While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 114: Chapter 108: Teaching You How to Produce Fertilizer Without a Blueprint

”You don’t need a blueprint?” Rowan Rhodes asked in return.

”Blueprints are for Equipment. I’m making a compost bin, which only needs some materials,” Big Turtle said, its voice as cheerful as ever.

”Alright, what materials do you need? I’ll get them ready,” Rowan said, a hint of excitement in her voice. She immediately began gathering the items Big Turtle listed.

To make the compost bin, she needed four Wooden Boards. Then, she had to add biological materials like leaves, hay, Coconut shells, fish guts, and bird droppings, and mix them together to ferment. Of course, this process required a player or a pet with the Farming Skill to execute. Rowan had only learned of this secret recipe after communicating with Big Turtle.

She truly hadn’t expected the pets in the Sea Survival Game to come with their own innate memories. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she asked, ”Did you have this Skill the moment you hatched?”

”It’s an inherited craft!” Big Turtle said happily. ”We are turtles with a noble bloodline.”

A bloodline? Rowan looked at the Sea Survival Game’s Introduction for Big Turtle, which simply read ”Sea Turtle.” Yet, it actually had a special bloodline? Did it have to reach a certain level to unlock it? This seemed to be a complete, well-established system.

Did that mean there was a civilization behind this, one entirely different from Azure? Was this an invasion of civilizations? Rowan’s thoughts began to drift. Since her rebirth, she had seen too many clues, and they all pointed to one thing: a civilization existed within the Sea Survival Game.

It made her wonder what this civilization was like, what its relationship was with the Sea Survival Game, and why Azure had been dragged into it. There were simply too few clues! Therefore, every time a new one appeared, it always left a deep impression on her mind.

”Then do you mind if I record this recipe and sell it to other players?” Rowan asked Big Turtle, pulling herself out of her reverie.

Composting would be a great boon for some players, especially those with Farming Skills. If these farming players could produce fertilizer, whether for their own use or for sale, it would increase the amount of vegetables, fruits, and trees circulating among the player base. Allowing more players to have enough to eat and drink was undeniably a good thing.

”Of course!” Big Turtle said without hesitation. ”My memories tell me that I can share this with more races.”

More races? This was yet another new clue. Did ”races” refer to different animals? Or did it mean humans and other creatures of Wisdom distinct from humanity? Rowan committed this detail to memory.

”Thank you,” Rowan said earnestly. ”This method should sell for quite a bit of money. Once it sells, if there’s anything you want, as long as it’s within my power, I will definitely buy it for you.”

As she spoke, she gave Big Turtle a brief rundown of everything she could currently purchase.

”Just get me a bunch of different seeds, and that’ll be enough!” Big Turtle said cheerfully. It really liked its master.

”Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for them,” Rowan agreed. She had already finished preparing the various resources Big Turtle had just mentioned, placing them in a nearby Storage Box.

”I’ve stored all the fish caught by the fishing net in there, so you can process them as you see fit,” she continued. ”As for the bird droppings...”

Rowan’s gaze shifted directly to the Seagull Family resting nearby. ”Big Turtle, you can collect those from them!”

Hearing this, the Seagull Family immediately flew over.

”You want some? I can poop right now.”

”I could probably squeeze some out.”

”Where should I poop?”

”...”

Rowan was speechless. This conversation was simply too pungent.

Comfortably leaving the matter in Big Turtle’s hands, Rowan moved to the side and began browsing the Sea Survival Shop’s interface. At that moment, the main chat group was bustling with activity, buzzing with discussions about the newly appeared Antidote.

”***: An Antidote recipe? Is this specifically for the current natural disaster?”

”***: It feels like it just popped out of nowhere.”

”***: The price is pretty steep, too.”

”Refiner Jenson Thorne: I bought it, but I can’t find the required materials right now.”

”Alchemist Lindsay Sawyer: I have finished Antidotes here. Private message me if you need any.”

”@Lindsay Sawyer: Are you the one selling the Antidote recipe?”

”Alchemist Lindsay Sawyer: Nope! But the seller traded with me for the raw material seeds. So far, there are only two suppliers for the Antidote. Quantities are limited, so it’s first come, first served.”

”@Lindsay Sawyer: Can I buy some seeds from you?”

”Alchemist Lindsay Sawyer: The seeds are constantly being planted right now to expand production, so they’re temporarily not for sale.”

”...”

Reading this, Rowan paused. The person Lindsay Sawyer mentioned had to be Jaina Harmon!

As for why Lindsay would directly reveal her identity in the main player chat, Rowan noticed that many other players had also gradually started exposing their identities. They did this to facilitate better trades with others. Especially for those with higher rankings, revealing their names was indeed an effective way to attract more attention.

Rowan actually thought this was a good development. If more and more players could benefit from selling goods, recipes, and blueprints, it would only make these items more widely circulated, ultimately benefiting a greater number of players.

With this in mind, Rowan once again chose to list an information-based product. To increase the competitiveness of her listing, she decided to use her own name again.

[Rowan Rhodes Teaches You How to Produce Fertilizer Without a Blueprint (Farming Skill Player Edition)]

After editing the listing in order and confirming there were no mistakes, she published it directly. Once it was live, Rowan even went into a few smaller group chats to ”advertise” it.

[Farming Group]

”***: Rowan Rhodes just posted an information product! She says players with the Farming Skill can produce fertilizer.”

”***: Does that mean all of us can do it?”

”***: I saw it. It’s 99 Trading Coins, which feels a bit expensive! Her last one was only 1 Trading Coin.”

”***: This is exclusive information, so it’s normal for it to be a bit pricey.”

”***: We absolutely have to buy it!”

”***: Ahhh! I think Boss Rowan is so awesome for being willing to share this.”

”***: Is Boss Rowan a Farming Skill player too?”

”***: If a Farming Skill player can develop to this level, that’s insanely impressive. She’s literally my idol.”

”...”

Watching everyone’s reactions in the group, Rowan paused. Did they misunderstand and think her Skill was Farming? Whatever! She planned to share a lot more information in the future anyway, so she would just leave the players guessing about what her actual Skill was.

Seeing the sales of her newly published information product rising one by one, Rowan looked away from the screen. She figured that every player with a Farming Skill would buy it. Perhaps she could even estimate the total number of such players based on the number of purchases.

Rowan had come to realize that the more players interacted and the more information there was, the higher the value of that information became. And now, regarding the so-called ”zoning”—could it be a way for the Sea Survival Game to restrict player development in the early stages? A confinement enforced through competition.

After all, according to the progression of her previous life, many pieces of Equipment that could solve the problems caused by natural disasters were always just a step too late. They were constantly out of sync.

Who could say that this wasn’t deliberate?
