The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 494: Chapter 494 Venting Anger on the Girl

Song Ci actually had no idea that Qi San, her future grandson-in-law, had such a scandal. First, the marriage grant was inevitable, and even if he did have a concubine, he couldn’t defy the imperial edict.

Secondly, she was somewhat indifferent and hadn’t thought about interfering in Song Ruqi’s marriage matters, so naturally, she didn’t ask in detail.

As a result, the other party indeed had an old concubine.

Well, in Song Ci’s modern mindset, it’s just like the other party has an ex-girlfriend, which is nothing; what’s important is the future. The only slightly troublesome part is that this old concubine might be Qi San’s first woman, which is tricky.

However, none of this really matters. After all, this is ancient times, and Qi San is set to marry an official wife. The principal wife holds the highest position. A concubine is insignificant, and the Duke Ying Mansion is such a prominent household, they would never let a concubine overpower the official wife, especially when this wife has a noble status.

Therefore, given Song Ruqi’s status, there’s no need to fret. As long as she stands by the rules and follows reason, the other party cannot stir trouble. If she can’t even put a concubine in her place, what future would she have?

”It’s unnecessary to be angry or furious over the existence of this woman. It’s better to think about who leaked this matter, and how Su Qing suddenly returned to the mansion. I can’t believe no one is stirring things up to cause trouble for Qi’er,” Song Ci snorted lightly.

This not only upsets Song Ruqi but also brings trouble to the Prime Minister’s Mansion. Otherwise, why would such a mess surface just days before the wedding?

This is why Song Ci found the Duke Ying Mansion troublesome, and given Song Ruqi’s temper, she surely will face some hardships after entering the family.

Nanny: ”The Duke Mansion is vast with many affairs, and since she hasn’t entered the household, it’s hard to investigate who’s causing trouble. But it’s just those few people.”

”So, the higher the gate, the more disputes, not necessarily a good place to go; it would have been better originally...”

”Grand Madam,” Nanny said helplessly.

It’s all in the past, why bring it up, lest you create waves when it’s heard.

Song Ci smiled awkwardly, ”I won’t mention it, I won’t, is that alright?”

As she walked slowly past the moon gate, she heard the sound of slapping mixed with reprimanding voices.

Song Ci walked past the rockery and saw a little maid kneeling on the ground, slapping herself. Standing before her was none other than Song Ruqi.

Once again, venting on the maid!

Nanny coughed lightly.

Song Ruqi looked over, her expression changed slightly, and she walked over with small steps, giving a ceremonial salute to Song Ci, ”Grandmother, why are you here?”

Song Ci smiled, ”The spring sunshine in May is lovely, so I’ve come out to enjoy the flowers. If Qi’er has nothing to do, would you walk with grandmother?”

Song Ruqi hesitated for a moment, a trace of reluctance on her face, but seeing Song Ci’s gaze, she nodded and supported her arm to walk forward.

As for the maid who was self-slapping, Song Ci didn’t ask, and she didn’t say anything.

Nanny watched as the elder and the younger walked away and then approached the maid who was groveling on the ground, saying, ”Aren’t you going back now?”

The maid shivered slightly, tremblingly replied with a yes, and retreated.

Song Ruqi seemed a bit distracted.

”Qi’er, grandmother heard a saying, how do you think it goes?”

Song Ruqi paused in her steps and looked at her.

Song Ci did not look at her but instead gazed down at a camellia, saying, ”The saying goes like this: ’It’s instinct to lose your temper, but mastering your temper is a skill.’ What do you think?”

Song Ruqi’s fingers curled up, pursing her lips in silence. She had anger in her heart, isn’t she even allowed to lose her temper?

”Of course, you can lose your temper, but at this time before your marriage, losing your temper at a maid and slapping her, how does it benefit you if word gets out?” Song Ci plucked a camellia and handed it to her, saying, ”You’re a smart child and should know what behavior is truly advantageous for you.”
