I AM the Football Star

Chapter 373: Chapter 109: The Drunken AC Milan and the Awakening Miracle (Part 3)

Bang!

The soccer ball flew over the crowd towards AC Milan’s penalty area.

There, a figure gently jumped up.

The ball landed on this person’s ankle and was stopped steadily.

”One-on-one! Lu Yang ran in the opposite direction! Morici played a perfect lob pass, and Lu Yang is one-on-one!”

”The AC Milan goalkeeper is clearly not yet back in position.”

”Right foot push shot to the far corner! Lu Yang didn’t use much power on this shot!”

”Oh my! The AC Milan goalkeeper missed the ball by just a centimeter! The ball had a slight curve, just enough to pass over the AC Milan goalkeeper’s outstretched fingers!”

”The ball is in! San Remo scores! Lu Yang, on the field for less than a minute as a substitute, has already scored a goal for San Remo!”

”Well done, San Remo! San Remo is showing incredible resilience and defining what it means to be gallant in defeat!”

”The AC Milan players didn’t expect San Remo to play like this! If AC Milan had intercepted that ball, they would have had a deadly counterattacking chance!”

”San Remo’s play became bolder after Lu Yang came on the field; clearly, Lu Yang is San Remo’s courage!”

”They’re a small team, trailing by three goals at halftime, but they never give up. They’ve shown the world they can score against top-tier teams!”

”Some might not be surprised by Lu Yang coming on, but it’s clearly not just to console the fans or put on a show.”

”As long as he’s on the pitch, despite how injured he is or how much criticism he’s faced, he’ll dedicate himself to the match!”

”Many people think Lu Yang playing while injured is just for hype and is a publicity stunt!”

”Now I want to ask those people, is scoring a goal just hype too? If there’s such hype, then I wish there were more! Every fan hopes for more of it!”

”Lu Yang is awesome! Everyone, shout with me, Lu Yang is awesome!”

At the scene, for the first time, San Remo fans finally burst into cheers.

They had been repressed for too long.

Even when Lu Yang initially came on, they didn’t cheer, as things were indeed grim.

They feared the miracle they’d been hoping for might end completely this time.

When Lu Yang wasn’t on, everyone hoped he would come on, and when he did, everyone worried he couldn’t perform miracles, leading to disappointment.

It’s a very complex mentality.

But thankfully, they finally got the right to breathe this time!

Lu Yang continued the San Remo miracle.

San Remo achieved the highest goal many fans set for them in this match... to score a goal!

...

”What a brilliant decoy run, this guy is so clever!” Praxedes praised, ”Of course, Morici’s pass was quite something too, to see that opportunity!”

”The two of them have such great chemistry, almost like they’re telepathic!” Izalelt nodded in agreement, ”But Lu’s right leg clearly isn’t fully recovered; his shot just now was almost blocked.”

”In the past, he would’ve used a powerful shot that wouldn’t give the goalkeeper time to react.”

Praxedes said, ”Come on, you’re just teasing him. Using power shots only harms his leg further. Even if Lu is foolish, he wouldn’t trouble himself. From now on, seeing him shoot from distance will be a rare sight.”

Beside them, the AC Milan head coach was very dissatisfied with the team’s attitude, yelling, ”The team got complacent, the players relaxed too much. Someone should have been marking Lu Yang just now. Even if no one marked him, the defenders zoning out during such a crucial match is absolutely negligent!”

Indeed.

The goal just now was spectacular, Lu Yang and Morici’s understanding amazed everyone.

But more of the credit for the goal goes to AC Milan’s defensive lapse.

Lu Yang’s easy reverse run easily created the one-on-one chance.

Ironically, even when Lu got the one-on-one opportunity, the Milan defenders were busy complaining to the referee about Lu being offside, instead of charging towards Lu.

Otherwise, without time to adjust, Lu might not have scored that one-on-one.

This goal conceded was a serious attitude problem.

”Focus! Everyone focus up!” The AC Milan head coach moved from the bench to the sidelines, starting to shout loudly.

The AC Milan players, as if waking from a dream, prepared to restart the game.

But whether they had truly become more focused, only they themselves knew.

”Tackle! Bai Zhami, tackle! With your speed, why not try to intercept? Ever heard of Wan-Bissaka? Just tackle!”

After the restart, AC Milan went into an attacking mode, but quickly Lu Yang’s voice broke the peace on the field, expressing dissatisfaction with Bai Zhami’s defense just now.

”Be decisive! More decisive! Camihong, take them down hard! Are you hoping Latu Yidi will get the card instead of you?”

”Mattias, make more tackles! Only tackling can interrupt their attack; this is AC Milan we’re up against, any one of their players can single-handedly challenge our defense!”

Honestly, hearing Lu Yang’s shouting didn’t make the AC Milan players feel honored; they were inwardly lamenting.

Do we need to increase intensity?

Are you kidding me?

You’ve already scored a goal!

Stop tackling, if you injure another couple of players, are you going to play in the Champions League final for us?

”Relinquish possession!” Another AC Milan midfielder was taken down; he was supposed to support Andrés but faced dire consequences, hence his suggestion.

Andrés, seeing his teammates’ expressions, had to nod.
