Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Blood Moon Shop

Suddenly.

Clear sky for miles.

The red mist disappeared unknowingly, and a slender blood moon appeared in the night sky, shaped like a crescent.

The people on the ground who hadn’t died yet suddenly came to their senses, tears of joy in their eyes as they looked around, cheers resounded.

They held on to the end and survived.

Huang Biao visibly breathed a sigh of relief; Huang Tao ultimately did not die and made it to the end.

But at the same time, waves of roars, shrieks, and howls came from outside the settlement, as if ten thousand people were gathering and cheering.

[Activate Base, Blood Moon Shop Arrives]

Su Changxing noticed a notification on his phone.

A shop with shimmering red light, similar to the Mysterious Shop, appeared in the center of the settlement, but it was blood red.

Su Changxing and Huang Biao exchanged glances and ran towards the Blood Moon Shop.

He figured this should be something similar to the Mysterious Shop where items could be exchanged, knowing that this thing was not ordinary.

When they arrived in front of the Blood Moon Shop, quite a few people were already gathered there, yet no one seemed to be able to enter.

Huang Biao shouted to the surrounding people, ”Don’t crowd here, hold your positions, the zombies outside could rush in at any time.”

Zhou An stood aside, scratching his head, saying, ”This thing seems to be different from the Mysterious Shop, we can’t get in.”

Su Changxing guessed that only he and Huang Biao had the privilege to enter because they activated the base together.

”I’ll try.”

He walked close to the Blood Moon Shop, and instead of being transported to another space as he imagined, a red light screen appeared in front of him, filled with a dazzling array of exchangeable items.

The exchange didn’t use Points, but used Red Stone.

The more zombies killed during the blood moon in the settlement, the more Red Stone gained, though the exact conversion ratio was unclear.

Of course, the current quantity of Red Stone was zero.

Huang Biao showed a hint of delight on his face, saying, ”There’s actually food in the shop, and it’s exchanged by the pound of rice.”

Besides the blood moon, the most urgent issue in the settlement now was food; even if they survived the blood moon, the settlement would inevitably collapse without food.

But now, the Blood Moon Shop could directly exchange a substantial amount of food, which was far more substantial than the tiny bit of food in the Mysterious Shop.

Su Changxing also showed a slight smile and said, ”The premise is that we can successfully survive the blood moon and kill enough zombies.”

As he browsed the merchandise of the Blood Moon Shop, he was slightly surprised, noticing not only rare resources for attribute enhancement but also various weapons, even firearms.

[Firearms (Rare, Quantity 5): 200 Red Stones]

[Firearms: The most basic firearm with very short range, slow reload, moderate power.]

Huang Biao was also taken aback upon seeing these weapons and said, ”If we can exchange a certain number of crossbows, our defensive capability will increase significantly.”

Their current shortcoming was the lack of some means of ranged attack; dealing with zombies, they were on the defensive side, where ranged attack methods are very important.

Su Changxing nodded and added, ”Yes, with enough Red Stone, we can first upgrade everyone’s weapons. I see many people still use sticks.”

While checking the Blood Moon Shop, zombies outside were already surging, crashing against the barriers at the outlet; the entire settlement was completely shrouded in the howls of zombies.

The two immediately rushed to different exits; there were east and west exits in the settlement, breaking either would place the settlement in a passive position.

Upon reaching the exit.

Su Changxing found that the number of zombies gathered at the exit was not excessive, only a little over a hundred, though more zombies continuously climbed over the obstacles, entering the settlement.

Shen Jinxuan said with a grave and astonished expression, ”Su Changxing, these zombies actually know how to form human ladders, stacking their bodies over the obstacles; aren’t they too smart?”

Apparently, she was unaware of the zombies’ continuous strengthening and intelligence growth, even more so amidst the red mist.

Her understanding of zombies was still at the initial stage.

”They are indeed that smart now.”

Seeing little problem at this exit, Su Changxing said, ”Let’s go to the second floor.”

Shen Jinxuan didn’t ask why and followed Su Changxing to the second floor.

They entered a room on the second floor facing the exit, which just happened to allow a view through the window of the large number of zombies gathered at the exit.

Some zombies were exceptionally strong, crashing into the walls repeatedly; though no cracks appeared in the wall, the sound was loud.

Su Changxing took out a Shadow Bow and began shooting swiftly at the zombies below.

The zombies were sitting ducks, and each of his arrows could take down a zombie for sure. His shooting speed was not slow, able to fire two arrows in five seconds.

The discount shop had around four hundred arrows in stock, which meant he could eliminate at least four hundred zombies with the bow.

As arrows were shot out one by one, the number of zombies gathered at the exit decreased visibly.

Many people smiled, feeling that these zombies were not a big deal and that holding them off was completely manageable.

At this moment, a piercing scream sounded.

Amid invisible red mist, a wave of zombies rushed out again, densely packed; some of them were noticeably more agile.

Su Changxing shot an arrow at a zombie climbing up from the outside, but at the same time, a dozen more zombies were climbing up the outer wall.

One of them, a particularly small zombie, rushed up at incredible speed, heading straight for Su Changxing’s location.

Obviously, by killing a large number of zombies, Su Changxing had attracted quite a bit of hatred; in these zombies’ eyes, Su Changxing was highly threatening and the target to be eliminated first.

Su Changxing had no time to shoot a second arrow, so he picked up the steel saber nearby and slashed at the charging zombie.

The slash didn’t kill the zombie outright, but it did knock it to the ground.

This zombie appeared to be an Extraordinary Zombie, with high physical strength; taking a slash from Su Changxing, it fell heavily to the ground and, as if nothing happened, immediately climbed up, charging towards Su Changxing again along the wall.

Blood gushed from the wound on its chest, streaming down the outer wall.

Before it could climb up, Su Changxing shot a direct arrow, but the zombie, while climbing, twisted its head to dodge.

The arrow pierced its shoulder, embedding halfway into the body.

To a zombie, this was a negligible wound.

Su Changxing seized the moment, tensed his arm muscles, and chopped down again, cutting half of its body diagonally, black blood fell like rain.
