The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 66: Chapter 066 I am the Evil Sister (Twenty-One)

”Ha! Heiha!”

In the martial arts training ground of the Duke Mansion’s backyard, five-year-old Brother Yuan, dressed in snow-white training clothes, followed a Martial Arts Master specially hired by Kang Mo to practice boxing.

Not far from the corridor, a leisure chair was placed, on which the extremely frail He Tiantian lay leisurely.

Nanny Seo and a group of trusted servants were waiting on her side, helping to adjust backrests, thin blankets, fanning, offering tea and water, and cautiously checking on her complexion and health, all busy and attentive.

Now, the whole mansion treated He Tiantian as if she were fragile, fearing she might suffer even the slightest bump or scrape.

Logically, with a physical condition like He Tiantian’s, she should not be staying outdoors at all.

She should be lying in bed resting.

Because even the Imperial Physician could not guarantee that if she closed her eyes tonight, she would be able to wake up tomorrow morning.

But He Tiantian appeared so worried about her son that, since she was a dying woman, any request she made, as long as it was not impossible, neither Grand Madam nor Kang Mo would refuse.

Thus, when the weakened He Tiantian expressed her wish from her bed that her son should have a Martial Arts Master to train him well, Grand Madam and her son immediately agreed.

Grand Madam even repeatedly urged Kang Mo to find a master with excellent skills, a good character, and reliability.

Whether Kang Mo did it to fulfill his wife’s ”last wishes,” out of filial piety for Grand Madam, or simply from a devoted father’s love, he dared not slacken in the least.

In less than a day, he had found a Martial Arts Master who met the requirements of both mother and wife perfectly.

Once the master was found, Kang Mo also ordered that a training ground be cleared in the backyard.

Brother Yuan was naturally sensible and obedient, and when he heard that his mother wanted him to learn Martial Arts diligently, he became even more focused and determined.

But then He Tiantian made another request: ”I want to personally watch Brother Yuan—” Not watching more now would mean not being able to see him later!

She only said half of it, but the rest was clear to both Grand Madam and Kang Mo.

Alas, the universal concern of all parents, Lady He was likely worried that once she was gone, she would no longer see Brother Yuan working hard and improving.

Although it wasn’t quite appropriate and might lead to misunderstandings or gossip,

Grand Madam and Kang Mo discussed it and still agreed to He Tiantian’s request.

Having laid in bed for several days, He Tiantian finally had the chance to be outdoors.

He Tiantian lay on a comfortable leisure chair, which was cushioned with thick mattresses and pillows, making it very cozy.

Around her were several serving girls, where without a word from her, a simple glance would be enough to have warm tea and sweet cakes brought to her lips.

He Tiantian had been in this novel world for a while now and was finally experiencing the lavish lifestyle of ancient wealthy individuals.

Of course, none of this was important as He Tiantian’s eyes were fixed intently on the nearby training ground.

The Master was drilling Brother Yuan in the basics, starting with horse stance.

Later, there would probably be exercises like the Winnowing Stilts and other traditional basics.

Additionally, the Master had also taught Brother Yuan a set of basic boxing.

He Tiantian watched carefully and felt that the boxing taught by the Master somewhat resembled the long-range boxing known in later times.

”Madam, it has been over two shichen, are you tired?”

Nanny Seo, seeing He Tiantian focusing unwaveringly on the training ground, felt a mix of heartache and sorrow.

Madam must be so reluctant to part with the Young Master Heir, looking at her like that, her gaze unblinking, truly as if she wished to hold the Young Master Heir close to her heart.

Sadly—

Thinking about the Madam’s frail body, Nanny Seo’s eyes began to well with tears.

She quickly blinked hard, pushing back the surge of tears—no, she must not cry, it’s too inauspicious!

He Tiantian was desperately trying to memorize the boxing techniques taught by the Martial Arts Master when she heard Nanny Seo’s words. She quickly composed herself and feigned a sorrowful tone, ”Not tired at all! Watching Brother Yuan like this, I’ll never feel tired in my life!”

Nanny Seo: ...I can’t take it, really can’t take it.

Why is God so unfair to our lady? Lady He is so reluctant to part with the Young Master Heir, yet, she can’t—

Turning her head away, Nanny Seo quickly wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief.

She didn’t have the heart to persuade any further. If the lady were to pass away tonight, leaving behind regrets due to her own persuasion, she would be the sinner!

Nanny Seo silently stayed by her side, allowing He Tiantian to once again focus her full attention on the Martial Arts Master’s lesson.

That very evening, He Tiantian ordered the mosquito nets to be let down and sent Nanny Seo and all her other trusted servants to the outer room.

Alone behind the nets, she struggled to stand up and, following the Mnemonics taught by the Martial Arts Master, began to practice the boxing step by step.

He Tiantian had to be thankful that the Martial Arts Master Kang Mo had found this time was truly skilled.

Not only did he teach boxing techniques, but he also taught Brother Yuan a set of mnemonics for Inner Strength.

Of course, it was not something like the Nine Yin Scripture or Yijinjing, no Divine-level Technique, just a more basic Inner Strength.

But for a Martial Arts novice like Tiantian, it was already quite a decent Technique.

Moreover, He Tiantian was amazed to discover that after several days of earnest Cultivation, her current frail body actually showed signs of improvement!

Not yet to the miraculous point of a complete recovery, but she was already able to get up by herself and complete a whole set of boxing from start to finish.

This had filled He Tiantian with an indescribable pleasant surprise.

Grand Madam and Nanny Seo, as well as others, were even more moved, ”Alas, it’s said that ’women are naturally weak, but mothers are strong.’ Lady He is really putting her all into it for Brother Yuan!”

The young Brother Yuan might not understand all this, but he could already comprehend: his mother was desperately clinging on to life for him, struggling through her illness.

Brother Yuan redoubled his efforts.

At such a young age, he was not only studying diligently but also keenly practicing Martial Arts—his mother loved to sit in the corridor and watch him train, and he must learn well!

With ample motivation, Brother Yuan’s progress was visibly remarkable.

Seeing this, the Martial Arts Master sighed that Brother Yuan was truly ’a chip off the old block’ and taught with even greater dedication.

On He Tiantian’s side, she spared no effort in showing her gratitude; in addition to the tuition fee they’d agreed on, she instructed someone to give the Martial Arts Master a substantial red envelope.

Martial Arts Master: ...With both an excellent student and a supportive parent, there’s only one result—that the teacher gives it his all.

The Martial Arts Master even brought out a set of his own secret skills—the Hundred-step Piercing technique.

He Tiantian: ...sob, I can only look, not practice!

My hands are so itchy, and my heart even more so.

However, He Tiantian was not greedy. Being able to master that set of Inner Strength and long-range boxing was already a tremendous gain for her.

Not to mention the positive impact on He Tiantian herself, just in this novel world, He Tiantian’s body seemed to be showing signs of improvement.

At the very least, the Imperial Physician who came to examine He Tiantian no longer shook his head with a face full of regret when facing the Grand Madam and Kang Mo.

”Although the lady’s body is still weak, she seems to have escaped danger—” the Imperial Physician said reflectively.

Apart from Kang Mo, the entire Duke Mansion was overjoyed.

Kang Mo, looking at his frail yet still beautiful wife, had a sharp glint flash in his eyes.

Why isn’t Lady He dead yet?

Yiyi can’t wait any longer, she, she’s already—!
