Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

166: What clothes should Zhang wear?Seeing this, everyone started discussing it frantically.

”You can tell who will win just by looking at the photos, right?”

”Anna’s style has always been the trendiest, and she’s second on the popularity chart. She’s definitely going to win.”

”Is this the candidate for the female lead in the avatar auditions? I doubt the aesthetic sense of the avatar movie.”

”If someone like her can be selected, why did I get rejected?”

”Black Swan versus Ugly Duckling—is there any suspense here?”

”I bet five hundred dollars that Anna will definitely win.”

Originally, the avatar auditions were scheduled after the school anniversary ball, but for the sake of promotional pacing, Lu Qingyu had someone move the date to the day before the ball.

The promotion for avatar needed to utilize Carter. If her acting skills were up to par, they would promote it as the matter of the avatar female lead. If not, Lu Qingyu would still give her a supporting role, and they would just need to change the word ’female lead’ to ’actor’ when promoting.

In any case, he was determined to ride this wave of popularity.

Carter had originally been worried about the ball, but who would have thought she would suddenly receive news that the audition had been moved up? The sudden situation left her completely stunned.

But there was no choice; she had to go. So, unprepared, Carter had no choice but to go to the audition first.

Lu Qingyu didn’t show up; he left the task of judging acting skills to the director. However, Carter was quite impressive. Among the ten candidates, Carter’s portrayal of the character was the best.

In two hours, all ten candidates for the lead role had been interviewed. In the end, the director chose Carter based on her overall qualifications.

Lu Qingyu was quite satisfied with this result. Su Jixing said, ”Boss, I think Carter has a lot of potential. She might even become a Hollywood diva in the future.”

Lu Qingyu asked, ”Is the press release written?”

Su Jixing replied, ”It was written long ago, just as you instructed.”

Lu Qingyu said, ”Release it to the onlookers. One must be proactive when it comes to riding waves of popularity. The joy of getting something for free is truly delightful.”

When it came to riding waves of popularity, Su Jixing couldn’t help but admire Lu Qingyu. The online discussion about avatar had already entered the top five on the hot search topics list.

Their school was famous, and the elites who graduated from it were now accomplished people in various industries. These people had sent blessings for their alma mater’s anniversary, and avatar had gained a wave of popularity from them. Meanwhile, the topic of the battle between the Black Swan and the Ugly Duckling had fully captured the curiosity of young people. Their boss truly knew what foreigners liked to watch.

Previously, none of the films from Magic Paradise had ever made it onto the hot search topics list, but Lu Qingyu had easily gotten this film on it.

Su Jixing said, ”We’ve saved at least 30 million US dollars in promotional costs this time.”

Lu Qingyu said, ”Making money is happy, of course, but spending it is even happier.”

After the interview, Carter sat outside with the other 9 candidates, anxiously waiting for the results.

She didn’t know if she would succeed, but she had already tried her best.

Now, she could only pray silently, hoping to receive God’s blessing.

Half an hour later, Su Jixing arrived at the waiting room with the audition results. Seeing him, everyone stood up one after another.

Standing in the crowd, Carter felt flustered from the moment Su Jixing appeared; her heart was already out of control.

The other 9 candidates were in much the same state as Carter. Su Jixing walked towards them without stopping. Every time he passed someone, it seemed as if one could hear that person’s disappointed sigh.

Carter kept her head down, yet she was sensitively aware of her surroundings.

She felt Su Jixing’s footsteps slow down. When he reached her, Su Jixing actually stopped.

Carter looked up at the person in front of her in disbelief, only to see Su Jixing holding a contract, smiling and saying to Carter:

”Congratulations, Ms. Carter. You have become the female lead of our avatar movie.”

For a moment, Carter almost suspected she was hallucinating. She felt the hairs on her body stand up; that unexpected surprise swept over her like a waterfall.

She couldn’t quite believe that she had really become the female lead of this production; it was all too dreamlike.

Carter subconsciously pinched herself. The pain in her arm didn’t make her feel uncomfortable; instead, it made her feel incredibly joyful. It was real; she had truly become the female lead of the avatar movie.

Carter took the contract and bowed to Su Jixing.

”Thank you, thank you, Mr. Su.”

Su Jixing smiled and said, ”Don’t thank me; this is what you deserve. Your acting skills conquered both me and the director of this film. We feel that you are very malleable, and we hope you will continue to work hard.”

”Also, I heard you are attending the school anniversary ball tomorrow.”

Carter widened her eyes, not expecting that even Mr. Su and the others would know about this.

Carter remembered the bet she had with Anna and said with some trepidation:

”Yes, Mr. Su. Not only am I attending the school anniversary ball, but I also made a bet with a classmate. If I can’t win the title of campus queen, I have to withdraw from the avatar audition.”

Carter’s voice became quieter and quieter. She felt she was being too ungrateful; them choosing her was her luck and honor, yet she had used this as a wager.

Su Jixing was well aware of this matter, after all, the situation fermenting to this point was all orchestrated by his boss.

However, the Ugly Duckling making a comeback and defeating the Black Swan sounded very inspiring and dramatic. Such news would definitely ignite the entire internet.

Su Jixing remembered Lu Qingyu’s previous instructions—Carter had to win the school ball beautifully—so he said to Carter:

”Our company has very professional designers. I don’t know if you’ve chosen a gown yet. If you haven’t prepared one, we can help you with styling and provide the clothing for free.”

Carter had originally thought Su Jixing would reprimand her for her actions, but she didn’t expect Su Jixing to actually help her, and to solve her biggest current problem—the gown and styling.

”Really, Mr. Su?”

Su Jixing smiled and said, ”Of course it’s real.”

Carter felt that the luck she had accumulated for over 10 years had suddenly exploded at this moment.

Oh my god, how could she be so lucky!

Carter excitedly said to Su Jixing:

”If that’s the case, then thank you so much. I haven’t chosen my dress yet, and I’m not particularly good at makeup. If I can get your help, it would really solve a huge problem for me.”

Su Jixing laughed heartily, ”Let’s go, I’ll take you to the stylist to try on some clothes.”

Carter followed Su Jixing and left, leaving only the other 9 girls in the room, who cast envious glances at Carter’s back.

Because the project for avatar had already begun, the makeup artists, fashion designers, and others were already in place. Carter’s timing was also good; if it had been two days earlier, the company wouldn’t have had such a complete team, and they wouldn’t have been able to help her with anything.

Upon arriving at the dressing room, Carter saw a row of gowns on the clothing racks, each one very beautiful. Carter subconsciously picked up the tag of one of the dresses. At a glance, she gasped—this dress was actually haute couture from Chanel!

But who stores haute couture like this, just tangled up in a pile of clothes? Shouldn’t it be displayed on a mannequin in the most beautiful storefront window?

This thought, after Carter picked up the second piece and looked at it, fizzled out like a dud firecracker, blowing itself up.

Because this one was also haute couture. Not only was this one haute couture, but this entire row was haute couture.

Carter swore she had never seen so much haute couture in one place in her entire life.

The fashion designer was called over by Su Jixing and then kindly said to Carter:

”See which dress you like, and we can try it on.”

Carter opened her mouth wide. Oh my god, she loved them so much.

Every single dress here was so beautiful.
