This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Heng glanced at Du Jun’s wife on the bed, then pulled Du Jun outside and whispered, ”My sister-in-law is very weak right now, and she has been possessed by evil qi. She’s very likely to attract evil qi again and possibly return to her previous state. At that point, even if we invited Erlangye to your home, I doubt it would do any good.”

Amidst his panic, Du Jun quickly asked, ”Then what should we do?”

Du Heng took a deep breath. ”You need to quickly help your wife recuperate. Once her body is healthy, her positive qi will be abundant, and evil influences will naturally stay away. After she recuperates for a while, her body will be strong, the evil qi will be completely gone, and there won’t be any more problems.”

Du Jun nodded quickly, seemingly taking the advice to heart.

Seeing this, Du Heng called his big brother and Yu Haiting, and the three of them prepared to leave together.

But Du Jun suddenly grabbed Du Heng and, pulling out 500 yuan from his pocket, stuffed it into Du Heng’s hand as if he were a thief. ”Xiao Heng, this is the money I promised you. Please take it.”

Du Heng looked at the money in his hand and did indeed accept it. But at the same time, he turned to Yu Haiting and asked, ”How much?”

”One hundred and fifty.”

Du Heng acknowledged with an ”oh,” then pulled out 300 yuan. He added another fifty from his own pocket, totaling 350 yuan, and placed it all in Du Jun’s hand.

Du Jun quickly pulled his hand back. ”Xiao Heng, what are you doing? Didn’t we agree on this?”

However, Du Heng grabbed Du Jun’s hand and forcefully stuffed the money back. ”We did agree, but this time, things turned out to be much simpler than expected. It didn’t take much effort at all, so I can’t take your money. I’ll just charge you for the medicine. You can get an invoice from the Health Clinic later.”

Du Jun protested, ”How can that be right?” but he immediately pocketed the money. Then, glancing timidly towards the main room with his head lowered, he asked in a hushed voice, ”So, do I still pay Banxianer?”

This guy is too shameless, Du Heng thought with surprise. Asking me whether to pay Banxianer or not? Trying to push the responsibility onto me! Although Banxianer was greedy and demanded a bit more, they negotiated that themselves. It has nothing to do with me. Besides, Banxianer actually did a good thing. That sweating from his wife was a sign of yang energy collapse. If Banxianer hadn’t stopped Du Jun from giving her more cold water, his wife would probably be done for by now.

Therefore, Du Heng felt it wasn’t his place to comment further. ”I’m sorry, but this is something you two discussed. It’s not appropriate for me to say anything. You should discuss it yourselves.”

Saying this, Du Heng brushed Du Jun aside. ”I have to go now. The hospital is very busy, and they’ve called to rush me several times.”

After speaking, Du Heng, Du Ping, and Yu Haiting left without looking back.

However, Du Jun caught up to Du Heng again. He hurried inside, grabbed the gift boxes of six treasure porridge and Telasu that Du Heng had brought, and placed them in front of Du Heng. ”Please take these gifts back; I can’t accept them.”

Du Heng looked at him, then directly reached out and took them, laughing. ”Alright, I won’t make things difficult for you. When my sister-in-law has recovered a bit, we’ll come to see her again.”

With that, he took the two gift boxes and walked away, his pace much faster than before.

Du Ping saw this and quickly followed. He didn’t say a word about Du Heng’s audacity.

Du Jun, however, was dumbfounded. He hadn’t actually meant for Du Heng to take the gifts back; he was just being polite. Who would have thought that Du Heng, a leader of his standing, would actually take back the boxes he himself had brought? Is this how you’re supposed to treat patients or guests? This was just too much!

Du Jun stood there, stunned, while Du Heng and Du Ping nearly burst out laughing. They hadn’t expected the potentially awkward situation to be resolved so easily.

After leaving the house, Du Ping took one of the boxes, and he and Du Heng shared a smile.

Yu Haiting, however, didn’t understand what his two companions were laughing about. He quietly asked, ”Dean, what did you mean by your last words just now?”

Du Heng pursed his lips, then smiled faintly. ”It was nothing. I just wanted Du Jun to treat his wife better and stop causing her trouble. That’s all.”

”Oh.” Yu Haiting was still a little confused.

Du Heng didn’t plan to explain further and said directly, ”Let’s go. We’ll head to my place first, then we’ll leave together.”

Yu Haiting rubbed his hands, smiling. ”It’s my first time visiting your house, Dean, and I didn’t prepare any gifts. I’m a little embarrassed.”

Du Heng laughed out loud. ”What’s there to be embarrassed about? Don’t I have the gifts right here in my hand? HAHAHA!” As he spoke, he raised the box in his hand high.

This gesture made Du Ping laugh as well.

Du Ping didn’t have much to pack. He just went home, changed his clothes, and packed the change of clothes he had ready. That was all.

Du Heng and Yu Haiting were both busy men with little time for idle chat. Seeing that Du Ping was ready, they promptly stood up to leave.

After checking the water and electricity, Du Ping looked at his yard, sighed heavily, and then turned to lock the door.

As they passed the threshold, the Du brothers, Ping and Heng, couldn’t help but glance down at Du Jun’s yard. It was just in time to see Du Jun and Banxianer arguing and even shoving each other inside the room.
