I AM the Football Star

Chapter 389: Chapter 113: If This Is a Dream, Miracles and Sighs! (Part 2)

”The Fall of Italy’s Cup Strongest Golden Boot? Success and Failure Due to Cortisone Shots!”

Each piece of news tugged at everyone’s heartstrings.

The San Remo Club’s official website was the first to announce the news, publicly disclosing Lu Yang’s injury and expressing well-wishes for him.

Below the official announcement, countless people left messages praying for good luck, and everyone was looking forward to Lu Yang’s return after recovering from his injury.

At the same time, San Remo fans were unconsciously discussing the next season.

The focus of their discussion was... this time, if Morici has the chance to lead the team alone, can Morici lead the team to at least one victory before Lu Yang returns?

Among them, an account with the ID ”I Am Not Morici” made particularly aggressive comments, angrily lashing out at netizens and asserting that Morici could lead the team to the peak of Serie B.

Moreover, Xiaolu’s return then would merely be the icing on the cake!

...

San Remo’s seafront mansion.

”Morici, stop playing with your phone. Isn’t it boring to browse forums every day? Go help Lu Yang come out for dinner,” Sofia yelled, prompting Xiaomo to quickly put down his phone and go inside to assist the master to the table while cursing the netizens.

During dinner, Sofia asked worriedly, ”Are you sure you can attend the event with me in ten days? Lu, don’t push yourself too hard. Although I’d love for you to come with me, I definitely don’t want you to sacrifice your health for it.”

Lu Yang smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, my injury isn’t as serious as outsiders think. In fact, my recovery is going smoothly, and the doctor said so too, didn’t they?”

A few days ago, Lu Yang was still in the hospital, but his recovery speed was indeed fast. Now he has met the discharge criteria, and the doctor indicated Lu Yang’s recovery speed might be two to three times faster than normal people.

Moreover, his injury doesn’t seem to be as severe as the doctors initially estimated.

Currently, as long as I have a crutch, the vast world is my oyster, Lu thought.

At this point, even Morici beside him was almost green with envy.

When he was injured and had surgery, how long did he have to wait before he could walk?

A month or a month and a half!

And Lu Yang?

He was discharged in just a week, without even having a cast. It’s unbelievable!

Is this really a torn cruciate ligament?

Are you sure it’s not just a mild muscle strain?

”People can’t be generalized. I once, in extreme anger, um... Some people indeed have better recovery ability for these muscle and tendon injuries.” That was a sports medicine doctor’s response.

It also put Sotu and Mr. Russell at ease to some extent.

If Lu Yang keeps up his current recovery speed, he might not even miss the new season.

It’s amazing!

Tearing a tendon has the same recovery cycle as tearing a regular muscle; it’s like he’s made of iron.

But even if Lu Yang’s injury heals completely, his meniscus wear still worries Sotu.

It’s like a time bomb waiting to explode.

Even if it doesn’t explode in the next few years, Sotu still hopes Lu Yang won’t suffer any major injuries again, no matter where he is or for whom he plays.

Of course, what Sotu doesn’t know is that Lu Yang’s meniscus won’t be a problem in the future.

The same sentiment was shared by Mr. Russell.

San Remo’s Sports Director Scott made one last suggestion to Mr. Russell, believing that with such a significant injury risk, Lu Yang is bound to decline in the future.

Instead of having him as a burden, it would be better to sell him off while he’s famous this year.

And then focus on Becher’s, or simply buy a superstar.

Now San Remo is different from last season!

They made it into Serie B and have qualified for the UEFA Europa League due to the Italian Cup win.

Plus, with Mr. Russell’s generous investment and the immense traffic and popularity Sofia brought to the team, they’ve turned from having no appeal last season to becoming a platform that many players, especially young ones, see as a viable stepping stone.

If they spend a lot, they can buy many excellent players.

Though they can’t get top-tier prospects like England’s Dario Mancini or Real Madrid’s future prince Pablo Enríquez, who are ranked first and second for the Golden Boy Award,

there’s still a chance to bring in prominent young stars like Lazio’s 19-year-old starting winger André Pompetti, Turin’s 21-year-old key midfielder Mauro Cortino, Rome’s Aguirre, or Juventus’s up-and-coming star Canyes.

After Scott presented this suggestion, Mr. Russell officially relieved Scott of his position as Sports Director and demanded Scott leave immediately and never return.

Scott knew nothing!

He completely misunderstood what Lu Yang means to San Remo.

But Russell understands.

When Lu Yang first got injured, Russell had decided that if Lu Yang truly became a shadow of his former self due to injury, he would always have a spot on San Remo’s first team as long as he wanted to play!

This is the appreciation of the wealthy Russell.

For someone like Russell, whether the team makes money is secondary; he’s already made a fortune by owning a stadium, and investing tens of millions of euros into the team is not a significant pain.

Lu Yang earned his recognition, and even if he can no longer play, Russell will ensure that Lu Yang can shine in other fields.

The thing he truly worries about or the reality he has to accept is not that Lu Yang will lose upward potential due to injuries and thus forever linger at San Remo.
