I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

The function of Commander Points is to advance blue-quality Racial Talents to purple quality.

Gauss currently possesses quite a few Racial Talents.

[Special Stomach][Sturdy Scale Bloodline][Ghost Form][Proto-Zerg Consciousness][Intermediate Draconic][Flying Instinct][Demonic Hour]

These Racial Talents cover various qualities.

Among them, [Demonic Hour] is of purple quality. It played a critical role in the recent battle against the ogre leader and is currently his strongest talent. It cannot advance to a higher quality for the time being.

Among the many blue-quality talents, the ones he uses most frequently are [Special Stomach] and [Sturdy Scale Bloodline], with [Ghost Form] barely counted in.

In truth, the times he actually uses Ghost Form are few, but every time it proves crucial, turning the tide of events, so he considers this talent as well.

Commander Points.

He felt that this number was not particularly large.

So he must choose wisely when using them.

Gauss’s attention wandered among these three options.

[Special Stomach] enhances his supply. Last night, it was with this talent he could continuously consume Magic Stones for rapid energy replenishment.

However, he can only consume low-level Magic Stones for now. He tried eating Mid-Level Magic Stones but quickly experienced discomfort and vomited them out.

A large amount of low-level Magic Stones in a short time also burdens the body.

However...

Normally, unless there’s a large-scale battle like last night’s, with Gauss’s extraordinary Magic Power, there is no need to consume large quantities of Magic Stones within a short time, leading to bodily harm.

Therefore, the priority is...

Gauss moved his gaze away from it.

Not that advancing it has no use, just that its priority isn’t as urgent at the moment.

[Sturdy Scale Bloodline] and [Ghost Form]

These two enhancing type talents somewhat echo each other.

Just that the former is inclined towards a dragon-like form, while the latter leans towards Ghost Transformation.

In terms of enhancement, [Sturdy Scale Bloodline] offers a lesser boost compared to [Ghost Form] but excels in stability and endurance, focusing on strength and physical enhancement. In contrast, [Ghost Form] emphasizes speed and explosive power.

One triumphs in stability, capable of sweeping moves; the other excels in bursts, with maximum mobility.

This indeed is a tough choice.

Gauss submerged himself in the hot water of the bathtub, contemplating silently.

He enjoyed this feeling, as if the entire world had fallen into silence.

But don’t imitate this lightly, as he has mastered the ability to breathe underwater after receiving the blessings of the Lake God.

After much contemplation, he finally made a decision.

He plans to first allocate Commander Points to [Ghost Form], then attempt to advance [Sturdy Scale Bloodline] when he gains more Commander Points later.

This isn’t difficult, after all, not every Commander Level Demon is as strong as the Ghost-transformed ogre leader. As long as the opponent is suitable, it is actually quite easy for him to take them down now.

There is another reason for choosing [Ghost Form].

When he killed that Ghost-transformed ogre leader, he absorbed a portion of its bloodline.

Although it didn’t advance his [Ghost Form] to a purple quality at the time, it should have propelled quite a bit of progress.

Prioritizing the temporarily limited Commander Points into [Ghost Form] ensures that this use of points can successfully advance at least one talent to purple quality.

If consuming 65 Commander Points doesn’t complete the advancement of [Ghost Form], then other talents will be even less hopeful.

He focused his attention on [Ghost Form] and then slowly invested the points into it.

5, 10, 20, until he invested 45, a prompt for advancement appeared.

”The conditions required for advancement in quality are met. Would you like to advance the blue-quality Racial Talent [Ghost Form]?”

”Yes.”

...

The ”cold” energy inside Gauss continued to grow.

In an instant, it had multiplied several times and became more refined.

Unnoticeably, he entered that Ghost Transformation state again.

Curved small horns emerged from his forehead, abundant energy filled his body.

”Gauss, are you alright?”

In the kitchen, as Aaliyah and Ying were handling ingredients, they detected the commotion next door and knocked on the bathroom door.

”I’m fine.”

Hearing Gauss’s fairly steady voice from inside, though they didn’t understand why there was a sudden surge of formidable presence from within, everyone felt relieved.

Gauss felt a strong coldness throughout his body, not physically, but this chill was extremely soothing, as if something intangible deep within him was slowly awakening.

”Crack, crack, crack——”

The white airflow swirling around his body continued to compress, faintly tinged with a deep black.

He felt that this enhanced energy was more stable than before, resembling a controlled giant beast.

”Blue-quality Racial Talent [Ghost Form] successfully advanced!”

”Advanced to purple-quality Racial Talent [Tier Two Ghost Transformation]”

When all had stabilized.

Gauss sat up from the slightly cooled bathtub water.

He was still in the Ghost Transformation state.

Clenching his fists, feeling the abundant power and Magic Power within him, he understood the improvement after advancing [Ghost Form].

Compared to before, [Ghost Form] was more like an incomplete transformation. Its instability required Gauss to continuously consume large amounts of energy when entering this form.
