Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Blood Moon World

All the people who went mad were thrown into the clearing.

Gradually, people began to die, all in bloody scenes, as if countless monsters were lurking around the gathering place, intensifying the panic among everyone.

Emotions can be contagious. When more than two people around you feel fear, you inevitably become fearful too, unable to control that fear.

Zhu Wenwu, leading forty or fifty people, surrounded the mad ones on the clearing, brandishing swords and knives at them, as if besieging some enemies.

Zhu Wenwu walked up to Su Changxing, sweating on his forehead, and said, ”Brother Su, what should we do now? It seems their condition hasn’t improved at all.”

Su Changxing, eating a piece of cake, said indifferently, ”Let’s wait a bit longer. If it doesn’t work out, kill them all... Want some cake? I have more here.”

Zhu Wenwu turned pale at Su Changxing’s words, and with a somber expression, he replied, ”No, I don’t feel well right now...”

He thought of executioners in history, spat upon by countless people. He must now be playing a similar role, whatever the reason might be.

Or perhaps everyone has their seemingly righteous reasons.

Zhou An’s face was a bit stiff. After a moment of silence, he said, ”They’re still living human beings. Do we really have to take action?”

Su Changxing glanced at him and asked, ”Want some cake?”

”Yes.”

Zhou An nodded.

Someone had already posted on the forum, warning everyone not to look directly at these gigantic creatures. However, thus far, these creatures have remained quiet, without any sign of movement.

The scene was quiet yet noisy. Su Changxing and his group were very quiet, while the people on the clearing were very noisy, shouting, crying.

A tall and thin middle-aged man wearing glasses came hurrying over from a distance.

Su Changxing remembered him, Geng Wanchun, a university professor, though he was unsure why he was coming over now.

Geng Wanchun walked straight up to Su Changxing and said, ”Hello, Brother Su, I’m Geng Wanchun.”

Su Changxing wiped the cream from his hands and said, ”Hmm, I know you. What’s up?”

Geng Wanchun paused, then said seriously, ”From my observation, they haven’t gone mad but have encountered those monsters, likely from another dimension... We should take the safest approach now and eliminate them, to prevent any unforeseen events.”

Monsters from another dimension?

Su Changxing sized him up, surprised that this person had arrived at the same conclusion as he did, which was unscientific.

He had extra information as a basis for this conclusion, but what was Geng Wanchun basing his on?

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”Hmm, are you worried they might attract those monsters here?”

Geng Wanchun nodded and said, ”Yes, we should now prioritize saving more people and sacrifice a small number.”

Geng Wanchun seemed very certain that these people would attract monsters, not as if he was guessing.

Su Changxing observed his expression, smiled, and said, ”That’s merely your guess. We don’t need to kill them immediately because of your speculation.”

Su Changxing seemed dismissive, appearing not to care about Geng Wanchun’s words at all.

Geng Wanchun frowned, stepped closer, and said in a stern voice, ”Kid, do you understand the principle of nipping problems in the bud? In this situation, we should minimize risk, and sacrifice is inevitable.”

Su Changxing patted his shoulder and, looking at him, said calmly:

”So, Professor, where did your information come from? It’s best if you tell me directly. I understand minimizing risks, and I hope you can clarify.”

Geng Wanchun’s expression shifted, not expecting Su Changxing to react so quickly. His gaze flickered as he said, ”I know some friends in the Security Bureau, so you must trust me.”

Su Changxing pondered for a moment, then said, ”Do you mean the Security Bureau has already done this?”

Geng Wanchun was taken aback, finding Su Changxing’s thought process novel, even reaching such a conclusion. He said, ”Not at all...”

Su Changxing interrupted indifferently, ”Thank you for your suggestion. I’ll consider it.”

Geng Wanchun said, somewhat angrily, ”You’ll get us all killed doing this.”

Su Changxing looked at him and said calmly, ”What if you go mad too?”

Geng Wanchun replied decisively, ”I’d end it myself.”

Su Changxing didn’t know whether Geng Wanchun was telling the truth, nor did he care. He said, ”You’d better leave here now. The decision-making power is in my hands, not yours.”

Geng Wanchun didn’t respond further but glanced at Su Changxing and the others, preparing to turn and leave. But at that moment, he saw a slender red moon in the darkness, and the world warped.

”There’s a monster! I saw them. Brother Su, save me.”

Geng Wanchun retreated repeatedly, a strong look of terror on his face, urgently shouting.

Seeing this, Zhou An walked up, grabbed him, and tossed him into the clearing, returned, and said, ”Heh, who would’ve thought this guy would enter such a state himself, who knows if he’ll end it himself.”

Shen Jinxuan gripped the short knife in her hand and said, ”He didn’t look up at the sky just now and still entered such a state.”

Su Changxing also noticed this issue and said solemnly, ”Others might also enter such a state, or it’s because he had previously observed the gigantic objects.”

Zhu Wenwu looked around and said calmly, ”Any one of us could enter that state next, so please prepare yourselves mentally.”

A lot of people were around, with heavy expressions on their faces, and no one thought of killing those who went mad, because they might be next.

Then.

Zhu Wenwu’s expression turned somewhat abnormal, his body trembling, with a hint of fear yet maintaining composure, he said, ”Brother Su, I think I’ve been affected too.”

Su Changxing tried asking, ”What did you see?”

Others, upon entering this state, would become disoriented, unable to hear others’ voices, as if they were in another world.

Zhu Wenwu’s body became stiff, his hands and feet cold, stammering:

”A very dark place, with a blood-red moon in the sky, surrounded by buildings... some broken-down buildings, all made of bricks and stones, looking very ancient.”

He felt very uneasy, already foresaw his own death, dying like those before.

Su Changxing was a bit surprised, not expecting Zhu Wenwu could still hear him, and immediately said:

”Find a place to hide, don’t make any big moves.”

Zhu Wenwu rolled over and squatted on the ground, saying with a tremor in his voice, ”Brother Su, I know I might be about to die, suddenly, but also expected... I have a request, could you take care of my sister after I’m gone?”

Su Changxing said sternly, ”Survive first before saying anything. Don’t make a sound, that world likely has many monsters.”
