The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 488: Chapter 208: Scum of the Spy Warfare Genre (End)

A year later, at a certain base.

”Quick! Hurry, this is a new batch of supplies that just arrived!”

A troop of Red Party soldiers, hurrying with horse carts, donkey carts, or simply pushing wheelbarrows, arrived massively at a certain warehouse.

They shouted slogans and busied themselves with both hands.

In a short while, the supplies from a warehouse were all moved out by them.

Then, they were quickly transported to the logistics department.

”Old minister, quickly check them!”

”Wow, another two tons of supplies. What do we have here?”

”What else could it be? Of course, it’s the items most urgently needed at the front line!”

”Look here, this is the best anti-inflammatory medicine, said to be much better than sulfonamide.”

”This is gauze, alcohol, and bandages!”

”Goodness, there are rifles and machine guns too, why do I feel like these are different from the ones we captured from the Devil?”

”That’s what you don’t know yet, our spies in the occupied area found a company in Hong Kong that managed to get these newest weapons!”

”Let’s not even talk about the Guo Party next door, even the Devil doesn’t have such great weapons!”

”Wow, and so many bullets? That’s great, our soldiers won’t be afraid of running out of bullets anymore!”

”...The comrades on the secret frontlines have it tough; managing to get such good stuff in the enemy-occupied area!”

”Right, everyone has a tough job. We fight bravely at the front, while the comrades in the enemy-occupied area scheme to gather intelligence and supplies...”

”This must have cost a lot of money, right?”

”...Well, the money was also managed by the comrades on the secret frontlines. Alas, I heard that many comrades even donated their family fortunes, eating coarse grains and tightening their belts just to save money to buy us guns and medicine!”

The logistics minister and a few old soldiers discussed one after another.

In the end, they all fell somewhat silent.

”We shed our blood and sacrifice our lives, and the comrades in the rear are not having an easy life either. We all have only one goal, to drive out the Devil!”

”Yes! United, we can surely defeat the enemy soon!”

Everyone discussed animatedly, their hearts growing hotter.

If the comrades in the enemy-occupied areas could be so selfless and work hard to overcome great difficulties to provide them with the best supplies, what reason did they have not to win?

Qu Anni: ...Actually, that, you know, wasn’t so hard.

Over the past year, Qu Anni always felt like she was living a dream.

Whatever she thought of, she got!

This wasn’t just talk but actual facts that truly happened to her.

For example, the base and the guerilla troops needed medicine, and Comrade Huo Miao and Qu Anni tried their best to find it.

Through the Guo Party’s connections, Comrade Huo Miao managed to get a bit.

But the quantity was too small; sending it to the troops was just a drop in the bucket.

Qu Anni had no choice but to go and feel out her husband, and unexpectedly, her husband, who loved money like life itself, also saw the huge profits in the medicine business.

Relying on the Fujiwara Family as a powerful backer and flaunting their name flagrantly, he actually got hold of a pharmaceutical company and even ordered the development of something called Penicillin.

This medicine had excellent anti-inflammatory effects and low side effects.

As soon as it hit the market, it was snatched up.

Yet Qu Anni, with an approval note from her husband, kept taking out boxes of the medicine.

Later, Qu Anni, using her husband’s smuggling routes, successfully transported the medicine from the occupied area to the liberated area.

Of course, this was just the beginning.

Since the base needed a large quantity of medicine, Qu Anni couldn’t always slyly pull a fast one.

Comrade Huo Miao suggested to the headquarters, and a trade company was established in Shanghai.

Then, acting officially, the trade company purchased large quantities of supplies from the Sugawara Trading Company.

These included not only medicine but also cotton fabric, cotton, milk powder, and other daily necessities.

And the money used to purchase these goods was gathered by Huo Miao Shen Yan, Swan Goose Qu Anni, and some patriotic businesspeople.

Among them, the gold and US Dollars contributed by Qu Anni accounted for more than half.

As things developed, Qu Anni herself didn’t even know how much money she had donated to the organization.

But it was still several hundred thousand US Dollars.

And in that era, several hundred thousand US Dollars was an astronomical figure.

Regarding this, Huo Miao Shen Yan evaluated very fairly, ”Leaving other things aside, just this massive amount of money alone was a significant contribution to the war against Japan!”

Shen Yan was different from outsiders. Outsiders all thought that the donations were personally given by Qu Anni.

But as Qu Anni’s close comrade-in-arms and mentor, Shen Yan knew very clearly—

On the surface, those bars of gold and rolls of US Dollars were donated by Qu Anni.
