Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 82: Chapter 39: Forced Kill and Injury_1

Cyclops had essentially finished the battle.

The Level 2 zombie Cyclops had sent flying was torn to pieces. It should be noted that a Level 2 zombie was already considered a decent meal for Cyclops.

Cyclops was perpetually starving. For him to resist the temptation of food and instead brutally tear it to pieces, one could imagine just how furious he was.

The source of his anger was the zombie clinging to his neck.

The last Level 2 zombie clenched both its hands tightly around Cyclops, refusing to let go, while its massive mouth gnawed savagely at Cyclops’s body.

Meanwhile, Cyclops had bitten into the zombie’s waist, his massive strength severing it in half. However, a zombie’s only weakness was its head.

So, the mutilated zombie still clung to Cyclops’s body, and Cyclops couldn’t reach it to bite anymore.

Seeing Cyclops furiously attacking the Low-level zombies around him, Wen Yu stepped forward and finished off the Level 2 zombie clinging to Cyclops.

”Clear the way, let’s move out.”

The injuries the Level 2 zombie inflicted on Cyclops were not minor. With Mortal Combat active, Cyclops’s physical strength was now comparable to Wen Yu’s in combat mode.

Cyclops panted heavily, the ferocity in his eyes intensifying as he vented his fury on the ordinary zombies like a tank.

With Cyclops’s rampage, the man and beast quickly broke through the zombie blockade, rushing towards the exit of Chaihe Town.

As the distance between them and the zombie horde grew, the zombies gradually stopped their pursuit.

PHEW.

Wen Yu took a deep breath. These zombies were low quality, but there were simply too many of them. If he tried to kill them all by himself, he would only end up exhausted and dead.

”Let’s go. We’ll head back to the gathering place first, find more professionists, and then come back to kill them all!”

Seeing Cyclops shaking with rage, Wen Yu tried to comfort him.

Cyclops hung his head, his temper flaring after being injured by the Level 2 zombie. If Wen Yu hadn’t been there, Cyclops would undoubtedly have tried to kill every last zombie!

Cyclops couldn’t care less about the quality-versus-quantity ratio!

”Enough, stop dwelling on it. This fucking thing isn’t over yet!”

And when Cyclops saw the zombies in the distance, his eyes immediately lit up.

I must show the Boss that Level 2 zombies are nothing but trash in my eyes!

In a small building not far away, Sun Ruixing and Li Dalong were carefully concealed, occasionally glancing at the nine zombies at the entrance.

”My goodness, Brother Sun, are those really Level 2 zombies? There are so many of them!”

He shuddered to think that if Sun Ruixing hadn’t been sharp-eyed and promptly spotted how different these zombies were, they would have already become zombie fodder.

”It’s true. Their physical coordination is unlike any I’ve seen before. I don’t know if they’re Level 2, but it’s the most likely possibility!”

Sun Ruixing also swallowed hard.

Looking at the current situation, Li Dalong couldn’t help but feel pessimistic.

”So, what should we do?”

”Wait.”

”Wait for what?”

Sun Ruixing glanced at the jittery Li Dalong and explained, ”Don’t forget, Brother Wen Yu is still inside Chaihe Town. He’ll come out sooner or later. Which way do you think he’ll go?”

Li Dalong was silent for a moment, then hesitantly said, ”Nine of them... It won’t be easy for Brother Wen Yu, will it?”

”Then what can we do? All we can do is pray that Brother Wen Yu can handle these Level 2 zombies. Otherwise, we’ll just have to take it one step at a time!”

The two fell into silence.

After a short while, the figures of a man and a dog appeared in their line of sight.

”Here they come,” Li Dalong said quietly.

Seeing Wen Yu’s figure, Sun Ruixing immediately picked up his steel saber and wooden shield and started heading downstairs.

”Brother Sun, where are you going?” Li Dalong asked in surprise.

Sun Ruixing replied without turning his head, ”I’m going to help. If I can take on one of them, it’ll lessen Brother Wen Yu’s pressure.”

Hearing Sun Ruixing’s words, Li Dalong immediately shrank back.

”Haha, I’m not going. I can’t help anyway!”

In terms of physical fitness alone, Li Dalong was even superior to Sun Ruixing.

Unfortunately, people truly are different!

”Suit yourself.”

The battle commenced instantly.

Humans and zombies were natural-born enemies; there was absolutely no possibility of communication between them.

As the nine zombies opposite them stirred to action, Cyclops was the first to charge forward.

However, the targets of these Level 2 zombies were Wen Yu!

Despite being at the same level with little difference in physical fitness, Cyclops only managed to intercept two zombies. The remaining seven lunged at Wen Yu, all claws and teeth, their attacks arriving in an instant!

A fierce light flashed in Wen Yu’s eyes. Now was the time to be ruthless—not just towards others, but even more so towards himself!

The first zombie to reach Wen Yu failed to harm him and was immediately beheaded with a single slash of his steel saber. Wen Yu kicked the second one away.

Next, he dodged one of five incoming attacks, but the remaining four struck him directly!

Wen Yu’s E-Class protective suit couldn’t withstand such immense force and was instantly shredded to tatters. Fortunately, his combat instincts prevented any crippling injuries.

This is enough!

He thrust his steel saber directly into the mouth of the zombie in front of him. With a twist of the blade, its head exploded. His left hand shot out to grab the head of a zombie to his left; using the strength from his waist, he swung it towards Cyclops. Cyclops promptly shattered its skull with a bite, simultaneously enduring a swipe from another zombie attacking his side.

In an instant, Cyclops had suffered minor injuries and Wen Yu moderate ones. Of the nine Level 2 zombies, only six remained.

No, five. In the next moment, Cyclops stomped on another zombie, his sharp claws digging into its head and crushing its skull.

Then, the second clash instantly began!

Before Wen Yu could retract his steel saber, a zombie bit down hard on his wrist. The immense force of the bite was such that he could hear his bones creak as it gnawed on them.

Wen Yu decisively abandoned his steel saber, pulling the zombie into his embrace. Ignoring the flesh being torn from his hand, he forcefully twisted off the zombie’s head and then lunged forward with all his might.

Behind him, one Level 2 zombie bit empty air, but another’s attack found its mark: its claws tore open Wen Yu’s thigh, exposing the muscle and sinew within.

Tossing aside the now-dead zombie, Wen Yu pushed off with his good leg, landing beside Cyclops who was nearby.

Cyclops had already finished his fight.

It turned out that in a one-on-one fight, a Level 2 zombie was simply no match for Cyclops!

Cyclops, his mouth dripping with foul blood, turned to glare ferociously at the three remaining Level 2 zombies.

Then, the third clash began—the one that would decide the battle.

Cyclops charged right into the three zombies and, in a single bite, tore off the head of one.

When the remaining two zombies tried to charge again, Cyclops intercepted them.

Mere seconds later, the battle was over!
