Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Activating the Stronghold Again

Su Changxing spent quite a bit of time, taking down each ”Giant” in his sights one by one. Some required two arrows, others three.

Because of Su Changxing’s presence here, the defensive strength was relatively weak.

At the same time.

Many zombies broke through the second floor’s defenses, a series of roars echoed from the corridor, zombies had already rushed into the corridor.

Shen Jinxuan’s eyes narrowed, sensing zombies running towards their room, she held a short sword and slashed towards the door.

At the moment she swung, a zombie just reached the doorway, getting its brain pierced by Shen Jinxuan’s sword tip.

It seemed like a burst of inspiration in an instant.

Shen Jinxuan easily took down a zombie like this, exhibiting a style quite similar to Su Changxing’s, precise and just right, with black blood splattering onto her fair face, creating a stark black-and-white contrast.

”Hmm?”

She looked at her hands covered in black blood, tilted her head, and a slight smile appeared on her serious face, suddenly feeling that killing a zombie wasn’t such a difficult task after all.

Shen Jinxuan’s physical strength was higher than expected, such bursts and acuteness were definitely beyond ordinary people, hiding a certain combat instinct.

Su Changxing stared out the window, but his peripheral vision caught this scene, and he praised, ”Well done.”

In the next moment, a zombie flew past the door, crashed into the corridor’s railing, and fell down.

”Master, I came to rescue you.”

Zhu Xin Xue poked her head out from the door, looking cool and said.

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”Weren’t kids supposed to stay upstairs? How did you come down here?”

Zhu Xin Xue said defiantly, ”I’m not a kid, and my superpower is quite suitable for defending the second floor. For every zombie that comes up here, I kick one down.”

Su Changxing continued shooting downwards, saying irritably, ”You better not get killed, there’s no way I can explain things to your brother... Shen Jinxuan, keep an eye on her.”

At this time, Huang Biao sent a message saying that he had spent Red Stone at the Blood Moon Shop to exchange for more than twenty bows and more than ten crossbows for some people with basic shooting skills.

With so many people in the settlement, there would always be a few who knew how to shoot, and with so many zombies below, one could hit a zombie even with eyes closed.

Before long, arrows started raining down from above one after another.

With the advantage of height, the power of these arrows was quite good, even if they couldn’t hit the brains, hitting the body would still inflict serious damage and hinder the zombies’ mobility.

Gradually, the zombie assault seemed to slow down, even giving Su Changxing the illusion that the zombie attack was coming to an end.

The phone suddenly vibrated.

The phone usually only vibrates for important messages, such as triggering tasks, task settlements, forum announcements...

So.

Su Changxing picked up the phone to check.

[Would you like to re-activate the base, with the Red Stone rewards doubling, Red Stone shop items doubling, and Blood Moon difficulty increasing, 0/2]

”Does that mean the earlier attack was just the first wave of the Blood Moon?”

Su Changxing fell into thought, seriously considering whether to increase the difficulty, weighing the pros and cons. Generally, someone would decisively refuse.

However, he considered more than most people. If more sacrifices could lead to more Extraordinary people, it would be worth it.

Or strengthening the settlement could also be good, as it could protect more people.

Everyone stands in different positions, viewing issues from entirely different angles.

For ordinary people in the settlement, surviving the Blood Moon is already quite good.

But for Su Changxing, this was more like an equivalent exchange, where each person and each weapon were chips, and it was just about finding the most cost-effective exchange.

There would always be trade-offs, just like in war, there are always defeated teams, and there are always victorious teams. Often, the victorious team is built upon the defeated team.

Before long.

Huang Biao quickly arrived at Su Changxing’s place, his cheeks flushed, panting heavily, but his eyes clear, and he asked succinctly, ”What do you say?”

Although they could communicate via the phone, he still wanted to confirm in person.

Su Changxing made his decision, nodded calmly and confidently, ”Let’s activate.”

No need for explanations, nor any words said.

Huang Biao already had a conspicuous scratch on his chest, looked at Su Changxing, and said, ”Alright, let’s do that, I trust you... no matter the result.”

[Second stage, activate base]

[Activating]

[Prepare yourselves, this might not be a wise choice]

A deep red light rose above the Blood Moon Shop, piercing the sky, reaching the same height as the massive object.

The number of Red Stones in the settlement began to increase at several times the previous speed.

Earlier, the settlement would gain one or two Red Stones every half a minute, with bows priced at seven Red Stones and crossbows at nine Red Stones.

Now, they gained one Red Stone every few seconds, as if burning the settlement’s last radiance, something of little use even if a dying person gains more money.

The two exchanged glances.

Huang Biao, with a shocked expression, realized that the more benefits they gained, the greater the potential cost.

This matter was decided between the two of them, and there was not even a third person who knew the details, nor could they let more people know.

Surely many people would oppose, but if no one knew, no one would oppose.

Su Changxing thought so and never considered things like democracy.

Su Changxing continued, ”We’ll use all Red Stones to exchange for all the oil in the shop, prepare to throw it from the window.”

There was oil in the Blood Moon Shop, but priced relatively high, with a canister costing about thirty Red Stones.

Earlier there were twenty canisters in the Blood Moon Shop, and with the current quantity even more, enough to cover most of the area outside the settlement.

Huang Biao nodded, ”Yes, let’s do as you said.”

Huang Biao strode out of the room.

Shen Jinxuan seemed to catch some different implications from it. Su Changxing and the others seemed to have made a decision that the majority of the settlement would not agree with.

She thought for a moment, then said, ”Many things happen due to one person’s determination and confidence, and then they encounter Waterloo.”

No emotion, seemingly only stating a fact.

Shen Jinxuan’s pupils dark and bright, her expression focused, bloodstained face under the red light, like a strange night elf, with a touch of resilience in her serene demeanor, somewhat like milk with circles of coffee threads poured in.

Su Changxing remained silent for a few seconds, extracting a thought from countless musings, ”Some things require someone to do them, like every seemingly impractical attempt.”

He thought, if it were Jin, there would probably be no unnecessary words.
