I AM the Football Star

Chapter 398: Chapter 115: The Summer Transfer Window Opens, Light of Asia (Part 2)

”He is the best player of this year’s Italian Cup, the Golden Boot, and top assist player. Likewise, he is also the best player, Golden Boot, and top assist player in the Italian Third Division!”

Tang Yuqin was stunned.

A professional football player, but now you’re more likely to find him at the Cannes International Film Festival?

Isn’t that ridiculous?

”By the way, do you remember that song ’Shape of My Heart’ I recommended to you earlier?” Katie asked.

”Of course, that song is now my favorite,” Tang Yuqin was very pleased with her friend’s recommendation.

”This song was written by Lu, and he’s also the one singing it!” Katie said.

Tang Yuqin was bewildered, a player? Screenwriter? Singer?

Is there really such a person?

”Wait, didn’t you always not pay much attention to football? I remember you supported AC Milan because you thought Izalelt was your ideal boyfriend type.” Tang Yuqin was a bit puzzled why Katie knew so much about others in the football world.

Katie said: ”Yeah, I just said that Izalelt was in the past. Now my ideal boyfriend is Lu, and most of the young models in Europe probably think the same way.”

”After all, everyone wants to experience a bit of Sofia’s happiness.”

Tang Yuqin frowned: ”Sofia? Drogba, oh, Kiss of Europa? What’s their connection?”

Katie said: ”Sofia is Lu’s rumored girlfriend! Okay, I won’t waste your time anymore, I’m about to walk the runway here. Remember... once you get in touch with Lu, don’t forget to have him pull some strings for me. I’ve already sent you San Remo’s official number. If you reveal your identity, they should be willing to talk to you because I’ve heard they’re particularly friendly towards investors from China.”

Tang Yuqin looked at her phone, feeling a surreal sense of disorientation.

Lu?

...

The attention from the East had not yet descended upon San Remo.

But San Remo was already feeling the attention of all of Italy.

This originated from the opening of the summer window.

As soon as the summer window opened, Rome eagerly sent an inquiry to San Remo.

They offered Six million euros for San Remo’s right winger, Becher’s.

The entire Italian football market was thus activated.

”Six million? My God, San Remo is making a killing!”

”Acquiring Becher’s for Four Million, and in just half a season his value increased by fifty percent! San Remo is impressive!”

”And don’t forget, Becher’s also played half a season for San Remo, without him, San Remo’s performance this year would have been at least ten percent lower!”

”San Remo sure knows how to buy players, their interception in the winter window was a divine move!”

Everyone was optimistic about this deal.

Because everyone knew that Becher’s initially wanted to go to Rome the most.

This was a perfect match of mutual affection.

However...

San Remo rejected Rome’s offer.

Six million?

Not for sale!

The outside world was dumbfounded.

They wouldn’t sell for Six Million?

Why?

Could it be that San Remo had already prepared Becher’s mentally, and Becher’s was willing to stay at San Remo long-term?

It’s important to know that Becher’s initially had conflicts with Lu Yang.

Although those conflicts were eventually resolved, what happened cannot be undone.

Moreover... to put it bluntly...

No matter how miraculous San Remo is, it cannot compare to Rome at this stage.

San Remo plays in Serie B and the Europa League.

While Rome plays in Serie A and the Champions League!

Soon after, Rome sent another offer, directly raising it to Eight million euros!

Their attitude was firm.

This right winger, they were determined to get!

Honestly, Rome fans had had enough of Aguirre.

With Becher’s arrival, Aguirre could get out of the way!

Were it not for Aguirre, Rome should have had an Italian Cup championship trophy this season!

In just half a year, a two hundred percent rate of return!

In the sluggish Italian football market, this was almost a transfer operation that made people stand up and applaud.

But soon, San Remo once again rejected Rome’s offer.

However, compared to the first cold rejection, this time San Remo wrote a lot of words after the rejection email. All were compliments and praise for Becher’s.

The meaning was simple.

This player is so outstanding and so important to us, so... the price needs to be higher!

Rome was also a bit troubled, asking for a higher price?

This is Eight million euros!

Six months ago, Becher’s market value was only Two Million!

Rome’s sports director privately contacted Becher’s agent.

But Becher’s new agent was not easily fooled, he told Rome that Becher’s was very satisfied with the environment at San Remo, if Rome really wanted to take Becher’s away, they had to offer Becher’s the respect he deserved.

Before the widespread emergence of the mutually beneficial ’free transfer’ tactic, transfer fees were the face of a player.

After the widespread adoption of the free transfer tactic, players realized that leaving on a free transfer allowed them to receive higher salaries.

Compared to transfer fees from which they got nothing, these real deals with high salaries were obviously more appealing.

But that was much later.

At this stage, transfer fees were even a reference data for many teams’ coaching staff and players to measure a player’s status and strength.

For Becher’s to have a better environment in Rome, his transfer fee could not be low.

Just as Rome was hesitating, a bombshell exploded in Serie A!

The first divine striker in Serie A, Inter Milan’s number one superstar, Juan Gutierrez, transferred to Premier League’s wealthy club Chelsea for a super transfer fee of forty-seven million euros!
