Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

152: Going abroadThe institutions and schools that were supposedly receiving donations saw the news and came forward to clarify that they had never received any large donations, let alone any money donated under the name ’Zhang Yabo’.

The first person to clarify this matter was the principal of a mountain village primary school. The school was poor, the signal in the mountains was bad, and the principal didn’t use the internet, so he hadn’t known at first. However, he had a Granddaughter who attended school in the city.

The Granddaughter saw the news online and called her grandfather to ask if a person named Zhang Yabo had donated money to their school.

According to the list compiled by Zhang Yabo’s fans, their primary school had been donated 800,000 yuan. The old principal was shocked when he heard this; when had they ever received such a large sum of money?

One couldn’t just talk nonsense about such things. The school was already struggling to operate, and if word got out that the school had been donated 800,000 yuan but the money couldn’t be seen, wouldn’t people suspect him of embezzlement? Wouldn’t that ruin his reputation?

The old principal realized the severity of the situation and asked his Granddaughter to record a video to clarify things.

Because the old principal looked like an old farmer and was using his Granddaughter’s account, everyone thought he was some scammer trying to gain clout and didn’t pay any attention. When the video was first posted, it had no impact at all, not even reaching ten likes.

However, this video happened to be seen by a reporter. What reporters love most is to be skeptical—where there’s smoke, there’s fire. So, he investigated and contacted the organizations on the list compiled by netizens one by one. This investigation revealed that out of the 38 Hope Primary Schools, only two had received anything. These were the two Zhang Yabo had used for filming promotional materials, and they hadn’t received the 1 million and 700,000 yuan as listed; they had only received 100,000 yuan each.

Thus, the matter of Zhang Yabo’s fake donations was brought up again. This time, the scope of influence was even larger, directly causing the image he had carefully maintained for so many years to collapse.

Zhang Yabo’s acting career took a heavy hit. The brands he endorsed all demanded contract termination and compensation; his professional career was basically ruined.

Lu Qingyu glanced at the news: ”This reputation collapsed way too fast.”

”Sigh, one needs a conscience to survive in the entertainment industry.”

Su Jixing looked Lu Qingyu up and down; it seemed their family’s little brother really did have a bit of a metaphysical constitution.

Universities abroad had started their semesters. After Lu Qingyu arranged these domestic affairs, he left with Su Jixing.

Lu Qingyu slept for several hours on the plane. By the time they got off, it was four o’clock in the afternoon.

Qi Fei had already been waiting at the airport for over half an hour when he finally spotted Lu Qingyu.

”Boss, over here.”

Standing behind Qi Fei was his assistant, Amy. Amy had known for a long time that the company had another boss, and she had always been curious about who this person was.

Hearing Qi Fei call out toward the VIP passage, Amy immediately looked over.

There were very few people in the VIP passage. Three people were walking toward them. One looked to be in his fifties, was on the heavier side, had a potbelly, a receding hairline, and a greasy appearance. Amy was a bit disappointed; this boss wasn’t good-looking, but then she felt it was normal—shouldn’t bosses all look like this?

However, the young man behind the big boss, wearing sunglasses, was he an actor or a model? He was so handsome.

Amy stood to the side, and when that balding middle-aged man walked up to them, she considerately stepped forward to take his briefcase.

”Boss, let me take that.”

The man was suddenly stunned. Was America this open? Soliciting directly in the airport? Wasn’t she afraid of being caught?

”Miss, I don’t need any services.”

Amy: ??? ”What services?”

This boss was far too frivolous, actually thinking she was that kind of person.

Just as Amy was about to complain to Qi Fei, Qi Fei said:

”Amy, what are you doing?”

Amy: ”Manager, I was kindly trying to take the boss’s bag, how could he say that about himself?”

”This is so disrespect— Oh my god, he’s not the boss!”

Amy covered her mouth in shock. By now, Lu Qingyu was already standing beside Qi Fei, and Qi Fei was reaching out to take Lu Qingyu’s backpack. Seeing Qi Fei’s actions, Amy instantly realized she had recognized the wrong person.

Amy immediately returned the briefcase to that man: ”I’m so, so sorry, I recognized the wrong person.”

The man said nothing, took his bag, and left. Amy’s face was beet red.

To have actually made such a huge blunder, Amy stood behind Qi Fei feeling quite embarrassed and stole a couple of glances at Lu Qingyu.

She hadn’t expected the company’s boss to be so young; did he even look sixteen?

Moreover, he wasn’t just young, he was also very handsome. Meeting Lu Qingyu’s smiling eyes, Amy’s face turned even redder.

Qi Fei looked at Amy’s embarrassment and then introduced her to Lu Qingyu: ”Boss, she is my secretary, Amy.”

”Amy, this is our company’s boss, Lu.”

Amy hurriedly greeted Lu Qingyu.

The little episode passed quickly. Tomorrow was the day classes started. Lu Qingyu said, ”First, take us to where we’ll be staying.”

Qi Fei nodded to lead the way and took Lu Qingyu to the house he had prepared.

Because security abroad isn’t great, Qi Fei had specifically chosen a small villa in a famous wealthy area near the school. Many wealthy people sent their children here for their safety. There was 24-hour security, and no one could enter without a residential permit. It was only two blocks away from the school.

Having reached the villa, Qi Fei said: ”Boss, I’ve already had this house cleaned. Everything has been replaced with new items, and daily necessities are fully stocked. See if there’s anything else you need?”

Lu Qingyu looked around; the house was indeed very clean, and the fridge was even stuffed with fresh vegetables and fruits.

”Nothing else. Help me find a means of transportation; you won’t need to pick me up or drop me off for school in the future.”

Qi Fei: ”Alright, Boss. I’ll have it delivered to you tomorrow.”

After Qi Fei left, Su Jixing began unpacking the luggage:

”Qingyu, what do you want to eat tonight?”

For some reason, Lu Qingyu was already missing domestic braised pork, Double Cooked Pork Slices, Kung Pao Chicken, and large pork shanks, even though he had only just gone abroad.

”Just make whatever; I’m quite tired today.”

Business abroad needed to be developed slowly. Su Jixing was now moonlighting as Lu Qingyu’s housekeeper; during the time he was in school, all matters of daily life would be left to him.

Su Jixing was well-versed in such things. In his first two years as an Agent, this was exactly the kind of work he did.

Opening the fridge and glancing at the food inside, Su Jixing took out some eggs and tomatoes, and then some beef.

Tonight, he would make Scrambled Eggs with Tomatoes, then some Spicy Stir-fried Beef, and a soup—a simple meal of one meat and one veggie.

Early the next morning, after Lu Qingyu finished getting ready to report to the school, Qi Fei came to deliver his transportation. As soon as Lu Qingyu stepped out the door, his eyes were nearly blinded.

Lu Qingyu: ”Ferrari SP3, Daytona, limited to 599 units worldwide.”
