The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

He Tiantian once again landed a script where she was the villain.

From the perspective of the villain He Tiantian, the entire plot could be summarized as ”Our entire family is top-grade” or ”My ex-husband is a big shot.”

Just from these titles, one could guess He Tiantian’s role in this story—the top-grade ex-wife.

Indeed, both the original character and her family could truly be called ”top-grade.”

They took advantage of favors owed to them to forcibly bind the male lead, making him marry the original character.

The original character, a woman with no significant educational background, lacking in ability, and nothing to her name except for her looks, had managed to marry into a prestigious family through manipulation. Logically, she should have settled down and enjoyed her life, right?

No, she would not!

Having left the countryside to become an envied city-dweller, an official’s wife, she still wasn’t satisfied.

Through the job arranged by her in-laws, she started an affair with a foreigner.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the setting of this script is in a parallel world at the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s.

It was an era when people began to idolize the belief that ”the moon is rounder overseas than in Hua Country.” Worshipping foreign cultures and focusing solely on money.

The work unit that the original character was assigned to by her mother-in-law was also quite special, a state-run hotel with foreign business.

With her limited education, having only finished high school, even with her mother-in-law pulling strings, she could only be an ordinary server in the hotel.

Yet it was this job, where she could meet foreign guests, that made the original character restless.

She was exposed to a broader world and heard from those foreigners, from developed countries, about even more prosperous and affluent worlds.

She was tempted; she wanted to go abroad, she longed for a better life.

Moreover, her husband was a soldier, often away, hardly ever seen all year round.

The original character felt aggrieved, thinking marrying him was like living as a widow.

After coming into contact with that flashy world, it was as if weeds grew in her heart.

Conveniently, there was an opportunity to go on a business trip to Hong Kong, and the original character begged her mother-in-law persistently, eventually earning a chance to visit Hong Kong.

And once there, she suddenly disappeared from the group.

Later, through letters the original character wrote to her parents, they found out, she had lured a foreigner and using the opportunity of going to Hong Kong, she eloped with him to Japan.

This, this was simply a form of defection.

If the original character’s in-laws had been average people, her behavior would have just been personal vanity.

But the problem was, both her parents-in-law were public servants, and by doing what she did, she not only betrayed her in-laws but also ruined her husband’s career.

If the story had ended there, the original character wouldn’t be considered too top-grade.

But, was that possible?

Student Xiao D was nothing but a troublemaker!

The original character went to Japan, took a Japanese surname, and before she could enjoy her days in a developed nation, she was abandoned by that Japanese man.

At that time, her husband, forced to leave the military and return home, threw himself into the business world and quickly achieved success.

There was no title like ”richest man” at the time, but in their area, her husband, and the book’s male lead, Yan Xingzhou, was indeed a big shot.

By the 1990s, he had amassed a fortune of over a hundred million, with business ventures spread across the country.

”No wonder he’s the male lead, he really can become a big shot in any field!”

He Tiantian admired as she read the script.

With a male lead, there naturally had to be a female lead, a strong-willed woman from humble origins in this book.

She was evenly matched with Yan Xingzhou, the two of them competed and helped each other, and amidst their back-and-forth, sparks of love slowly emerged.

The romance between the male and female leads always had to have some twists and turns, which seemed to be a common ailment in online romance novels.

As if love that hadn’t been tested couldn’t be considered true love.

The original character and her family served as the disgraceful roles that tested the love of the male and female leads.

First were the original character’s parents; before she defected, she had already given birth to a son for the Yan Family, but perhaps out of transferred animosity, or maybe just sheer heartlessness, she didn’t like or care for the child at all.

She left without a second thought for him.

The original character’s own family was also cold-hearted, not caring at all for their poor grandchild.

But, as soon as the news that Yan Xingzhou was to marry the female lead spread, they all came running, holding the child’s hand, insisting on how they pitied the boy who would be mistreated by a stepmother, wanting to take him back home.

The original character’s real mother was particularly combative among the shrews, kicking up a storm, crying, making scenes, threatening to hang herself, as if her family couldn’t live without their cheap grandchild.
