This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Yu Zhiwei’s lips quivered. ”There’s no hidden meaning here. If you’re sick, you seek treatment; that’s all there is to it. But remember not to throw mud at me. I am not a fool.”

Yu Zhiwei’s icy and detached attitude caught the woman off guard for a moment. However, for some unknown reason, she bristled. ”Mr. Yu, you infected me. Are you attempting to turn the tables now?”

Yu Zhiwei shifted uneasily. ”I agree to a divorce if that’s what you want. But you can’t pin all the blame on me just to get more from the settlement.”

”How dare you spout such nonsense!”

”Hmph, nonsense? You have three diseases; I only have one. How could I have given you something I don’t have?”

Yu Zhiwei looked coldly at the woman before him. ”Obviously, the disease I have was transmitted by you. I was just lucky to get only one.”

”You...”

Gao Qin felt utterly helpless. She had truly begun to tire of, even loathe, such exchanges.

Seeing the woman still wanted to argue, Gao Qin interrupted, ”Please take your arguments home. This is a hospital, not a place for you to bicker.”

The woman turned to Gao Qin upon hearing her speak. ”Director Gao, you tell me, who infected whom?”

Hearing the woman’s interrogative tone, Gao Qin’s expression hardened. She was gaining a new, acute awareness of the woman’s shamelessness.

However, she was a doctor, not a judge. Therefore, she pretended not to hear the woman’s question and addressed her directly, ”Ms. Huang, your check-up result is out. Unfortunately, you’ve been infected.

”Let me explain the characteristics of the three viruses. First, syphilis. I already discussed this with you yesterday, so I won’t repeat it.

”Now, regarding the other two: the first is the HPV virus, which causes genital warts. Genital warts manifest as variously sized and shaped growths on the skin or mucous membranes. While they can be treated through various methods, they tend to recur and require long-term, repeated treatment. However, it’s important to note that HPV cannot be cured; it will always remain in your body.”

Seeing the woman’s visibly shocked expression, Gao Qin chose to ignore it and continued, ”As for the HSV virus, also known as the herpes simplex virus, it’s divided into two types: 1 and 2. You are infected with the HSV-2 virus, which causes genital herpes. This virus also carries a high probability of inducing cervical cancer.

”Currently, this virus cannot be completely cured and will recur frequently. You will carry this virus for life. However, rest assured, although it cannot be cured, the symptoms can be alleviated. If your own immune system is strong, you can achieve recovery.”

”AHHHH?!” The woman froze as if turned to stone.

Incurable!

That was the only word echoing in her mind.

Gao Qin seemed to have anticipated the woman’s reaction, so she simply watched her calmly.

Only when the woman had somewhat regained her composure did Gao Qin say, ”Regarding the follow-up treatment methods, I already discussed them with you yesterday.

”So, whether you choose to inform those with whom you have intimate relationships is your decision. However, if problems arise from your choices, you will be responsible.

”Also, for future check-ups, you can choose to come to us or go to another hospital.”

It took a long while for the woman to muster a response, her voice trembling with unshed tears. ”Director Gao, could there be a mistake?”

Gao Qin shook her head. Although the result was cruel, she still said to the woman, ”It’s impossible. These tests are repeatedly cross-checked before a report is issued.”

”But... but it was just once.” The woman, no longer caring if Yu Zhiwei was nearby, finally started telling the truth.

”A month ago, I went drinking with my best friend. She invited some male drinking companions. Later, I got too drunk, and after that... I don’t remember what happened.

”It was just once. How could it... how could this happen…”

Gao Qin sighed lightly. ”That has nothing to do with the number of times. As long as there’s unprotected contact, there’s a high chance of infection.

”Moreover, the individuals you mentioned are almost certainly involved in special industries, making them high-risk. And since there were multiple people, the chance of cross-transmission becomes even greater, approaching nearly one hundred percent.

”Therefore, with such matters, you either avoid them completely, or you absolutely must take protective measures.”

The woman still wanted to say something more to Gao Qin, but Yu Zhiwei, who was behind her, directly opened the door and walked out.

Right now, he didn’t even know how to describe his feelings.

Once?

With things like this, it’s either never or countless times. How could it be ’just once’? Especially under such circumstances...

Reaching the doorway, Yu Zhiwei suddenly turned back and said to the woman, ”When you’re done here, find me. I agree to a divorce. Let’s do it now.”
