Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Blood Moon

A layer of red mist filled the air, resembling blood but more subdued than blood-red.

Outside the window, many zombies seemed to be on stimulants, sprinting madly on the streets, jumping between vehicles and the ground. It was as if they were entirely activated by something, becoming somewhat frenzied.

Everyone noticed this anomaly, after all, it’s hard not to pay attention to the blood-red sky, and the hall was filled with buzzing discussions.

Shortly after, Su Changxing noticed a pair of blood-red eyes looming in the darkness outside the window; it was the Monkey King crouched outside the wall.

Su Changxing loaded the magazine into his pistol and asked, ”Xiaobo, what’s going on? What’s with the red mist?”

The ”Monkey King” paused and said, ”The seventh day, zombies will go berserk.”

The seventh day?

It should still be the sixth day now.

Su Changxing pondered and asked, ”Will you monkeys go berserk too?”

The ”Monkey King” gestured, nodded, and said, ”We will too, but not like them.”

It can easily understand human language but cannot speak fluently, probably because it seldomly talks.

At this moment, Zhu Wenwu strode in from outside and said, ”Brother Su, quickly look at the forum announcement.”

He seemed anxious, but upon seeing the ”Monkey King,” he was momentarily stunned, his heart skipped a beat. Seeing such a terrifying thing suddenly appear in the room almost made him pick up a weapon to counterattack.

”Forum announcement?”

Su Changxing opened his phone and flipped through the forum, noticing the new announcement.

[Blood Moon Arrival

The Blood Moon will commence from the seventh night to the eighth dawn, zombies +100% frenzy, everyone’s location will be perceived by zombies.

Friendly reminder: use every means to prepare for defense, the more zombies killed during the Blood Moon, the more rewards one will receive.]

Zhu Wenwu glanced at the Monkey King, and worriedly said:

”According to the announcement, tomorrow night a large number of zombies will actively attack us. Messages from downstairs are saying that there’s already a large number of zombies attacking the barriers at the door.”

Su Changxing thought for a moment, but instead smiled, relaxed: ”This might not be a bad thing. If there’s change, it’s good news.”

Upon reading the announcement, he even felt enlightened, sensing that this might be the key to breaking the impasse. If things continue as mundanely as before, it would instead lead to despair.

Zhu Wenwu saw Su Changxing’s demeanor and calmed down a bit, thinking aloud: ”Do you mean this might be the Extraordinary’s opportunity?”

Su Changxing nodded and said, ”Yes, I mentioned to you before, if this continues, most people would die. Changes are good. And killing zombies during the Blood Moon has rewards...”

Zhu Wenwu’s eyes flickered, thinking about many things. Becoming Extraordinary was the premise of survival. He wanted both him and his sister to survive, which meant they needed to become Extraordinary.

He put on a resolute expression between his eyebrows, saying, ”So as long as we kill enough zombies, there’s a chance to become Extraordinary.”

Su Changxing looked at him, seriously saying, ”That’s right, more specifically, as long as you’re strong enough.”

Heavy footsteps were heard outside.

”Squeak~”

The wooden door made a sharp sound, and Huang Biao pushed the door open, glanced at the ”Monkey King,” and said in a serious tone:

”Su Changxing, quite a few zombies have started attacking the barriers at our main entrance. These zombies seem more perceptive. Going out tonight may be significantly more dangerous.”

Tonight is not the Blood Moon, but zombies seem influenced.

Su Changxing thought and said, ”That’s true, but I still have to go out... Be careful of the Hunter’s attack tonight, though with Xiaobo around, it should not be too much of an issue.”

”Xiaobo?”

Huang Biao raised his eyebrows, looking at the fierce-looking ”Monkey King” nearby, with a peculiar expression.

Su Changxing nodded and said, ”That’s right, as you think, that’s its name.”

Because of the Dreamer, he captured a part of the Monkey King’s memory, also knowing its former name.

Huang Biao couldn’t help but comment, ”It’s really a gentle name, somewhat mismatched with its appearance.”

Zhu Wenwu interjected, ”Mainly that it’s not small either.”

The ”Monkey King” looked at him, dissatisfied, saying, ”You are small.”

”...”

Zhu Wenwu couldn’t help but glance at the ”Monkey King’s” lower body, not speaking.

Then, Su Changxing saw another message pop up on his phone.

[Detected your base meets requirements, do you wish to establish a stronghold? Establishing will grant more rewards during the Blood Moon, while attracting more zombie attention.

This decision requires two people to jointly decide 0/2]

A stronghold?

Su Changxing’s expression shifted slightly, not expecting establishing a gathering place would have such changes, nor knowing the specific conditions for establishing a stronghold.

Huang Biao received similar information simultaneously, frowned, unclear what the so-called stronghold specifically meant, hesitantly said:

”Do we establish this stronghold? It seems like it’ll attract more zombies.”

Su Changxing thought for a while, affirming, ”I think it’s feasible, this should be an opportunity, we need to seize every opportunity.”

Zhu Wenwu was somewhat baffled, not knowing what these two were suddenly talking about, estimating it’s about the Doomsday Game.

Huang Biao took a deep breath, feeling immense psychological pressure, after all, each decision he made now was related to every person’s fate here, saying:

”If that’s the case, I’ve decided, I trust your judgment.”

[Established stronghold, model projecting]

”...”

No change occurred, as if nothing happened.

The room fell silent again, a cool breeze blew in through the window, dispelling the skin’s heat.

Huang Biao looked at Zhu Wenwu and said, ”Go to bed early, others are on watch, if anything, they’ll call you.”

Zhu Wenwu undoubtedly didn’t look good; being mentally strained for extended periods, he appeared very tired, forming a clear contrast with Huang Biao’s vitality.

Zhu Wenwu indeed felt exhausted, nodded, and said, ”Okay, I’ll head out then.”

”Wait, eat something before you go.”

Su Changxing took out three boxes of red self-heating rice from his backpack and said:

”What’s this?”

Zhu Wenwu was stunned, thinking if he wasn’t mistaken, this seemed to be self-heating rice, Su Changxing casually took out such a thing.

Su Changxing handed two boxes to the both of them, opened one for himself, smiling: ”You should recognize it, self-heating rice with tomato and scrambled eggs.”

These self-heating rice were left over from the last refresh, Su Changxing redeemed them and stored them in the backpack.

Huang Biao looked at the self-heating rice, couldn’t help but swear, saying, ”Damn, the Mysterious Shop has such things, you’re quite something. I’ve still got a can of fried salted fish, goes well with rice.”

Saying this, he retrieved two hand-sized cans of fried fish from beneath the table.

Pouring water, the heating pack gradually warmed, hot steam rose from the lid before the trio, the aroma was a deadly temptation for doomsday survivors.

Zhu Wenwu gulped, looked at Su Changxing, saying: ”Brother Su, should I call my sister over?”

Huang Biao couldn’t help but say, ”That lass doesn’t do much all day, why let her eat so much.”
