The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 497: Chapter 211: Top-grade Classical Literature (Part Three)

”Tiantian, calm down, calm down a bit, don’t be so impulsive!”

Student Xiao D sensed He Tiantian’s intense emotional fluctuations and quickly intervened to soothe her.

What’s going on?

Isn’t their Tiantian the most selfish and protective person, how could a trip to the Republic change her to become so fervent and dedicated?

She truly seemed like the rightful successor and true master of Hua Country.

”You give me such a top-grade character and still expect me to stay calm?”

He Tiantian thought that being a bit selfish and indulging in pleasures were normal human behaviors.

But there has to be a limit, damn it.

At the very least, one shouldn’t harm others, much less jeopardize the state and the nation!

And what about the character He Tiantian in this script? Absolutely shameless.

Forget about having a conscience, He Tiantian even questioned if this was still a human being!

Setting aside the nationalist rhetoric and focusing just on her family,

her parents indeed failed her, but wasn’t it unavoidable? Moreover, her relatives tried their best to compensate her afterward.

It wasn’t that they subjectively disliked her or deliberately abandoned her.

What exactly was she holding a grudge for?

Moreover, causing such misery to two elderly who had been faithfully devout all their lives.

She truly didn’t deserve to be a person from Hua Country, nor did she deserve to be someone’s child.

Due to her own reasons, He Tiantian particularly hated irresponsible parents, but she also detested ungrateful ingrates.

”Tiantian, there’s nothing that can be done about it, I’ve said it many times, every book will have its villain.”

”And the reason a villain is a villain is that they definitely do something despicable.”

”Upon closer inspection, the original He Tiantian in the script wasn’t truly beyond redemption—”

Student Xiao D eagerly explained, hoping only that their Tiantian wouldn’t blow up.

”Right! She wasn’t utterly vile, but she was heartless, cold, and most importantly, stupid!”

He Tiantian retorted irritably.

Being bad wasn’t really the issue; it was clear cut and straightforward.

What He Tiantian found most absurd was those who were not only bad and stupid but also bold.

Such people could be more destructive than actual villains.

Because besides harming others, they often left the victims with unspeakable suffering and frustration—

Boohoo, it wasn’t on purpose!

Yes, it wasn’t intentional, but it caused severe harm!

This was even more detestable than malicious villains, who sometimes could control themselves, while these stupid and bad types were utterly uncontrollable.

The last time she encountered such a top-grade character was Guo Fu, but even Guo Fu, at her worst, didn’t betray her country and people.

He Tiantian:...

And that wasn’t even the most infuriating part; it was the system task.

He Tiantian had no doubt that, given the system’s nature, it would force her to maintain the original character setting.

Not break character?

With a character that He Tiantian herself wanted to annihilate just from seeing, and she was supposed to maintain it?!

”No! No!!”

Student Xiao D saw He Tiantian’s strong resistance and exclaimed urgently, ”This task is different from the previous ones!”

He Tiantian glanced at Student Xiao D, ”What’s different? Aren’t you making me the villain anymore?”

Student Xiao D choked a bit, ”We still need to consider the character, but the task isn’t solely about forcing you to be the villain.”

He Tiantian folded her arms.

Student Xiao D didn’t keep the suspense, reciting in a formal manner: ”Ding! Issuing the task: ’Although I am top-grade, I must also contribute to the nation’s construction!’”

Huh?

This task requirement was indeed a bit different from the past.

Previous tasks felt like they were trying to force He Tiantian to become the villain intentionally to contrast with the protagonist, serve as a stepping stone, and drive the plot development.

But this time—

He Tiantian held her breath and reconsidered the script.

Quickly, she spotted a problem, ”This script, although not spectacular, has a complete storyline, and the character portrayal isn’t too bad either!”

It wasn’t an abandoned novel nor did it have an unfinished ending, so there seemed to be no need for a continuation or to open a new plotline.

Moreover, although the script bore the guise of national construction, its core was still about love and relationships.

Several main tasks involved both righteous and villainous characters, the protagonist triumphing over trash, the villain getting their just deserts, and a sweet and satisfying romantic story without regrets.

So, there probably wasn’t any reader wishing to change the fate of the central character!

Wait, a thought flashed through He Tiantian’s mind, she subconsciously asked, ”Was this book complained about by readers?”
