Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

176: Didn’t I say I was rescuing the hostages?Harry: ”No matter who you are, you’re leaving your life here today.”

They wanted Moray; as long as Moray was in their hands, it was fine. Others didn’t matter at all.

Lu Qingyu sensed the murderous intent in Harry’s eyes. ”Wait, I have something to say.”

Harry sneered, ”If you have something to say, tell it to God.”

Lu Qingyu narrowed his eyes. If they couldn’t talk, then forget it.

The AK he had just snatched from the kidnapper still had half a clip of bullets.

To protect Moray, Lu Qingyu kicked him into the nearby reeds before Harry could act.

Before Moray could react, his body went flying, and he tumbled into the reed bed. Then he heard the sound of gunshots, fists and feet, and screams beside him.

Terrified, he covered his head and fell into a state of panic.

He didn’t want to die; he had just escaped and still wanted to see his father. But the bullets outside seemed like they could hit him at any moment.

Moray didn’t get up even after the surroundings went quiet; eventually, Lu Qingyu had to pull him out.

”Get up. Are you okay? I kicked your butt just now, so don’t try to play the victim.”

Hearing Lu Qingyu’s voice, Moray slowly raised his head. Lu Qingyu stood before him unscathed, while the four people opposite them lay on the ground in various bizarre positions.

”T-They...?”

Lu Qingyu: ”How many people are in their gang in total? Are there any others?”

Lu Qingyu was afraid that if he finished these off and another larger group came, it would be over.

This time Moray shook his head. ”No, no more. I’ve only seen eight of them.”

Lu Qingyu felt relieved. ”Alright, let’s go then.”

Lu Qingyu set off again with Moray. It was already very dark. Lu Qingyu had a light on him. Whether Moray was afraid of the dark or the kidnappers, he gripped Lu Qingyu’s hem tightly and wouldn’t let go.

Moray’s father had been in a panic since the kidnappers’ last call. He questioned the security captain why he had sent people to rescue without his consent. Now that the kidnappers knew, his son was doomed.

Moray’s father finally called the police, and they began their investigation.

Moray’s father repeatedly urged that this matter be kept secret, but he underestimated the shamelessness of some reporters.

The mobilization of a large police force made them realize something was unusual. As long as the money was right, there was no information they couldn’t get.

Then, in less than half an hour, the news swept across the United States.

Su Jixing let the other employees leave first, while he and Hans stayed behind to wait for Lu Qingyu’s return.

While waiting for Lu Qingyu, Hans idly browsed the news on his phone.

Hans: ”Oh my god, Kane Bailey’s son is dead.”

Su Jixing: ”Who is Kane Bailey?”

Avis: ”You don’t know? He’s 4th on the Forbes World Billionaires List. Their family is in medical equipment; 80% of the medical equipment in the US comes from them.”

Su Jixing: ”In medical equipment? Then his family must have a lot of connections. What disease does his son have?”

Hans: ”It’s not a disease; he was kidnapped. It seems it happened a couple of days ago, but the news was only released today.”

Su Jixing: ”Kidnapped? Did they kill the hostage because the ransom wasn’t settled?”

Hans: ”I don’t know, the details weren’t mentioned. But it’s a pity; Kane Bailey only has this one child. The kid is so handsome and from such a good family. If he were alive, who knows what he could have become.”

Su Jixing had an occupational habit: as soon as he heard someone was handsome, he wanted to see what they looked like.

He leaned over to look at Hans’s phone. A seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy was wearing a school uniform; the photo looked like a candid shot taken on his way to school.

The photo wasn’t very clear, but one could still sense Moray’s perfect body proportions and finely sculpted features.

”Indeed, he’s really handsome. If he came to Dragon Kingdom to be an actor, he’d definitely be a heartbreaker.”

Lu Qingyu finally returned. ”What are you looking at?”

Su Jixing: ”Boss, we’re looking at the news about a billionaire’s son being kidnapped and kil— *hiss*—”

Su Jixing and Hans gasped when their eyes fell on the face of the boy behind him.

Hans’s eyes widened. He thought he was seeing things, his gaze darting back and forth between the phone and Moray.

After looking back and forth four or five times, Hans finally confirmed—this was fucking Moray.

He hadn’t even changed out of his school uniform!

Hans: ”Are you Moray?”

Moray didn’t speak; he just looked at Lu Qingyu.

Su Jixing pointed at the person behind Lu Qingyu and said, ”Boss, you... this... huh?”

Lu Qingyu: ”Oh right, does anyone have a phone with battery? Lend it to him for a moment.”

Hans instinctively handed over his phone, not even having closed the page about Moray being killed.

Moray glanced at it, closed the page, and then called his dad.

Kane Bailey was anxiously waiting for any information. The moment the phone rang, the surrounding police officers stood up. Thinking it was the kidnappers calling, he immediately answered.

”Hello? What have you done to my son?”

Hearing his father’s voice, Moray called out, ”Dad.”

Hearing his son’s voice, Kane Bailey’s tears instantly fell.

”Moray, Moray, are you okay? Daddy will save you.”

Moray’s tears also fell. ”Dad, I’ve been rescued. I’m at...”

When it came to the address, Moray glanced at Lu Qingyu. Lu Qingyu pointed to the address on the base wall, and Moray reported it to his father.

Hearing that his son had been rescued, Kane Bailey still couldn’t quite believe it.

Hearing the address, he immediately headed over with his people.

Hanging up the phone, Su Jixing pulled Lu Qingyu aside. ”Qingyu, what’s going on?”

Lu Qingyu was a bit hungry now; today’s exertion had been too much. He took some bread from the base, opened the packaging, and started eating. Moray continued to stay by his side, so Lu Qingyu got one for him as well and gave him a bottle of water.

Moray took it, took a small sip of water first, then tore open the bread packaging and started eating.

Having not eaten for two days, he hadn’t felt hungry due to the tension. But now, being by Lu Qingyu’s side, he suddenly relaxed, and the hunger rushed in.

While eating, Lu Qingyu said to Su Jixing, ”Didn’t I tell you on the phone? I rescued a hostage.”

Su Jixing: !!! He was completely speechless; he hadn’t realized that the ’hostage’ Lu Qingyu mentioned was an actual hostage.

Lu Qingyu: ”The gang that kidnapped him used a small wooden cabin on this mountain of our game as their base. I thought it was a buff set up for our game at the time, so I went in to rescue him.”

Lu Qingyu spoke nonchalantly, but Su Jixing listened with trepidation. Those were kidnappers, and Lu Qingyu was alone; if he had been caught, they would have definitely silenced him.

Su Jixing: ”And what about those people?”

Lu Qingyu: ”I caught them. If we call the police now, they should still be able to get them.”

Hans listened in stunned silence, while Su Jixing felt it was nothing out of the ordinary.

But they didn’t need to call the police. In less than twenty minutes, the four of them were surrounded by forty or fifty police officers.
