Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

182: Xiao Lu QingyuAfter Qi Fei returned, Lu Qingyu finally didn’t have to be immersed in work all day, and Su Jixing immediately set about arranging business for Lu Qingyu.

Lu Qingyu was not short of money, so he stopped taking any commercial activities. Su Jixing took the time to reply to these commercial invitations by email, and afterwards, when choosing activities for Lu Qingyu, he tried to pick activities with high value for himself or the enterprise.

For example, participating in a program could bring along the company’s own artists, increase the exposure of hotels or hot pot restaurants, and so on.

Among the many invited programs, Su Jixing found a very interesting and exciting one.

A variety show called ”Extreme Heartbeat.” The name sounded a bit exciting, and just as the name suggested, it was a challenge-based variety show that currently ranked first on the variety show charts.

This variety show was in its first season and had only released three episodes so far. Being able to become number one on the variety show charts with just that showed that the first three episodes had something special.

In this program, two guests are chosen for each episode. The guests obtain heat points from the audience through live streaming, where 1,000 heat points equal 1 yuan. The Program Production Team does not interfere with the guests’ activities; as long as their total heat points exceed fifty million, they can redeem and withdraw the heat points for cash.

In the PK between the two sides, the winner can receive an additional one million.

Conversely, if the total heat points do not reach fifty million, the actors get no appearance fee.

The live broadcast lasts for three days, with the filming crew following 24 hours a day.

Among the six contestants in the first three episodes, only one had a total heat value exceeding fifty million; the remaining five challengers all failed.

However, the person who reached fifty million heat points only just crossed the line; it was earned by performing bungee jumping five times for everyone on the last day.

Although he won, he felt mentally traumatized and never wanted to participate again in his life.

During the program, the ways celebrities used to gain heat points were still quite normal: chatting with the audience, singing, live-streaming their work, or performing some talents.

But at some point, the style became more and more skewed, and the things people liked to watch became stranger and stranger.

Later on, they were led by the audience; they would do whatever the audience told them to do, and many people made fools of themselves.

The consequence of doing this was that, on one hand, the variety show’s popularity was extremely high, and ”Extreme Heartbeat” was very good at promoting people—celebrities who participated would surely have more than five hot search topics per episode—but on the other hand, very few people dared to sign up.

When other artists participated in programs, they would communicate taboos with the director’s team, such as not meeting artists with the surname Y, not wearing red, having to have a break at noon, staying in five-star hotels, which makeup artist must be used, etc. But this variety show director did not accept any communication.

I won’t interfere with what you live stream, and you don’t give me all that nonsense.

Lu Qingyu became interested when he saw this variety show. The moment he finished reading the rules, he instantly understood the biggest difficulty under these rules: that celebrities would be led by the nose by the audience.

However, this variety show was really bold, actually daring to promise to convert heat points into cash as rewards and pay them all to the artists.

Lu Qingyu immediately became interested in this variety show. He wondered if the show had prepared enough money; heat points exceeding fifty million would be converted into cash—they’d keep their word, right? This money would definitely be given, right?

“Brother Su, help me sign up for this variety show. I want to participate.”

Su Jixing knew Lu Qingyu would definitely like this variety show, but he still had to remind Lu Qingyu.

“Qingyu, the most popular hashtag for this show right now is making artists eat shit. Are you sure you still want to participate?”

Su Jixing found the relevant hot search topics to show Lu Qingyu. The discussion area for ”Extreme Heartbeat” was simply a chaotic mess.

[I want to see celebrities skydiving; this kind of extreme sport is quite interesting.]

[Jumping into the sea and diving are both good. The weather is hot, so water projects are popular.]

[What kind of thoughts do you all have, just making celebrities do physical labor? What if they get tired? I like watching celebrities eat things; let me introduce you to ghost peppers.]

[Upstairs, surströmming is also good.]

[Plus one for surströmming. I’m just curious how bad it tastes.]

[Does streaking need to be pixelated?]

Lu Qingyu looked around the forum. There was even a list here of things people wanted the celebrities participating in the show to do, and the option of eating shit was far ahead of the rest.

Lu Qingyu was about to laugh. What was this person thinking, eating shit? How are netizens so into such bizarre things nowadays?

It was truly the first time seeing netizens who didn’t value a celebrity’s life as a life.

Lu Qingyu: “I’ll participate.”

Su Jixing received the instruction and went to sign Lu Qingyu up.

Since the variety show didn’t limit activities, he could take this opportunity to promote his own company and industries. Having promotion, exposure, and getting money was a good thing.

At the ”Extreme Heartbeat” production team, everyone was urging the director to update more; they couldn’t get enough, it was simply too exciting.

But because the production team played too hard, not many people had signed up so far. Most were small stars below the third tier who wanted to attract attention and make money.

The director of ”Extreme Heartbeat,” Wang Sheng, looked at the list in his hand. These people had proactively submitted resumes to the production team, and Wang Sheng was not satisfied looking at them.

What the audience wanted to see was not these small characters, but to see real famous celebrities performing hard and acting fawning and flattering.

The Assistant Director said, “Director, our show plays too rough, and the uncertainty is very high. Those big-shot stars don’t really want to participate.”

Wang Sheng: “Go select again. If it really doesn’t work, let our Staff Members go to their doors to invite them.”

The Assistant Director was worried. In the last show, the audience insisted on seeing a female actress who always wore her hair down comb her hair up.

For an ordinary person, this was nothing—isn’t it just tying up hair? It’s not like they asked you to shave it bald. But that actress said her hair was more important than her life and refused to tie it up no matter what. After the show ended, she even broke ties with their production team.

While the Assistant Director was looking miserable, a Staff Member came in and said:

“Director, Lu Qingyu has signed up.”

Wang Sheng shot up from his chair: “Lu Qingyu? Little Lu Qingyu?”

Staff Member: “No, it’s the real Lu Qingyu.”

Wang Sheng was just worrying about not finding a famous person to participate. Hearing it was Lu Qingyu, he immediately said excitedly, “Accept it, hurry up and accept it. You go to his door immediately to find him and sign the contract, don’t let him regret it.”

The Assistant Director stood up: “Okay, I’ll go right now.”

Just as the Assistant Director was about to leave, Wang Sheng called him back.

Assistant Director: “Is there something else?”

Wang Sheng: “Send an invitation to Song Yushuo as well.”

Assistant Director: “Little Lu Qingyu?”

Wang Sheng smiled mischievously: “Exactly, it’s him.”

The Assistant Director asked uncertainly, “Will he accept?”

Wang Sheng: “You’ll know if you ask.”

Lu Qingyu and Little Lu Qingyu having a PK in the same variety show—this sounds very buzzworthy.

Besides, if it weren’t for Song Yushuo’s parents, he wouldn’t be able to get on their variety show on his own.
