Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

178: Cocktail partyMoray was clearly unaware of this. While Lu Qingyu was pondering the matter, Kane Bailey assumed Lu Qingyu was reluctant to take care of his child.

He valued the qualities he saw in Lu Qingyu and genuinely liked the young man. Furthermore, the age difference between Lu Qingyu and Moray was small, so if he could mentor Moray, it would be absolutely wonderful.

Kane Bailey said, ”Moray is a child, and he is very obedient. Dragon Country is a nation with an excellent culture. I want to send him there to gain some experience. Of course, I won’t let you look after him for free. I know you are very interested in real estate. Our Bailey Family plans to expand 20 five-star hotels in Dragon Country. If you are willing, we can cooperate.”

When business was mentioned, Lu Qingyu’s eyes lit up. The Bailey Family was world-renowned. With their power, they didn’t need any cooperation; many people wanted to invest money with them but had no way in.

Their family had established hotels, fame, their own service system, and unique features. Being able to invest in such an industry was incredibly exciting.

Moreover, Moray was their family’s sole heir. If he took the Bailey Family’s Crown Prince under his wing, business would proceed smoothly from then on, just based on that fact.

Lu Qingyu said, ”Although I have only known Moray for two days, I know he must be a very outstanding person.”

Kane Bailey smiled happily, and Moray was also extremely joyful.

Seeing that he had achieved his goal, Kane Bailey said, ”Tomorrow night, I will invite friends from the industry to a cocktail party. You should come along.”

Kane Bailey wanted to introduce Lu Qingyu to everyone. This circle, consisting entirely of financial magnates, was extremely difficult to enter and highly exclusive. There was no reason for Lu Qingyu not to attend.

”Thank you, Mr. Bailey.”

This banquet was actually something Kane Bailey had planned to hold three months ago. Due to the incident involving Moray, everyone thought Kane would cancel it, but unexpectedly, Moray was safely rescued.

Bailey invited a total of 50 friends, all magnates worth hundreds of millions. From the moment the invitations were sent out, various people started scheming.

After all, at a banquet where so many magnates gathered, if they could just get acquainted with one person, their entire second half of life could immediately take off.

Lu Jin, ever since leaving Dragon Country to study here, spent every day thinking about climbing the social ladder.

Every time he thought about how he was defeated by Lu Qingyu and forced to leave Dragon Country, his hatred for Lu Qingyu intensified.

Fortunately, he had met many influential figures here and had already earned tens of millions through cooperation with them.

Tomorrow, he was going with a friend to meet a very important figure, Kane Bailey, who was the fourth richest person on the worldwide Forbes Ranking. He was powerful and influential; if Lu Jin could seize the opportunity, he would surely turn his fate around.

He would firmly grasp this opportunity and make Kane Bailey see him in a new light.

On the day of the banquet, Lu Jin arrived at the Bailey Family manor with someone else.

His ability to attend this manor event was because he had secretly given his friend one million US dollars. Before coming, he had researched a lot of information about the Bailey Family and learned many things about Kane Bailey’s family.

He also knew that Kane Bailey had only one son, who had been kidnapped a couple of days ago but was now rescued. Since Kane Bailey doted on his son so much, Lu Jin could use this as an entry point.

People came and went at the banquet, and any one of them made Lu Jin’s heart pound. These were all resources and connections, and resources and connections were the most important things in this world.

Lu Jin brought many business cards today, and every time he saw someone, he couldn’t help but want to introduce himself.

”Hello, Mr. Chester, I am Lu Jin, the CEO of Tuoye Finance.”

Tuoye Finance was a financial company Lu Jin registered abroad. He thought that since he was young and accomplished, these magnates should appreciate his talent, but Mr. Chester merely glanced at Lu Jin indifferently.

Tuoye Finance—he had never heard that name before. He had an Asian appearance. Could it be that one of these old guys had an illegitimate son?

Chester asked, ”Who is your father?”

Lu Jin replied, ”My father is a real estate businessman in Dragon Country.”

As soon as Chester heard Lu Jin say this, he immediately understood: this person just wanted to network and climb the ranks.

Lu Jin thought Chester was questioning his ability, so he added, ”Although my father is also a businessman, all the industries I have established here were achieved through my own efforts.”

Chester gave a faint laugh, disappointing Lu Jin. Not only did he fail to see appreciation for his talent in Chester’s eyes, but he was also dismissed.

Chester didn’t even wait for Lu Jin to finish speaking, turning around to catch up with his old friends, leaving Lu Jin standing alone awkwardly.

Lu Jin thought he was impressive, but in reality, to Chester, hundreds of people like Lu Jin wanted to meet him every day, including those who were even more outstanding. But so what? They had seen countless people like this and simply didn’t care.

The only thing they cared about was power.

After being rejected, Lu Jin assumed it was just Chester’s strange temper; perhaps others would treat him differently.

Lu Jin began looking for his next target, but when his eyes landed on a figure in the crowd, he was greatly startled.

Lu Qingyu, how could he be here!

Lu Jin subconsciously felt his palms sweat. He was truly a lingering ghost; he couldn’t believe Lu Qingyu would also attend.

But then again, Lu Qingyu was someone who would stop at nothing for money. Lu Jin wondered who brought him to this banquet, and how much money he must have spent.

Lu Jin glanced at Lu Qingyu and hatched a malicious plan.

The friend who brought Lu Jin in, Simon, was using his father’s invitation card because his father was away on a business trip and couldn’t return.

Lu Jin walked up to Simon and whispered something to him. Simon looked in the direction Lu Jin was pointing, then nodded.

Then the two of them walked toward Lu Qingyu.

When they got close, Simon, holding a glass of wine, deliberately bumped into Lu Qingyu.

His original intention was to spill the wine on Lu Qingyu, scold him, and then have him thrown out.

But Lu Qingyu reacted too quickly; the wine didn’t spill on him, but rather drenched Simon himself.

This time, Simon was genuinely angry.

”Are you blind?”

Lu Qingyu wondered what was going on. He turned around and saw Lu Jin. Did he even need to think? It must have been Lu Jin causing trouble.

Lu Jin had promised to give Simon an extra $500,000 if he helped him get Lu Qingyu thrown out.

Simon wouldn’t have agreed if it were anyone else, but he agreed the moment he saw Lu Qingyu.

It wasn’t because he knew Lu Qingyu, but because Lu Qingyu was too young and an Asian person.
