While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 149: Chapter 138: Shining in Their Respective Fields

He was already used to this kind of situation, so by Nature, his emotions remained completely unaffected. He would give back to the players in his district. For one, he had the ability to do so, and he could indeed earn a small finder’s fee from it. Additionally, he hoped that by doing these life-saving deeds, he could accumulate some good karma. Perhaps his son could also be saved by someone else in another district.

District 2888.

[Escape Skill Chat Group]

”How do you all practice your Skills?”

”I just practice on the raft. It’s actually very effective, and my experience points are increasing.”

”I think we need to practice more in our daily lives. Otherwise, when we run into real danger, it won’t be easy to get away.”

”Mine is Teleportation. Right now, I can move two meters.”

”That’s pretty good. Mine is Sprint; it just increases my running Speed.”

”This Skill is really weird, too.”

”It’s always somewhat useful, anyway.”

”It’s just that it drains my stamina too much. Under the current virus disaster, I’m a little worried about that.”

”It’s best to fully recover your status before going to sleep, and then swap into some new Equipment.”

”If we don’t practice now, when will we ever get the chance? The disasters are only getting stronger.”

”That’s true.”

”...”

Jenna Holland smiled as she watched the group chat discussing how to train their Skills, then began practicing on her own raft. She was really starting to love chatting in the Sea Survival Shop more and more, because it allowed her to see the beauty in life. It made her feel that there was hope for the future.

Whenever she switched back to her own district’s chat, her heart always ached a little. It was filled with despair, fear, and death... All she could do was place any extra Equipment she had onto the Trading Hall.

The players in her district knew they had a permanent resident player among them, because she always listed goods in large batches. But exactly because they knew this, they always tried to guilt-trip her into revealing herself.

She knew very well that apart from her escape Skill, she was incredibly weak. Under these circumstances, it was simply her Nature to keep her secret identity tightly under wraps. She just wanted to... stay alive.

District 1002.

[Levi Vance, I told the big boss Rowan Rhodes about your situation. She wants to chat with you. What do you think?]

After receiving this message, Levi Vance truly felt as though his entire world had instantly brightened. Relying on his research abilities, he had indeed managed to live quite well through all sorts of natural disasters. But to him, it wasn’t enough.

Because the resources on hand were too limited, his research subjects had to strictly relate to the disasters just to support his survival. However, he knew very well that if he wanted to survive in the long run, he had to stay one step ahead of the Sea Survival Game. He wanted to research better weapons. Unfortunately, powerful weapons required all kinds of ores. He didn’t have many ores on hand and couldn’t bear to waste them.

He had been eyeing the ores in Rowan Rhodes’s possession this whole time! She had enough of them, a rich variety, and even types that other players didn’t possess. But he knew very well that it was difficult to make contact across different districts. Let alone with a top-tier boss like Rowan Rhodes.

He felt he was a player doing relatively well in the Sea Survival Game, but compared to Rowan Rhodes, he was still far behind. When the Introduction of talents to Rowan Rhodes was brought up, he had also looked forward to it. After all, he believed he was considered quite good among researchers. However, he just hadn’t known if anyone he knew had that kind of network on Instagram.

As a result, the opportunity really arrived. Overjoyed, Levi Vance had already added Rowan Rhodes and began conversing with her.

Rowan Rhodes wanted blueprints for different weapons??? So, as long as the weapons he researched could be recognized by the Sea Survival Game, he would be able to receive the rewards offered by Rowan Rhodes. Levi Vance felt a massive surge of confidence.

Realizing how much Rowan Rhodes cared about this matter, Levi Vance requested an advance payment of ores. Of course, he also sent Rowan Rhodes a copy of the weapons and Equipment he had crafted and improved. A moment later, the instant the transaction was completed, Levi Vance’s eyes lit up. He believed that this was the beginning of his cooperation with Rowan Rhodes.

District 6538.

Audrey Aldridge browsed through the various guides published by Rowan Rhodes, examining each one carefully and studying Rowan Rhodes’s phrasing. After all, among information-based goods, Rowan Rhodes’s sold the best. They easily sold millions, even tens of millions, of copies. Among all the players, she was completely in a league of her own.

Although much of this was due to the bonus of holding the title of number one across the entire server, her guides were genuinely useful every single time; that was the real reason players praised them time and time again. Therefore, during this period, she had also published a few guides bearing her own name. Though they couldn’t compare to Rowan Rhodes’s, they more or less sold quite a few copies, and the numbers grew with each release. This meant that her information-based goods had gained market recognition. She would continue to work hard.

Not just focusing on Rowan Rhodes’s information-based goods, but those of other players as well. It wasn’t merely about studying them; it was more about the integration of information. She wanted to synthesize more data from the players’ guides to understand the situations in other districts and the circumstances of other players. And among them all, she found Rowan Rhodes to be the most valuable.

If only one day she could rely on her own abilities to sell information-based goods to the same extent as Rowan Rhodes.

And so, players across different districts continued to shine and thrive in their own respective domains.
