While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 129: Chapter 120: The Antidote Is the Core

Shortly after finalizing the confirmed team members, Rowan Rhodes noticed that a considerable number of Antidotes were gradually appearing in the Sea Survival Shop. As for Eira Grass Seeds, they were few and far between. After all, those who possessed Eira Grass Seeds preferred to trade them privately, as everyone’s resource needs varied. But even so, the situation was leaps and bounds better than when a single dose was nearly impossible to find.

Through these changes, many players had come to understand one thing: more and more of them were getting their hands on Antidotes. Over the past few hours in particular, the number of Antidotes had exploded. Heated discussions were breaking out across all districts.

”The number of Antidotes has suddenly surged in the past few hours. I even managed to snatch one up. It literally saved my sorry life.”

”It has to do with those hundred-plus Eira Grass Seeds from before. The players with stronger Farming talents have probably harvested them by now.”

”Eira Grass Seeds can be harvested in two hours. Timeline-wise, the fastest players have already grown two batches, and they can craft Antidotes, too.”

”Crafting an Antidote also requires a Medical Table, which means a Level 7 Raft.”

”Hehe, I traded for quite a few Eira Grass Seeds, then swapped them with players who have the Farming Skill for several bundles of Eira Grass. I’ve stockpiled a lot of Antidotes and feel much more secure now.”

”Eira Grass Seeds? Are there a lot of them?”

”I heard they’re circulating privately among the veteran players!”

”Ordinary players like us can only camp at the Sea Survival Shop.”

”I’d say we’re lucky there are so many players trading privately. The more people Farming them, the more Antidotes there are.”

”The price of Antidotes is still too high right now! It’s just a minor poisoning debuff. Using other resources to recover is much better than buying an Antidote.”

”I think so, too. The Antidotes are just being hyped up by a bunch of veteran players. The prices are ridiculously inflated.”

”They only know how to fleece us.”

”I support it, anyway. Since there’s a poisoned status, it obviously means it’s bad for you. Don’t cheap out on this little bit of money and end up getting yourself killed.”

”Exactly.”

”Judging by the previous two natural disasters, the new one will only be stronger.”

”Don’t underestimate this natural disaster.”

Heated discussions were taking place in every district, and District 122 was no exception. In fact, the trading hall in District 122 had the highest number of Antidotes, and there were even appearances of Eira Grass and Eira Grass Seeds. Following District 122’s usual unspoken rules, Zelda Parrish and the others were clearly willing to boost the survival rate within their own district, generously selling good items back to District 122. There were even instances of trading Eira Grass for Coconuts.

This could be considered a special discount Zelda Parrish and her group offered to District 122. Therefore, the players in District 122 were chatting away happily.

”The bigshots are really doing a massive giveaway!”

”I don’t know where all this Eira Grass came from, but suddenly, the things we couldn’t beg for before have become much more common.”

”It’s probably because our District 122 is a special case.”

”I have a feeling it definitely has something to do with Rowan Rhodes.”

”After all, every time there’s a natural disaster, goods related to Rowan Rhodes always show up. And more often than not, those goods turn out to be the deciding factors.”

”Do you guys think Antidotes are a necessity for this natural disaster?”

Celia Lynch: ”I think so. Air purifiers only allow players to stay indoors, while Masks and Equipment allow players to go outside. However, these pieces of Equipment can be broken. Once there’s a breach, players will easily get poisoned. After being poisoned, you need an Antidote. Therefore, I believe Antidotes are the core items. If you have the means, you should prepare a few more!”

”What bigshot Celia Lynch said makes a lot of sense.”

”So, bosses, please hurry up with your Farming and craft more Antidotes. Give us a second lease on life.”

”The number of Antidotes in our district is almost the same as the entire Sea Survival Shop! The bigshots are truly generous.”

”Yeah! And the prices are low, too.”

Harold Thompson: ”Can you sell a few more Eira Grass Seeds?”

Simon Quinn: ”Exactly! Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Put out some more Eira Grass Seeds.”

Zelda Parrish: ”Don’t push your luck. Giving you the chance to snatch them up is already us doing you a favor for being in the same district.”

”@Harold Thompson @Simon Quinn, haha, I suddenly realized you two are really stubborn. You’re still picking fights even now!”

”Yeah, yeah. It really gives off a stupid and malicious vibe.”

Harold Thompson: ”You should be thanking us for existing and letting you know that this game isn’t as peaceful as you think.”

”Oh, so you’re saying we should thank you?”

Amidst the discussion, Harold Thompson and Simon Quinn made another appearance. The moment they popped up, they once again stood out like sore thumbs in District 122’s world channel. However, as raft levels continued to rise, the players had grown stronger and gained more confidence. In particular, the players who were stronger than Harold Thompson and Simon Quinn did not hesitate to talk back to them.

After all, they weren’t afraid of the duo. Besides, those two didn’t even have Positioning Cards!

When Positioning Cards first came out, many players had indeed been worried as they watched the various server-wide location announcements scroll across the world channel. However, as time went by and players paid closer attention, they realized that the people using Positioning Cards were essentially all ranked within the top 10,000. This meant that the players using Positioning Cards were practically the powerhouses of each district.

According to speculation, only the first batch of people to land on the island would obtain Positioning Cards from the abandoned airplane. Thus, the number of Positioning Cards was finite. The probability of these Positioning Cards being used to target ordinary players was quite small, and the chances of Harold Thompson and his companion having Positioning Cards in their possession was just too low.

As for purchasing a Positioning Card, the few that appeared in the Sea Survival Shop were exorbitantly priced, and they only showed up one at a time. After all, everyone knew that if a Positioning Card was used well, it could allow someone to seize the majority of another player’s stash. Unless absolutely desperate, few people would ever sell a Positioning Card.

Mocked by the crowd, Harold Thompson and Simon Quinn couldn’t help but grumble inwardly. In the past, they had at least a few lackeys following them around. But as the days ticked by, their supporters had practically vanished.

Nevertheless, they rationalized the situation for themselves. They knew full well that this world now belonged to the likes of Celia Lynch and Zelda Parrish. However, because of the grudge they had formed from the very beginning, bowing their heads was out of the question! They had no choice but to bite the bullet and keep moving forward, waiting to see if an opportunity would present itself later.

As for whether they would be targeted by other players, they figured that as long as Zelda Parrish and her group didn’t come looking for trouble, they would generally be safe. And Zelda Parrish’s group didn’t seem like the type to actively pick fights.

In their minds, their actions were just a little annoying. It wasn’t a crime punishable by death, right?
