Reborn One Week Before the Apocalypse

Chapter 402: Chapter 392: The Plan Begins

Yang Ming slowly calmed down. Every achievement he’d ever earned, from his school days to the present, was the result of his own hard work.

He had earned that military medal with his own blood and sweat. Whatever his relationship with Boss Yang was, it didn’t matter. His conscience was clear.

’I just feel bad for my wife...’

Yang Ming held Yang Ahua in his arms. He’d never imagined his wife came from such a privileged background, yet was willing to live a simple life with him. He could only spend the rest of his life repaying her devotion.

Da Bao and Er Bao hadn’t seen their father in a long time. At first, they were a little shy about approaching him, feeling a sense of unfamiliarity.

But the power of blood ties is boundless, and soon the family of four was joyfully embracing one another.

After seeing his wife and children, Yang Ming went to find Yang Jie.

The mission was finally complete. He had accomplished it without disgrace.

However, what Yang Ming didn’t know was that Yang Jie had something even bigger to discuss with him—the plan.

As an outstanding superpower user and Executor, Yang Ming was to be given a crucial task by Yang Jie for the next day’s plan.

After returning to her room, Tang Mo couldn’t hold on any longer. She had been awake for over thirty hours. While her spiritual power could heal her body and relieve physical fatigue, only sleep could truly soothe her mental exhaustion.

She drew the curtains, locked the door, and collapsed onto the bed, feeling completely secure. She fell asleep instantly and didn’t wake until the next day.

Early the next morning, Tang Mo was woken by a knock on the door.

Groggy, she opened the door to see two young men in military uniforms standing ramrod straight and looking at her.

Tang Mo slapped her forehead. ’Damn, how could I have almost slept through something so important?’

Today was the day the plan would be put into action. She didn’t know what Yang Jie and the others had told the soldiers yesterday. By the time Tang Mo finished getting ready and went outside, the base’s large training ground was packed with neat, dense rows of troops.

Aside from those left behind to guard the base, almost every soldier was here.

Everyone knew in their hearts what kind of mission they shouldered today.

In the middle of the troops on the huge open ground were a dozen or so modified armored vehicles, and even two helicopters.

It seemed Yang Jie had brought out all of the base’s people and prized assets. For this battle, everyone was showing a determination to win at all costs.

The air was a bit cold, but the sun was exceptionally bright. The sunlight shone on everyone, a spectacular sight that could bring tears to one’s eyes.

Meanwhile, Yang Jie and the others from yesterday’s meeting were also in military uniforms, standing on a platform. Everyone was looking at her.

Tang Mo stretched her neck and shoulders, which were a little stiff from sleeping for so long.

”Begin!”

With that single, crisp command, the vast and magnificent plan was set into motion.

Tang Mo herself flew into the sky first. This time, she flew very low, beginning her mental destruction of the nearby Meat Dragons with the Yang Family Base as the epicenter.

A vast blanket of spiritual power descended, turning all the Meat Dragons in that area into mindless husks.

Once that area was finished, Tang Mo flew to the next, continuously expanding her range of destruction.

The larger the safe zone she created, the more confidence it would give humanity, and the more it would help with the smooth completion of the rest of the plan.

Tang Mo had slept well and was full of energy today, ready to give it her all.

Each time, she cast her spiritual power over a wide area. At this rate, she could destroy all the Meat Dragons within a thirty-mile radius of the base in two hours.

At this moment, standing on her cloud of spiritual power and working tirelessly, Tang Mo could never have imagined how majestic, how awe-inspiring her figure was in the eyes of the soldiers below—as if she were glowing.

Everyone at the base stood motionless, looking up at the sky, until Tang Mo disappeared from their sight.

Two hours later, Tang Mo was standing on the ground at the base again.

”It’s your turn.” The casually spoken words stirred the soldiers’ morale.

If a young woman was fighting so hard for her home, her country, and all of humanity, what right did they have to not give it their all?

”Move out!” Yang Jie roared, and everyone instantly sprang into action.

In an instant, the massive force of soldiers, armored vehicles, and helicopters mobilized, everyone with a weapon in hand.

Yang Ming was leading the armored vehicle team. He would go out with the troops from the base to complete the mission in the field.

Everyone held a blade. Against the stupefied Meat Dragons, cold weapons were the most effective.

It wasn’t that the base lacked guns and cannons, but using them at this time would clearly be a huge waste.

Their mission this time was simple: slaughter.

To slaughter all the nearby Meat Dragons that had been petrified, and then haul them back.

The Meat Dragons had already lost their ability to resist, so the mission was not dangerous.

But the number of Meat Dragons was simply too great. This was a massive and time-consuming task.

Of course, in such a large area with a huge number of Meat Dragons, there were bound to be some stragglers that Tang Mo hadn’t destroyed. That’s where the soldiers’ Strength would be needed.

There were over three thousand people in the base, and most of them usually never had a chance to leave. Every time an opportunity for an away mission came up, everyone fought for it.

Most of them spent their time in ceaseless training within the base.

But this time, everyone went out.

They had only one objective: to kill. To kill every last one of these enemies of humanity.

Soon, the surrounding streets and alleys were filled with soldiers killing Meat Dragons. Everyone was fighting eagerly with weapon in hand.

This scene stunned the people hiding in their cramped homes nearby.

For many, it was the first time they had ever seen anyone kill those terrifying monsters.

After all, most of the time, people just hid from them.

’So these monsters aren’t so invincible after all...’

After witnessing this one-sided slaughter, this thought arose in the minds of all the civilians.

For the first time, they felt that they were on equal footing with the monsters—or could even be superior to them.

”The torso of one Meat Dragon can be exchanged for five days’ worth of food at the Yang Family Base.”

As the soldiers carried on the slaughter, they passed this information to the civilians secretly watching from the sidelines.

With communications down, word of mouth was the fastest way to spread information.

Five days’ worth of food...

This was undoubtedly an incredibly tempting reward.

The people hiding in their houses looked at the dazed, foolish monsters on the street and couldn’t help but think.

’These things... they don’t seem so scary after all...’

More and more people began to join the battle. The Meat Dragons plummeted from the top of the food chain, becoming pathetic things that even a child could kick a few times.
