While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 122: Chapter 116: Team Initially Formed

Owen Caldwell was also waiting anxiously on his end. It was safe to say that when it came to Equipment for this natural disaster, his Skill didn’t offer him much of an advantage. Although he could craft some Equipment, the production cost was too high. It was fine for personal use, but if he were to sell it, he wouldn’t make much profit. As a result, he had to find another way. After all, he was currently depleting the resources he had accumulated earlier.

Fortunately, after expending a circuit board, he finally obtained the blueprint for an air purifier. Although he had also acquired many corresponding resources from the trading hall in District 122, there were quite a few people within the district who could craft air purifiers. Whether crafting for personal use or for sale, there were profits to be made. With many people competing for the resources, the amount he could snatch up was relatively small.

In comparison, Rowan Rhodes was a true big shot! If he could get an order from Rowan, he would definitely make a profit. He didn’t need to earn too much; he just needed enough to comfortably survive the three days of this natural disaster.

[Rowan Rhodes: Traded Metal Ingots x1000, plastic x1000, glass x500, circuit boards x200, charcoal x1000]

Seeing Rowan’s generous move, Owen was immediately startled. He had sent him enough materials for a hundred units all at once. After accepting the trade, Owen happily started crafting at his Workbench. He was determined to be a reliable worker.

Faye Sinclair was eagerly trading resources with others in the world channel, the trading hall, and the small group chat for tailors.

”The Anti-toxic Equipment is pretty good!”

”It feels great to use.”

”I’m open to trading.”

”@Faye Sinclair, let’s trade, let’s trade, let’s trade.”

”I hope there can be more available.”

”Faye Sinclair: It’s just that this type of Equipment is currently handmade, so the Speed is a bit slow. Please wait a moment, everyone. I will prioritize trading for resources.”

”...”

After replying, Faye continued her trades in the trading hall. Upon acquiring the resources, she began crafting. Of course, she didn’t forget to check the messages in the Sea Survival Shop, especially the small tailor group chat.

In the small group, there were not only tailors but also players who provided resources. Many players had resources like broken cloth, leather, and fur on hand. These resources weren’t of much use to them, but for tailors, they could be directly converted into various kinds of Equipment with special Effects. Under these circumstances, players chose to sell them to tailors in direct exchange for this enhanced gear.

Some players had already turned this into a business. After all, not all tailors were permanent players, and there were players in their own zones who possessed this Skill. These permanent players learned from the experiences of the permanent tailor players in the small group, and then collaborated with the tailors in their own zones to craft Equipment. It could be said that they were making money from both ends. Anyone with half a brain knew how to profit from this.

In the two days since the private messaging and group chat functions appeared in the Sea Survival Shop, the zones where the permanent players resided had become much livelier. Naturally, everyone was making a killing. Faye also purchased a lot of resources through this and managed to recruit several tailors. She was able to recruit them because she held a massive amount of resources and possessed the necessary techniques. However, she was well aware that this kind of technique-based trade was a one-off deal. That was why she had approached Rowan, wanting a large amount of resources to directly cash in on this wave.

While continuing to purchase resources, Faye saw Rowan’s reply.

[Rowan Rhodes: How much do you need?]

The moment she saw it, Faye felt a surge of excitement.

[Faye Sinclair: As much as you have. I’ve found many players with tailoring skills and am willing to provide them with the techniques so they can craft a large batch of Anti-toxic Equipment for me.]

[Rowan Rhodes: Traded fabric x500, leather x100, fur x100... I can provide more later.]

[Faye Sinclair: Alright, I’ll wait for you.]

Looking at the message, Faye immediately grew thrilled. As expected, reaching out to a big shot like Rowan was indeed a great idea.

On Skye Schuyler’s end, she had also received a reply from Rowan. Seeing Rowan say he didn’t mind put Skye’s mind at ease. However, looking at the return gifts she received from the others, she knew they had also struck deals with Rowan. This meant that Rowan was indeed very willing to convert his massive stockpile of resources into various types of more useful Equipment. After all, certain Equipment could only fetch a high price within a specific timeframe.

She had also eaten the Blast Fried Octopus Tentacles she just cooked, and the Effect was even better than she had imagined. Skye naturally wouldn’t arrogantly think her culinary skills were that incredible; it could only be that the octopus tentacles Rowan gave her possessed some kind of special Effect. She wondered if Rowan had more octopus tentacles on hand. Not only would it improve her Skill, but it would also allow her to earn a little bit of survival supplies.

Speaking of which, she wasn’t a combat-oriented player. Coupled with the heavy, toxic fog outside, it seemed the only thing she could do was use resources to patch up the damage caused by mutated marine creatures attacking her raft. Most lifestyle Skill players made this same choice. Therefore, before every natural disaster, they had to stockpile a certain amount of resources, just in case. After all, the intervals given for them to gather resources were simply too short. They could only try to collect as much as possible during normal days.

After all, aside from their daily consumption, they still had to work hard to upgrade their rafts. Take this wave of mutated marine creatures, for example. If one had a Level 6 raft equipped with a Fish Spear Gun, the raft would still sustain damage, but it wouldn’t be too severe. Therefore, they couldn’t afford to fall behind on raft upgrades either. Once they fell behind, they would easily be eliminated during a natural disaster.

With this in mind, Skye mustered up her courage to ask Rowan again.

[Skye Schuyler: Boss, do you still need me to cook more food?]

After sending the message, Skye waited anxiously for his response. Fortunately, she soon received it.

[Rowan Rhodes: Traded Octopus Tentacles x29, Octopus Meat x20, raw meat x10, radishes x10, lettuce x10...]

A whole series of ingredients appeared right before Skye’s eyes. Looking at this rich assortment of ingredients, Skye couldn’t help but marvel once again at how awesome Rowan was. The ingredients were just too plentiful! She figured that for Rowan to possess such ingredients could only prove one thing: he already had his own planting base. It was truly enviable!

However, there was something else Skye understood even better. Rowan had already acknowledged her capabilities. This meant that as long as she worked hard, her collaborations with Rowan would only increase in the future. The next moment, Skye sent out real-name invitations in the main group chat of the Sea Survival Shop to several players who excelled at cooking. Her own Strength was limited; recruiting a team would allow her to serve Rowan much better.

Just like that, without even realizing it, in order to better craft the massive quantity of Equipment from the resources Rowan provided, Zelda Parrish and the others silently began gathering their own teams through the Sea Survival Shop. The team Rowan wanted was also unconsciously taking shape.
