I AM the Football Star

”Not taking a supporting role doesn’t mean not acting as a supporting character, but we won’t even play the leading female role if it doesn’t have enough screen time!”

”Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, roles like these, you understand?”

Lu Yang stated his minimum expectation for Sofia.

In reality, starring in a superhero movie isn’t necessarily a great thing for Sofia.

Because superhero movies don’t win film awards.

And Sofia wants both fame and fortune.

She wants to pocket both the box office and the trophies.

Superhero movies are just a fallback option.

”What? That’s impossible! What are you thinking?” Disney’s executives burst out in anger. ”Black Widow and Scarlet Witch can never have standalone movies, superheroes don’t have major female lead films!”

”Master Ancient from Fantastic Four and Doctor Strange is our last compromise!”

They played their final card.

Much more screen time than Aunt Mei, you could even consider it a female lead role.

But it is indeed a supporting role or a female lead in a male-driven film.

There’s still a big gap compared to a major female lead.

”Then I apologize.” Lu Yang maintained his composure and turned to Sofia, ”It seems there’s nothing to discuss here. How about we go out for some Chinese food, and I’ll tell you about the new script I came up with for you?”

”Sure!” Sofia stood up, nodded slightly to the other party, then took Lu Yang’s hand and walked out the door.

Their voices continued to be heard, reminding everyone that besides being a football player, Lu Yang also won the Best Screenplay in the main competition section of this year’s Cannes International Film Festival!

”Are there fight scenes?”

”Not really fight scenes, some small action scenes, but very intense!”

”Cool! There won’t be any romance scenes, right? After knowing you, I can’t accept romance scenes anymore.”

”Of course not, you’re a queen controlling everything in this.”

”That’s my style! By the way, what’s it called?”

”Gone Girl!”

”Wow! The name is similar to The Invisible Guest.”

”I’m planning to write a trilogy about humans for you, followed by something with another such name.”

The next day.

Reports emerged that the partnership between Sofia and Disney, which was almost finalized, fell through.

Neither party disclosed the specific reasons, but a Disney executive expressed clear dislike for Sofia’s rumored boyfriend Lu Yang during an interview.

He even mentioned multiple times, ”Italy deserves not to qualify for the European Cup.”

This enraged Italian fans.

Because it’s disrespectful to Italy.

Everyone felt relieved that Sofia did not collaborate with such a company.

Subsequently, news broke that a medium-sized Hollywood company successfully collaborated with Sofia, and they were very happy to have this opportunity, willing to fully support Sofia’s second self-directed and starring film.

Details are awaited for further developments.

...

November 10th, the eleventh round of Serie B kicked off.

Before San Remo’s match even began, bad news for Italian fans emerged.

Kolber, Bologna’s star player, who started thirty minutes earlier, landed on the opponent’s foot during a top duel, resulting in an ankle sprain.

Kolber couldn’t continue playing and left the field due to injury.

Soon, Bologna announced Kolber’s injury, confirming he will miss one and a half to two months.

This isn’t too bad for Bologna, as they don’t have many strong opponents in their upcoming schedule.

But for the Italy National Team, looking to call up Kolber, a prolific forward, it’s definitely bad news.

Vincent’s assistant rushed to the hospital where Kolber was and confirmed he won’t be participating in this match.

Considering this is a do-or-die playoff, if Italy fails, they’ll be spectators for next year’s European Cup.

The European Cup happens once every four years.

Who knows if Kolber will be selected for the national team in another four years?

Reportedly, after learning about his injury, Kolber cried bitterly in the hospital.

He waited so many years and finally had a chance to join the national team.

Whether or not he was there to take the blame, he was willing.

However... what is meant to be will be, what is not meant to be cannot be forced.

Kolber almost couldn’t take being toyed with by the god of fate.

Many people who cared about Kolber called, but their words couldn’t relieve his sadness.

Until he received a text from Lu Yang.

”Hey, Kolber, rest up and recover well, next summer I’ll take you to the European Cup!”
