I AM the Football Star

Chapter 570: Chapter 152: A New Benchmark for Justice! The World’s First Club to Use VAR!

Yet, Martivini abruptly hung up the phone.

Martivini handed his phone screen to the camera and said, ”I know many people are watching this live press conference right now, including the UEFA Refereeing Committee Chief and even the UEFA President.”

”I’ll contact you later, but now I want to announce the second decision made by the Italian Football Association.”

Many people perked up.

The second decision!

The first was to fire shots at UEFA.

The second one, who’s it aimed at?

What exactly is Martivini trying to do?

Doesn’t he know he might be ousted from his position as Italian Football Association President by tomorrow if he continues like this?

Martivini waved his hand, and the electronic screen behind him instantly lit up.

Some football scenes began to play.

Moreover, everyone was very familiar with them.

At this moment, a beautiful Eastern woman walked to the podium.

She was dressed in office-style attire.

White shirt, black pleated short skirt, black stockings, matched with bright yellow high heels corresponding with her hairpins and brooch.

With a remote control pen in hand, earphones on, she began to speak: ”This is the most severe mistaken penalty in the history of football, the Hand of God!”

”Some praise its greatness, but it certainly was a significant mistake that altered the course of football history.”

”This video shows one of the most controversial Champions League goals in recent years, also known as the ghost goal!”

”This is Pharmacy’s bizarre sideline net goal!”

”This is the dark penalty montage from the Japan-Korea World Cup!”

”This is the Asian Cup final where the Chinese Team faced a handball misjudgment!”

”This is Barcelona’s main defensive midfielder’s stunning world-shaking glimpse!”

”This is the recent blunder compilation from the San Remo VS Zenit St. Petersburg referee penalties!”

After a series of short videos played, the woman said, ”Hello everyone, I am Tang Yuqin, the Chinese representative in the Sino-Italian football cooperation project, and also the global ambassador for VAR promotion!”

”Maybe not everyone knows what VAR is. It’s the abbreviation for the Video Assistant Referee system. And on the big screen, we used the video assistant referee system to restore and revisit many mistaken games in history.”

”Next, let’s put an end to these historical questions!”

Once she finished speaking, a special image appeared on the big screen, rotating 360 degrees, allowing everyone to view it clearly.

Some historical unsolved cases can be restored by cameras, and everyone knows it’s a misjudgment after the game.

But there are others that are in photographic blind spots, true unsolved cases.

However, both parts are resolved by this video assistant referee system.

In theory, this system can give audiences and referees a perfectly clear visual effect.

Tang Yuqin said: ”With this system, the misjudgments due to vision loopholes in football will become a thing of the past. Of course, this doesn’t mean that future football won’t have disputes, because this system can only provide vision, but many penalty standards are still in the Main Referee’s hands.”

”Even if it’s a box collision and fall, whether or not to award a penalty still depends on the Main Referee’s mood, oh no, on the Main Referee’s standards!”

”Finally, due to the field’s reason, this system’s real-time 3D restoration ability will reach optimal effect only within the penalty box. Theoretically, this system is more suited for use inside the penalty box.”

After Tang Yuqin finished speaking, the entire venue was already in complete chaos.

Reporters were discussing.

What exactly is this Video Assistant Referee system?

How did it suddenly appear out of nowhere?

Just know that even goal-line technology hasn’t been fully introduced and popularized, yet compared to VAR, goal-line technology is nothing!

Trash!

With VAR, everything else is trash!

The technical difficulty between the two is not on the same level.

If goal-line technology is a clever use of traditional technology, then VAR is indeed a bit of black technology.

Because it can solve visual blind spots; it’s not something that can be settled by adding more camera angles.

Too amazing!

Who invented this technology? And who was the first to think of applying it to football?

Seeing that the discussion was enough, Martivini then spoke: ”This system is currently the most advanced, fairest, most impartial, and transparent referee assistant system in the world.”

”I believe that with this system, Italian football will no longer be labeled with match-fixing!”

”Therefore, I announce that from this moment, San Remo’s home field, Makabaka Stadium, will be the first to install the VAR system and put it into use this season!”

”Based on this season’s effects and feedback, as well as adjustments, if everything goes smoothly, Serie A will fully introduce this system next season! Starting next season, Serie A will become the fairest league on this planet!”

Upon finishing, Martivini revealed a victorious smile.

Because he knew he had certainly won this round!

And his continuously vibrating phone finally calmed down.

Obviously, those eager to call him to criticize him had finally lost their anger, and now perhaps only fear and anxiety remain!

Because normal people understand that once a technology like VAR is released and made public, its wide application in matches is only a matter of time.

This is a historical trend, no one can stop it, not UEFA or FIFA!

The reporters in the audience were simply amazed today.
