The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 485: After the modification: Chapter 485 Your Heart is Really Big

Song Ci was leisurely savoring a cup of tea while whispering with Nanny Gong.

”Isn’t it said that the first three months of pregnancy should not be publicly announced? But look at Consort Bai, not only did she announce it, but she’s also running everywhere. She’s really something!”

In ancient times, pregnancy was taken very seriously, especially among noble families. Any daughter-in-law who became pregnant would be extremely cautious, only sending out announcements after ensuring the pregnancy was stable, fearing that any disturbance might cause a miscarriage. Even in her own family, Madam Jiang only started moving freely after nurturing herself for three months.

But this lady of the Bai Family, not only did she announce it, she even returned to her parents’ home, showing how capable she is.

Nanny Gong: ”???”

What’s so big?

Song Ci shot her a glance: ”Her heart.”

Pfft.

Sitting beside her was a well-to-do Madam, who couldn’t help but chuckle at Song Ci’s comment. When Song Ci looked over, she felt a little embarrassed.

Song Ci’s voice, while soft, was unavoidable in the small Bai Mansion’s flower hall; there was no way to pretend not to hear it.

But among those present, she was the oldest and ranked the highest. No one dared to say anything because everyone had indirectly learned from Madam Bai that the news was true.

The Commandery Princess, holding her tea, glanced at Song Ci across from her, then lowered her eyes and silently sipped her tea.

There was some commotion at the door, and everyone looked over, their expressions varied, and they stood up.

Prince Zhou had accompanied Consort Bai to meet the guests.

Song Ci rose gracefully, her gaze sweeping over Prince Zhou’s face and then landing on the Bai Family’s concubine, Bai Qianqian.

As soon as she saw it, her eyes bulged out.

Was it necessary?

This one has been pregnant for just about a month, yet look at what she’s wearing, a high-waisted scarlet long skirt, paired with a crescent white spring blouse, her hand resting on her waist, chin slightly raised, looking down on everyone.

This stance was almost outright declaring to everyone: ”I’m pregnant, I’m the greatest in the world.”

Yes, yes, yes, you are great, your heart is truly great!

Everyone gave a salutation to Prince Zhou, who, with a broad smile, motioned for them to rise. When he saw Song Ci pretending to also salute, he quickly walked over, gently lifting her hands to prevent her from bowing.

”Madam, there’s no need for such formalities; I dare not accept it,” Prince Zhou was extremely respectful and courteous.

Madam Bai and Bai Qianqian turned green watching this scene.

Especially Madam Bai, whose heart skipped a beat, feeling slightly uneasy.

She had intended to ignore Song Ci, but seeing how their son-in-law, the prince, treated her almost like his own grandmother, she was taken aback.

Song Ci said, ”Prince, propriety must be maintained, regardless of whether it can be accepted or not.”

”If my father and the Empress Dowager knew I was being presumptuous with you, I wouldn’t hear the end of it,” Prince Zhou said with a hint of humor, glancing at Song Ruwei behind her, his eyes briefly lighting up as he smiled and asked, ”Is this Miss Song San? The Madam sure knows how to raise daughters; Miss San is truly intelligent and talented.”

Song Ci noticed the flicker in his eyes, feeling something odd, but maintained her composure, saying, ”She’s just an eight or nine-year-old girl, still like a child; how could she possibly live up to your praise, Prince? Please don’t tease her. Wei’er, pay your respects to your uncle—no, to the Prince.”

Uncle?

Whether it was a slip of the tongue or something else, it was subtly implying that you’re old enough to be an uncle.

Though Prince Zhou did not think he looked that old—he was only seventeen—but Song Ci’s subtly veiled remarks made his face turn green.

Song Ruwei was a bit nervous but still adhered to the rules, gracefully and elegantly saluting Prince Zhou, her poise evident despite her young age.

The other Madams noticed this and raised their eyebrows.

The Song Family’s Third Miss couldn’t compare to her two elder sisters, being a legitimate child of a concubine, but her etiquette and manners were impeccable.

It seemed the Song Family put considerable effort into nurturing this Third Miss. But of course, the Song Family’s daughters were all legitimate, naturally precious.

Prince Zhou naturally realized this, his gaze softened further, and he took the jade pendant from his waist and handed it to Song Ruwei as a meeting gift.
