I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Flames, acid, frost, swords, and flying arrows clashed continuously along this narrow battle line.

He adjusted his breathing slightly.

Swallowed a few low-level Magic Stones, replenishing the Magic Power within to its optimal state.

After replenishing the Magic Power, he invigorated the hardened scales within his bloodline, his entire body glowing brightly, as he gripped the White Magic Wand once more.

”Fireball Technique!”

”Fireball Technique!”

He hovered in the sky, the specialty of a Cannon Mage quietly coming into effect.

Magic Power control greatly improved while the casting range was also extended.

Several consecutive fireballs rose continuously among the distant Monster Legion.

”Boom!”

”Boom!”

Almost every explosion could bring about the casualties of dozens of monsters.

”Whew—”

Release the spell, change points in flight, hover, select appropriate location, release the spell again...

Continuously released the Fireball Technique seven or eight times.

Hundreds of monsters died amidst the rising fiery clouds.

Moreover, Gauss intermittently released many countless Magic Missiles in the gaps between casting the Fireball Technique.

Those missiles weren’t aimed at directly killing the enemy but precisely destroying those cloud stairs, causing monsters to continuously fall to the ground, resulting in more casualties.

When the flames dissipated.

A harrowing scene appeared before the city walls.

The monster lineup was forcibly bombed by him to appear ”blank.”

In each blackened pit of melted snow, many unrecognizable remains of monsters were scattered around.

Some monsters not yet fully dead twitched in convulsions at the edges.

The surviving monsters’ blood seemed to slowly retreat from their heads, frighteningly looking up at the terrifying figure hovering in the air.

The soldiers beneath the walls, the adventurers, were equally shocked by this.

At this moment, the ground seemed to still tremble, and they peeked out to see the outside of the city as a scene of a doom-like carnage.

Is this... the power of Magic?

This is the massacre inferno created by the young Red Dragon Knight in mere dozens of seconds.

After a few seconds of silence.

A burst of thunderous cheers erupted, surrounding the adventurers climbing onto the city walls with more strength in their hands gripping their weapons.

It seemed that a peculiar momentum enveloped them, allowing them to unleash even greater power.

On the contrary, the originally rampant monsters scaling the city walls collectively shrank their heads, as if they were falling into a hopeless situation.

”Kill!!”

”Long live Lord Gauss!”

”Finish off those monster bastards!”

Gauss’s face in the sky was slightly pale.

Using the Fireball Technique continuously for a short period, even for him, required time to recover.

Although Fireball Technique is a 3rd-level Spell, to truly unleash its power, it typically requires a Master Level caster, and often doesn’t possess his level of force.

One could say that he himself created an army of one.

The stunning explosion not only caused massive damage in a short time but, more importantly, dealt a fatal blow to the momentum of nearby monsters, completely turning the situation of the nearby kilometer-long city wall one-sided within a minute.

He took a deep breath, adjusted his physical state, and swallowed a few more Magic Stones.

Seeing the section of the city wall under his charge had secured victory.

He looked towards another part of the battlefield.

Truthfully, it wasn’t very good.

Due to his presence, the nearby city walls were originally the strongest defended area.

However, in areas where the enemy gathered much force, some walls had already been blasted open.

Monsters were pouring in like a torrent through those breaches.

”Woo woo woo!! Woo woo!!”

”Wah wah!!”

The horn sounded.

Adventurers and soldiers were battling hand-to-hand with the monsters flooding into the town.

Riding the griffon, Abelhard flew to Gauss’s side while conducting a supportive sweep.

Breached around less defended walls was anticipated before the battle; the Monster Legion likewise had its reconnaissance methods, able to bypass their strongholds for breakthroughs.

Fortunately, the townsfolk had already been evacuated ahead of time, and cavalry had been quickly dispatched from the rear to resist, preventing monsters from invading the interiors of the town.

”Gauss, there will soon be some light cavalry charging out from the side gate. We will coordinate with them to apply pressure on the flank and lead a raid on the monster camp.”

”Alright.”

Gauss followed Abelhard’s gaze to the depths behind the Monster Legion.

A series of horn sounds intertwined and transmitted from there.

Those horn sounds had a unique magical power, they were why this army composed of different races and temperaments of monsters could continuously launch fearless attacks; that magic deserved most of the credit.

It amplified the monsters and invisibly controlled their aggression like a hidden hand.

If defeated, the monsters would be unable to form cohesion and would suffer a head-on blow to their momentum.

Although his Fireball Technique is good, it can’t always achieve the same effect as before.

On one hand, as the battle progresses, the frontline is extended, and monster density is quickly declining, with a considerable portion already engaged in combat with human troops.

He couldn’t ignore the humans and cast indiscriminately with Fireball Technique.

A raid on the monster command post could disrupt the enemy’s neural centers while drawing monsters back for defense, allowing him to release wide-range damaging magic without considering other humans.

But accordingly, it was also more dangerous there.

After the plans were formally finalized not long ago.

A few light cavalry teams charged out from the side gate, slashing onto the flanks of the monster legion, constantly swinging weapons to cut down surrounding monsters with the explosive power of their steeds.

The assaulting cavalry soon attracted the attention of a large number of monsters.

”Let’s go.”

Gauss climbed atop Hephaestus’s dragon back.

The other team members enveloped in the Shadow Ability also climbed up.

The Red Dragon soared above the monster legion like a sharp arrow piercing quickly into the army.

The gryphon was not as fast in flight, trailing slightly behind.

At the main gate, Sir Belock, commanding soldiers to reinforce the breached wall, suddenly looked up and saw the rapidly advancing red figure, lightly moving his lips.
