The Golem Mage

”Where is our master?, Even Orion’s master is here, if things were to go awry, I fear there would be no one to aid Alec,” Brandon expressed his worry.

”It appears they are evenly matched,” Agnes remarked, attempting to make sense of the battle amidst the bursts of elemental light, however, Beatrice shook her head as Agnes finished her sentence.

”Alec is undoubtedly going to emerge victorious!” Beatrice confidently declared, folding her hands, this statement piqued Endrick’s curiosity.

”How can you be so certain?” he questioned.

”Well, for one, Orion is on the verge of depleting his mana reserves, and once he runs out, he will be defenceless against Alec’s relentless onslaught, in fact, I predict that within the next five minutes, Orion will succumb to defeat,” Beatrice stated, shocking most of the team members.

They were puzzled as to why a Tier 5 Mage like Orion would run out of mana before Alec, who was only a Tier 4 Mage.

However, even the instructors observing from the side-lines had already anticipated this outcome.

Their experience allowed them to read the battle at a higher level, leading them to conclude that unless Orion executed a miraculous move to impale Alec soon, it would be him lying motionless on the arena ground, on the brink of defeat instead of Alec.

”Allow me to explain in simpler terms, at the beginning of the fight, both Alec and Orion were testing their abilities, however, Orion quickly realized that all his gravity-based spells would be ineffective against Alec, who could effortlessly nullify them,” Beatrice explained.

”As the battle progressed, things started to look dire for Orion, as no matter what he attempted, he couldn’t seem to inflict any damage on Alec, Alec’s endurance and physical prowess were astonishing, surpassing anything Orion could have foreseen. Orion understood that if he continued with his current strategy, regardless of his element flawless execution, defeat would come swiftly.”

” So to counter this disadvantage, he compressed his water element to an extraordinary level, transforming it into solid form to launch ice-based attacks, however, since he lacked an affinity for ice magic, this technique demanded a significant increase in mana consumption. Fortunately, his affinity for the water element allowed him to mitigate some of the mana drain.”

”And for the first time, he was able to push Alec to exert himself more, Alec even evaded a few attacks, demonstrating the potential for critical damage from the ice, so, despite Orion’s arrogant facade, he was actually rushing to conclude the battle swiftly before depleting his mana,” Lucas continued from where Beatrice had left off.

”But as usual, he underestimated Alec once again. Despite landing a few blows, Alec managed to survive, I have witnessed Alec’s strength during his battle with the Chronomancer, At that moment, even I felt if Alec allowed a Tier 3 Mage landed a hit on him, I believe he wouldn’t have been injured, that’s just how formidable Alec’s physical abilities are,” Lucas explained.

”While Alec has exceptional skill in executing elemental attacks, but it is his explosive physical strength, surpassing the limitations of his realm, that truly makes him extraordinary.

He can withstand attacks with his bare body, even without relying on armor, It’s unbelievable, unfortunately, we haven’t had the chance to see Alec in prolonged combat since then, so I don’t know the extent of his growth,” Lucas confessed.

”But one thing I do know is that Alec has improved greatly, as I wasn’t the only one who sensed that primal aura emanating from him, which he unintentionally released this morning, Orion never stood a chance,” Beatrice concluded as the team remembered the aura they had felt while at the inn.

”Yeah! He could have summoned his golems and swiftly ended this battle, but it seems like he’s savouring the moment, it’s quite thrilling,” Lucas remarked as they turned their attention back to the ongoing fight.

”How...how are you still able to continue? Why do you have more mana than I do?” Orion gasped between breaths, using an ice sword to support himself.

”Well, unlike you, I haven’t been flaunting excess mana. And I didn’t tell you to waste your time refining your water mana solely for ice attacks, and besides, you never really stood a chance,” Alec responded, attempting to divert the attention away from his abnormal mana pool.

”Well, you pushed me this far!” Orion exclaimed, summoning a wand from his space ring and piercing it into his left hand, as the wand absorbed his blood, it began to emit an icy blue glow.

Alec watched with confusion, uncertain of what the wand would do.
