I AM the Football Star

Chapter 591: Chapter 157: You Damn Well Should Have Let Him Play! (Part 2)

”I’m also calling on everyone, regardless of the result of the next match, not to forget who turned Italy Team into the current sorry state—Vincent!”

Hans was very straightforward, going directly at Vincent.

While leaving a way out for Lu Yang and Morici.

To avoid the situation he’s worried about.

His article also became the theme of the demands of Italy’s fans during this stage.

Just focus the fire.

...

Misfortunes never come singly.

Lu Yang, Morici, Bernulin, and others due to being called up, couldn’t participate in the club’s matches.

They would miss three matches because of this.

One was the match that already passed, San Remo was forced to a draw.

The second was the Serie B match on the second day after the playoff first leg.

The third would be during the same time as the second leg playoff, the fifth UEFA Europa League group match.

Thirteenth round Serie B match, San Remo VS Regina.

In this match for San Remo, Sogel was in excellent form, scoring twice to save the team.

Canyes and the bench master Calafiori each provided assists.

But even so, San Remo could only manage a 2-2 draw with Regina.

This was the first time San Remo encountered the embarrassing situation of not winning in two consecutive rounds this season.

The fans felt uncomfortable, but it wasn’t unacceptable.

Fans even predicted the result of the fifth UEFA Europa League group match.

Qualifying early, Lu Yang, Morici, Bernulin absent, team being repeatedly forced to draws, opponents being the rather formidable Red Bull, Red Bull theoretically having a chance to overtake Ness to enter the group stages... Given all this.

San Remo’s fifth group match, the outlook was grim.

But the thing San Remo lacks the least is miracles.

As a fan of San Remo, you never need to worry about being depressed by the team’s poor performance.

Because Lu Yang will bring you countless surprises.

In the moment when the whole of Italy was despairing due to the playoff first leg loss, on November 23rd, FIFA announced the winner of this year’s Puskás Award.

The scene showed that young man, who managed to sneak the ball ahead with his head, charging into the penalty area.

At the same time, the defenders behind and in front of him collided, leaving an iconic masterpiece of world art.

Finally, he forcefully shot the ball in, killing off opponents in red and black jerseys while securing his team’s first domestic championship trophy—the Italian Cup!

He is—Lu Yang!

This goal came from the Italian Cup final, AC Milan VS San Remo.

FIFA’s commentary about this goal was: ”This is a goal transcending time, not only defeating the great AC Milan at this moment, but also a month later helping a similarly 0-3 behind Liverpool achieve a miraculous comeback, establishing a spiritual belief for Liverpool to defeat AC Milan!”

”Liverpool captain Jelando said in an interview that Liverpool will never walk alone, because Lu is with them!”

Retaining!

This is Lu Yang’s second time winning this award!

It’s also the second consecutive time this award was won by a player under eighteen.

Lu Yang hadn’t even turned eighteen when he scored this goal!

This is one of the records in modern football that’s considered almost impossible to break.

It’s not that young players can’t score such brilliant goals, but young players rarely have the opportunity to score such stunning and important goals in top-tier matches; they can barely secure a spot on the team.

To put it bluntly, claiming to be one of the top five shooting skills in World Football without winning a few Puskás Awards is really embarrassing.

This award brought great confidence to Italy’s fans.

At the very least, it gave almost obsessed Italy fans a new deity to worship devoutly.

Whether it has any effect or not, whether it’s genuine or not.

At this moment, having hope is already a kind of redemption.

After the National Team lost to Saudi Arabia, Chinese fans surely understand how much this kind of hope can comfort people.

For a while, Italy fans began to rave about Lu Yang.

No matter if Lu Yang is or isn’t, he’s already regarded as Italy’s national hero in the mouths of Italy fans, becoming the only player who can carry Italy forward.

The only one!

In this situation, it’s beyond Vincent’s decision to use Lu Yang or not.

If he doesn’t use him, the whole of Italy won’t agree.

”Vincent, I think we must put Lu Yang in the starting lineup!” Vincent’s assistant began to communicate with him, ”It’s not just Martivini, I just even received a call from the Prime Minister’s office, they...”

Vincent looked at the tactical board, completely numb.

Martivini, the Prime Minister, were all irrelevant to him now.

His future employment prospects were grim.

His coaching in Italy revealed to everyone his true level. He even wouldn’t get offers from football-desert countries; it’s as if even the National Team doesn’t want Vincent to coach.

In this situation, what is there to consider!

”Is Candreva really capable?” Vincent didn’t respond to the assistant’s previous statements, but looked into the assistant’s eyes.

He’s indignant!

As Vincent’s assistant, holding onto this position, is it because of talent?

No!

It’s because he understands Vincent!

He always manages to say the answers Vincent wants but won’t directly speak out, he’s always able to stand behind Vincent when the whole world doesn’t support him, giving him support.

All along, Vincent believed the assistant was the person most supportive of him in the world.
