Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

163: Take advantage of his illness to kill himAt the same time, the news of Lu Qingyu’s fight had caused a massive stir at school. The school had not yet released any punishment regarding Lu Qingyu and Stan, and everyone was incredibly curious about the matter.

Anna and Jenny planned to go to Stan’s house to pay him a visit.

On the way, Anna let out a sigh. ”Jenny, Lu’s outcome this time is bound to be miserable.”

Jenny replied, ”Stan’s mother is so powerful, and she even went to the school in person. Lu will probably be expelled.”

Anna added, ”It’s a pity, but who told him to meddle in other people’s business? Besides, Lu is too ungrateful. If he had just gotten along with us, you definitely would have pleaded with Stan on his behalf, Jenny. Now, that poor boy is about to ruin his own future.”

Jenny had ’accidentally’ run into Lu Qingyu several times at school in private, but every time she ended up being ignored. Now, anticipating that Lu Qingyu would be expelled, Jenny actually felt quite relieved.

”This is why they stay poor. Offending Stan just to stand up for a black person is simply stupid. He can’t even grasp something as important as connections; he’ll never be able to integrate into the circles of the wealthy when he enters society later.”

Anna and Jenny arrived at Stan’s door. After ringing the doorbell, the butler opened the door.

The butler saw the two of them but did not invite them inside.

Jenny lived in the same neighborhood as Stan, so the butler recognized her. ”Miss Jenny, I’m sorry, we are not receiving guests today.”

Stan’s father was a politician, so guests coming to the house usually needed to give notice in advance. However, every time Jenny came to see Stan, the butler would usually invite her in.

After being rejected by the butler, Jenny peered into the house, thinking that Stan’s father might be hosting some important guest, making it inconvenient for them to enter.

Jenny said, ”I’m here to see Stan. He was injured at school, and I want to know how he’s doing.”

The butler replied, ”Young Master Stan’s injuries are no longer a major concern. Thank you for your concern.”

The butler remained standing at the door, preventing Jenny and Anna from entering, and Jenny couldn’t exactly force her way in.

”Alright then. I’m relieved to know Stan is okay. I’ll come back to see him another day.”

Since they didn’t get to see him, Jenny and Anna sent Stan a couple of messages, but unfortunately, they received no reply.

As the butler closed the door, the sound of things being smashed came from the second floor. This time, not only was Stan beaten, but Mrs. White was also hit.

Jody was very fast. He had just announced on social media that he would be holding a press conference to disclose a major event. The relevant reporters already knew what Jody was going to talk about, and Stan’s father had also received the news.

Currently, his votes were neck-and-neck with his opponent’s, but once Jody’s press conference was held, it would definitely affect his polling.

Stan’s father held a belt and lashed it violently against the two of them.

These two useless fools. With the election imminent, they had actually caused him such a huge mess.

”How many times have I told you not to cause trouble for me during this period? Did you treat my words as wind passing through your ears?”

Mrs. White was terrified now. ”I didn’t expect that poor boy to hire Jody.”

At this, Mr. White whipped Mrs. White again. ”You’re an idiot too. How did I ever take an interest in you back then?”

Mrs. White didn’t even dare to speak. Stan, who bullied others outside, was now so cowardly at home that he didn’t dare utter a word.

After cooling his temper slightly, Mr. White said, ”Go contact that student. Give him five million dollars to drop the lawsuit and cancel the press conference.”

When Mrs. White heard ’five million,’ she couldn’t help but cry out, ”Five million? That’s too much!”

Mr. White swept a cold glance over her, and Mrs. White immediately fell silent. He had chosen Mrs. White because she was a lawyer; he thought a lawyer would be rational and wouldn’t be as stupid as other women. But looking at the result now, he had been deceived.

This woman was stupid, and the child she bore him was also stupid. If Stan weren’t his son, he would have beaten him to death long ago.

What was five million? If he succeeded in the election, he would gain tens of billions. But if he failed, it was definitely not something five million dollars could solve.

”Stabilize him first. Once things are settled on my end, you can do whatever you want to him.”

Lu Qingyu was on their turf; wouldn’t it be up to them to decide what to do?

Mrs. White understood Mr. White’s meaning and went to contact Jody.

As a celebrity lawyer, Jody had many supporters online. Mrs. White went to Jody’s office in person to discuss the matter.

Mrs. White believed that they might reject 500,000 dollars, but that poor brat Lu Qingyu would certainly not reject five million dollars. After all, he probably wouldn’t earn that much money in his entire lifetime.

Mrs. White spoke condescendingly with Jody for ten minutes. After she left, Jody called Lu Qingyu. To be honest, Mrs. White and her family were being very generous this time; five million dollars was not a small sum, and even he was a bit tempted.

But he didn’t expect Lu Qingyu to reject it decisively after hearing about it.

Was this a joke? Did they really think he was an innocent novice who knew nothing? Since they were willing to pay so much money to settle this, it meant the impact on them was enormous. If he took the money, he would lose all his leverage, and he would be the one in the wrong then.

Moreover, given Stan’s father’s position, once he recovered, he would surely find ways to cause trouble for him everywhere.

Lu Qingyu understood the principle of striking while the enemy is down.

”Move the press conference forward.”

Jody was a bit excited; he felt a rush of adrenaline every time he did something like this.

”Alright, Mr. Lu.”

On her way home in the car, Mrs. White thought she had settled the matter. Unexpectedly, as soon as she got home, she was greeted by a teacup thrown by Mr. White, which hit her square on the head.

Mr. White was absolutely fuming this time. ”Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!”

Mr. White said the word ’idiot’ three times in a row.

Jody’s speed was too fast. As soon as the press conference was held, Mr. White’s support rate dropped from 23% to 19%.

This year was supposed to be his most hopeful for election, but it was ruined by the two ’pig teammates’ in his family.

The next day at school, Anna and Jenny heard the news that Stan was going to transfer schools as soon as they arrived.

Anna asked, ”How could this happen?”

Jenny was also stunned when she first received the news; this outcome was something she had never expected.

”Didn’t you see the news? Lu hired Jody Black as his lawyer. They held a press conference, and Stan dragged down his father, Mr. White. Because it involved racial discrimination, his support rate dropped. I guess that’s why they’re moving to Florida.”

Anna found it unbelievable that Stan had actually fallen. ”Then what about Lu?”
