The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 476: Chapter 476 Madam Song: I’ve been rejected by my mother-in-law

To cheer up Madam Song, Song Lingsu really brought Song Ruqian and her daughter back from the Gu Family. They first went to pay respects to Song Ci.

”Quick, let me see our sweet little darling.”

Song Ci smiled and waved to the nanny.

Zhang Shi, holding Sweetie, stepped forward, smiling and curtsied: ”The little miss greets her great-grandmother.”

”No need for formalities, let me hold her.” Song Ci opened her arms.

Zhang Shi placed the child in her hands, helped adjust her holding position, and then stood by to attend to her.

Looking down, Song Ci saw the child was awake, her big eyes curiously wandering around. When her eyes met Song Ci’s, she even smiled.

”Oh dear, she’s smiling! Very much giving face to her great-grandmother, just look at how sweetly she smiles.” Song Ci playfully teased her, observing her eyebrows carefully, feeling more and more charmed, especially when the child smiled, her heart melted.

Song Ci looked at Song Ruqian and said, ”People say children change every day, and I believe it. It feels like she has grown a lot since I last saw her.”

Song Ruqian laughed and said, ”More than that, she can recognize people now. If someone unfamiliar holds her, she cries. She’s still close to you, grandmother, and isn’t crying at all despite not seeing you often.”

”Of course, I’m her great-grandmother after all.” Song Ci tapped the child’s nose with her finger and said, ”Grandmother is close to you, and I only adore you. Nanny Gong, quickly bring out the jewelry box I picked for the little miss.”

Nanny Gong smiled and went into the bedroom, soon returning with a red box, which she handed to Song Ruqian.

Surprised, Song Ruqian opened it to find an array of small jewels: ”Grandmother, what is this?”

”For our Sweetie to wear.”

Song Ruqian was both touched and amused, saying, ”Grandmother, she’s only three months old, she can’t wear these. You should keep them yourself.”

”Those are children’s jewelry, why would an old lady like me keep them? My belongings will all be divided among you in the future. For now, I’ve picked some for the little miss; you can save them as her dowry when she grows up.” Song Ci said with a smile.

Song Ruqian was deeply moved, a bit choked up: ”Grandmother...”

”Don’t you dare pocket them yourself!” Song Ci stopped her; she couldn’t stand the crying and sniffling.

Song Ruqian: ”...”

Childish as ever, grandmother was getting more and more playful.

At this moment, Madam Song entered, noticing the box in Song Ruqian’s hands, her eyes flickered: ”Your brother really brought you back.”

Seeing her face heavily powdered, Song Ruqian said, ”I had nothing to do at home and missed grandmother and mother, so I came back for a few days. Mother, you wouldn’t mind, would you?”

”Who would dare mind you?” Madam Song approached Song Ci, greeted her with a bow, then looked at her granddaughter, smiling: ”This child has grown so much.”

She wanted to hold her.

Song Ci evaded, saying: ”You just managed the household, saw many maids, and even checked the ledgers, right?”

Madam Song was stunned: ”???”

”You came into contact with so many people, there’s a lot of dust, so you better not hold her for now to avoid bringing any bad germs to the child; she’s still small.” Song Ci said, ”Go wash up first, especially make sure your hands are clean before coming back. I’ll keep the child for a bit and play with her. Qian’er, go with your mother.”

Madam Song: ”...”

The same old lady who used to casually pick her feet after taking off her socks now thinks she’s dirty from interacting with too many people?
