Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

161: Are you scared?Mrs. White’s expression changed drastically. Her husband was in the middle of an election period, and if news of his racial discrimination came out, it would certainly have a huge impact.

Mrs. White: ”Speak up, how much money do you want?”

Just an Asian kid; the worst case is just paying him off.

Jody: ”I don’t understand what that means.”

Mrs. White sneered. Pretending to be saintly—even if it went to court, wouldn’t they still want compensation in the end? ”I can give Mr. Lu a sum for emotional distress.”

Lu Qingyu spoke for the first time in a while: ”How much does Mrs. White think this matter is worth?”

Mrs. White said: ”I’ll give you 500,000 USD, and today’s matter will be considered settled.”

She wanted to pay him off with 500,000 USD. He’d heard Stan’s family was quite wealthy, but why did they feel so stingy?

Lu Qingyu turned to Jody: ”She wants to bribe me. Mr. Dunn and the principal can both testify.”

Mr. Dunn and the principal were named, and they nodded subconsciously, though they shrugged when Mrs. White looked over at them.

Why are you looking at us? We’re just telling the truth, what’s the problem?

Jody: ”I’ve noted this down as well; it will be included in the legal letter.”

Mrs. White thought Lu Qingyu wasn’t satisfied: ”500,000 USD is enough for your entire university expenses. Are you still not satisfied with that?”

Mrs. White was a typical bully who picked on the weak. If Jody hadn’t come today, she would have insisted that the school expel him, make him apologize, and pay for medical expenses. Perhaps Mrs. White had used this method to deal with quite a few people for her son before.

Unfortunately, she had kicked an iron plate by provoking him.

Lu Qingyu stood up and stated righteously: ”What I want is justice.”

After saying this, Lu Qingyu stood up, greeted Mr. Dunn and the principal, and turned to leave. Jody and Qi Fei followed behind. Before walking away, Jody said: ”Wait to receive my lovely legal letter.”

Mrs. White’s face was livid. This matter had exceeded her expectations, and it was likely going to be difficult to handle.

Once outside, Lu Qingyu headed home. It was only today that Jody learned the biggest boss of the company he served was actually this child who was still in school.

Jody: ”Mr. Lu, after I return, I will immediately send them a legal letter. How much do you think would be appropriate for them to pay in compensation?”

Lu Qingyu flexed his wrists and looked at the blue sky outside: ”Let’s go to the hospital for a mental evaluation later. As for the rest, nothing else is needed. Asking for 5 million USD for emotional distress isn’t excessive, right?”

Lu Qingyu had increased the amount tenfold with just one sentence. Jody was quite impressed by Lu Qingyu; he certainly dared to ask for it.

Jody: ”That’s a bit difficult.”

Lu Qingyu: ”I’ll increase your legal fees by five percentage points.”

Jody: ”Leave this matter entirely to me.”

Hans had been waiting outside for Lu Qingyu for a long time. Seeing Lu Qingyu come out, he immediately ran up to him.

Seeing Hans approach, Lu Qingyu asked Qi Fei and Jody to wait for him for a moment. Hans came up and asked nervously: ”Lu, how are you? How does the school plan to handle this matter?”

Lu Qingyu shrugged: ”No big problem, just 10 hours of community service.”

Hans: ”Nothing else? Is Stan just letting it go like that?”

Hans was especially afraid that Stan’s family would be relentless.

Lu Qingyu: ”Don’t worry, leave the rest to the lawyer.”

Hans’s eyes widened: ”You have a lawyer?”

Hans had thought Lu Qingyu was just an ordinary student; he hadn’t expected him to have the money to hire a lawyer.

Lu Qingyu smiled: ”You don’t need to take this matter to heart. I actually have another matter I want to ask you about.”

Hans: ”What matter?”

Lu Qingyu: ”Do you want to take on a part-time job to earn some money?”

Hans looked up at Lu Qingyu: ”Are you trying to introduce me to a job? But I already have two part-time jobs now, and I don’t have time to do anything else.”

Lu Qingyu: ”What part-time jobs are you doing now?”

Hans: ”I work part-time at a pizza shop near the school until 10 PM from Monday to Friday, and I work part-time at a bar until 1 AM on weekends.”

Lu Qingyu had thought the part-time jobs Hans was doing were related to his major; he didn’t expect them to be odd jobs.

”Why don’t you look for a visual effects company? Your skills are so good, you should be very popular.”

Hans’s mouth twisted bitterly. How could he not want to? Previously, he had submitted his work to seven or eight film and television companies. These people expressed that they liked his work, but as soon as they saw he was Black, they wouldn’t consider him at all.

”I am Black, and I haven’t graduated yet. Those companies won’t hire me now. Even if they did, it would just be as a general laborer, and it wouldn’t pay as much as my part-time jobs outside, so it’s better to just work outside.”

Lu Qingyu just remembered how serious racial discrimination was in this country, but this actually worked in his favor. He patted Hans on the shoulder: ”Let’s go, I’m taking you somewhere.”

Hans: ”Where are we going?”

Lu Qingyu: ”You’ll know when we get there.”

Hans followed Lu Qingyu into Qi Fei’s car. After Qi Fei dropped Lu Qingyu off at Magic Paradise, he drove back to DS. After Jody went back, he immediately prepared to hold a press conference.

From the moment Hans followed Lu Qingyu into the company building, he had been very reserved. When the receptionist saw Lu Qingyu, she immediately stood up and bowed slightly to him. This action startled Hans; the service attitude of this company was just too good.

Lu Qingyu familiarly led Hans to the third floor, encountering no obstacles along the way.

The interior decoration of Magic Paradise was bright and carried a sense of futuristic high technology. Hans looked at this company with envy; if only he could come to a company like this after graduation.

Hans: ”Lu, what are we doing here?”

There were few people at Magic Paradise to begin with, and everyone was currently busy preparing for the avatar project, so no one noticed Lu Qingyu and Hans. The two of them went straight to the room where Avis worked on the third floor.

Avis was working on the empty scene special effects for avatar. These scenes didn’t require actors to participate, so even if the movie hadn’t started filming yet, they could be done first.

Avis was very troubled right now. He wasn’t particularly satisfied with what they had produced, but Lu Qingyu had told them to do it first, and they would recruit people later to polish it.

It was Hans’s first time in such a place. Seeing the professional equipment in the room, he couldn’t help but cover his mouth: ”My god, this place is so cool.”

Avis saw through the glass window that Lu Qingyu had arrived and immediately put down his work and came out.

”Boss, you’re here.”

Hans, who had been immersed in the equipment, was shocked to hear Avis call Lu Qingyu ”Boss.”

”Boss?”

Lu Qingyu: ”This company is mine. We are currently preparing to shoot a movie called avatar. Avis is my special effects team leader, and he is currently producing empty shots.”

”I want to invite you to work here and help me complete the production of avatar. I can offer you a salary of 200,000 USD, how about it?”
