Chapter 166: Chapter 166: The Madwoman’s Pistol

Dozens of people were blown backward by the impact of the air current, but no one was seriously hurt.

This airflow seemed to only serve as a thrust.

The old man, faced with the sudden change, narrowed his pupils, clearly taken by surprise, yet he looked at the newcomer with a smiling face, saying:

”Friend, isn’t it a bit impolite to launch such a sudden attack? If you want to save someone, we could actually discuss it...”

The girl gave him a strange look, and before he could finish his sentence, she curled her lips into a smile, raised her arm, extended her slender fingers, made a gesture like a gun, widened her eyes, and exaggeratedly said, ”Bang~”

As if sparks really erupted, the surrounding space became distorted.

Almost instantly, the old man’s chest burst into a spray of blood and he was suddenly flung backward. His face was full of shock, gradually turning into a dark shadow in mid-air and disappearing into the shadows of the night before hitting the ground.

”That strong?”

Su Changxing got up from the ground, also taken aback. That old man was now a Tier Eight Extraordinary, on the same level as the ”Tailor,” yet he was knocked away by the girl in a single encounter.

These Hunters did not become fearful because the old man was sent flying. They rushed in Su Changxing’s direction, still unwilling to let him go.

After all, Su Changxing was their prize tonight. It made no sense to give up at this moment.

Su Changxing, seeing this change in the situation, quickly ran towards the direction of the girl, noticing she had already extended both hands, gesturing with two gun-like hand signs, ”shooting” at the Hunters.

It looked like child’s play and was quite laughable, but in this situation, no one could laugh.

”Bang bang bang~”

In an instant, the heads of four or five nearby Hunters suddenly exploded, bursting into blood flowers like strange and enchanting blood roses blooming in the night sky.

Su Changxing felt a tingling on his scalp, fearing that his head might also explode the next moment. He wasn’t familiar with this crazy girl at all, so it wouldn’t be surprising if she decided to off him directly.

After all, nothing is surprising when it comes to a lunatic.

However, he still ran towards the girl’s direction without hesitation. He had no other choice—with Hunters all around, and they were all coming for him.

The girl’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she laughed loudly: ”Continue, continue, you guys continue.”

As if in a hail of bullets, one Hunter after another who charged forward had their heads explode. Those who didn’t die fell to the ground, howling in pain.

The Hunters were intimidated. Seeing that something was amiss, they realized that even a large number of them wouldn’t be enough for this girl to kill, so they retreated in unison, but some who ran slower were instantly shot dead.

They’re retreating already?

Su Changxing stared blankly at the retreating backs of the Hunters, then turned his head to look at the girl with her hands in her pockets, instinctively asking: ”You’re not chasing them?”

The girl restrained her smile, thought for a moment, and said, ”Can’t catch up.”

[Human: Healthy, Unknown. A powerful existence, but she seems quite unstable?]

Su Changxing just realized that this girl wasn’t an Extraordinary but a powerful Superpower User, so her physical strength might not be that high, akin to a Mage with short legs.

The girl blinked her eyes, which were naturally blue but gleamed bright red under the Blood Moon’s glow, like two brilliant rubies, enchanting and charming.

Her hair didn’t seem dyed; it looked natural this way.

She didn’t speak either.

Su Changxing felt the atmosphere was a bit awkward, just about to express his gratitude. No matter the situation, she did save him.

Suddenly.

Noises of tumultuous growls rose from all around in the distance, stirring like waves.

”It’s the Undead Tide, summoned by those Hunters.”

Su Changxing furrowed his brows, instantly realizing it was the old man’s doing. If he could keep the Undead Tide away, he could also lead it here.

This was a large Undead Tide; even this girl couldn’t withstand it head-on. Human abilities have their limits, and no matter what Superpower, there would be consumption, whereas these zombies seemed endless and inexhaustible.

The girl glanced at the approaching zombies down the street, with her lips curving to show excitement, looking all set for a showdown.

A bona fide lunatic.

Su Changxing caught glimpse of this scene, raised an eyebrow, made a judgment in his mind, then surveyed the surroundings and noticed another street with fewer zombies. He recalled there was a narrow alley there that could be used for escape.

Although his injuries were severe, he was still capable of outrunning the zombies.

”This is a massive Undead Tide; you can’t handle it. This way.”

Su Changxing immediately ran to the side, not forgetting to remind the girl. After all, she saved him, even if he felt the reminder would be pointless.

A lunatic’s resolve isn’t easily swayed.

At least, that’s what books say.

Then, the girl considered for a moment and decisively jogged to catch up, her pace small, the frequency not high, but her speed quite fast, able to keep up with Su Changxing as if some force was propelling her forward.

”Ta-da~”

From this distance, Su Changxing could clearly hear her humming a strange tune. It wasn’t particularly pleasant, with a hint of hoarseness.

Could she be any more leisurely?

Su Changxing gritted his teeth, muttering sarcastically to himself as he sprinted forward, his body wracked with pain, leaving behind a fading trail of footprints.

With his physical condition now, he could be considered a monster. Despite being gravely injured, he could still run at high speed, which from afar, was quite intimidating.

There’d be no problem making a child cry out of fear.

Zombies along the route were taken down one by one, heads exploding, creating a scene of utter bloodiness, with shredded meat and dark blood strewn across the street.

Su Changxing thought to himself that this scene seemed familiar, surely seen somewhere before, as a flood of images flashed through his mind.

Back then, outside the room where Shen Jinxuan stayed, there were many zombies with their heads blown off. Could it be that at that time, this girl was also there, or even in the same building?

Yet, it was puzzling. With this girl’s temperament, had she been nearby, there would definitely have been a considerable commotion. He should have noticed.

But the truth was, he didn’t notice it until later, when they encountered the Screamer, that he met this girl.

So she was drawn by the Screamer back then...

Su Changxing shook his head, dismissing unnecessary thoughts. He should be focusing on the present situation. However, with the girl’s presence, the journey was much easier than expected. All he needed to do was lead the way and run ahead.

”We enter from here.”

Su Changxing glanced back at the horde of zombies surging behind, even catching the shadow of a Screamer, then led the girl into the alleyway.

Once inside, the narrow space amplified the zombies’ growls, ringing in their ears without pause.
