The Golem Mage

Alec now had four branches on the Primordial Tree, and together they could devour up to a total of forty lifeforms at once, however, Alec still felt the process was a bit slow given the number of corpses they had lying around, he wished there was a way to upgrade the tree’s branches.

Alec quickly checked his balance to ensure he had enough to spend, that’s when he realized just how much he had already spent.

He couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret; he had been using the system points without much thought, having accumulated a large amount during his time in the Beast Forest.

The idea of spending more than half of his points in an instant made him want to shed pity tears.

Nevertheless, he selected the ’yes’ option, driven by his eagerness to discover what would happen to the branches once they reached Level 2.

Indicators appeared, prompting Alec to choose which branch he wanted to upgrade.

Though he already had one in mind so he felt the selection process was necessary, and he appreciated that the system hadn’t made the choice randomly by itself cause in such case, that would mean he’d have no control over which branch was chosen.

With the setup allowing him to pick the branch he wanted, Alec chose the first branch, and as soon as he made his selection, his system points were deducted instantly.

A radiant shimmer of light glided through the air, merging with the branch and causing it to grow longer than the other three branches.

However, it wasn’t just a physical change—this branch now exhibited newfound freedom of movement, no longer constrained by rigidity.

This provided Alec with the impression that he could engage in conversation with it.

”Eat!” Alec commanded, and the branch responded by opening its elongated body, revealing sharp and imposing teeth at the end. Observing this transformation, Alec realized that the branch not only grew in size, but it also gained the ability to understand and communicate with him.

The branch swiftly burrowed itself into the group of demonic beasts, devouring yet another set of ten creatures.

Witnessing this, Alec grew increasingly certain that the level-up had more significant implications than mere increases in devouring space and flexibility.

While he eagerly awaited further changes to unfold, the tip of the branch gently curled up, reaching toward Alec’s face and brushing against his stunned expression after it had finished swallowing the extra ten demonic beast corpse.

To Alec’s surprise, the body of the Primordial Tree branch was anything but rigid, as the surface was astonishingly soft, dispelling Alec’s expectation of hardness.

After standing rooted in astonishment for about fifteen seconds, Alec mustered the courage to caress the first branch, which displayed an apparent need for his affection.

Alec smiled and commanded the tree branch to retract as he prepared to delve once more into the second level of the Beast Forest.

The first branch emitted small noises, amusingly enough, Alec found himself able to discern their meaning.

”Do you mean I can exchange these beasts for system points and use them to acquire items for this space?” Alec questioned, having understood the message conveyed by the branch.

Inspired, he envisioned transforming fifty percent of the demonic beasts surrounding the trunk of the Primordial Tree into particles of light.

With a focused thought, the transformation began to take place, and part of the demonic beasts dissolved into shimmering particles of light, disappearing from existence.

Alec deliberately chose only fifty percent, ensuring that the tree branches would not starve once they completed the digestion of their consumed prey.

With the option to increase his system points, a small smile crept across Alec’s face, However, he realized that he still couldn’t access the store function in the Amulet space.

It had remained locked for as long as he could remember, Alec tucked this thought away for now, knowing he could explore it later when he exited the Amulet space.

At the moment, he was fully prepared to face the challenges of the second level of the Beast Forest after thanking the first branch.

Without hesitation, he soared forward and disappeared as his body passed through the door of the second level.

Suddenly, Alec’s face collided with the ground as he landed from a low altitude, Despite his attempts to manipulate gravity to cushion his fall, something had interfered, rendering his spell ineffective.

He could sense eyes fixed upon him from behind, but he refrained from acting rashly, slowly, he rose to his feet, attentively surveying the area with a serious expression.

Unlike the first level, where he could act like a god unrestrained as no beast could defeat him there, the second level presented a different challenge. Every beast within had the potential to pose a formidable threat.

The Tier 4 beasts in this level could hold their own against Tier 5 mages outside the real world, this was a testament to their exceptional talent.

Alec remembered his previous encounter with the Sparrowkeet, a Tier 5 beast with the battle power of a Tier 6 Mage.

No matter how he had attempted to fight it off, defeat had been inevitable at his prior level of strength.

He had made two unsuccessful attempts to enter the second level of the Beast Forest after that encounter, his low level and Tier 3 golems had proved insufficient to face even the Tier 4 beast then, As a result, Alec had remained grinding in the first level until he reached this point.

Now, Alec felt a newfound fearlessness within him, as he felt if he were to encounter a Tier 5 demonic beast in the Beast Forest this time, he believed he could at least escape with his life intact, even if victory eluded him, the upgrade of his weapon skills to intermediate is what made him so confident.

However, his fervent prayer was to avoid crossing paths with any of the Tier 6 Overlord beasts in the second level, his goal now was to hunt down a group of Tier 4 demonic beasts, as they held greater benefits than the Tier 3 creatures he had encountered in the level 1 of the Beast forest .

A low growl suddenly resonated through the air, Alec’s senses sharpened as he realized it wasn’t just one demonic beast that threatened him – there were about fifteen of them.

Their red eyes gleamed from the surrounding bushes, intensifying Alec’s seriousness.

Yet, a smirk formed on Alec’s face when he sensed their auras and discovered that they were all Tier 4 demonic beasts.

With confidence brimming, he summoned his team of golems, each one distinct and formidable.

Titan, Legion, Oni, Tempest Butcher, Hive Queen, Sword Saint, and Magnito appeared, assembling around Alec and they were merging their auras to reinforced Alec’s own aura pressure, demonstrating the immense synergy they possessed together.

”Boys, come help me seek revenge for my past pathetic deaths!” Alec declared with determination, urging his golems to dash into action.

But The wolf pack, hiding also emerged from the shadows, eager to hunt and take down the ones they classify as prey before them.
