain.

After finishing writing, Du Heng pushed the house to Director Ge. He didn’t ask whether Director Ge would use it or not. As for why this house could be used again, Du Heng offered no further explanation.

After pushing the house over, Du Heng mentioned he had matters to attend to at his workplace and then turned and left.

Director Ge, holding the prescription, looked utterly bewildered. He couldn’t understand it, but Du Heng hadn’t given him a chance to ask. He could only stare blankly at the prescription. After quite some time, he called Deputy Director Cai, asking him to come over quickly.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Du Heng went straight to Gao Qin and asked her to take him to the hospital room to check on Yu Zhiwei and Qi Xiaoqing’s conditions.
