The Golem Mage

The Tree’s ability to refine ten perfect pills of excellent rank quality from a single corpse left Alec deep in thought.

He wondered if this was merely a one-time occurrence, attributed to the fact that the Chronomancer had exceptional talent and supreme element affinity, or if the Tree just possessed the inherent capacity to refine such high-grade pills from the lifeform it consumed.

The intensity of curiosity gnawed at Alec’s insides, prompting him to test his theories later on, he yearned to uncover the truth, to determine whether his speculations were accurate or entirely unfounded.

Furthermore, Alec was still thinking if the drops from the Tree were different every time, like if it was varying with each individual or race that was consumed, he even considered the possibility that even demonic beasts, lacking power stones but possessing power crystals, would have unique outcomes when they drop their loot.

A stray thought crossed his mind for a second, leading him to briefly contemplate the notion of obtaining weapons from the power crystals.

Despite entertaining various wild thoughts, Alec held onto one solid certainty: the pills he had acquired could also be utilized by his teammates who are participating in the inter-academy competition.

As he believed that providing them with these pills might aid those on the brink of a breakthrough, potentially elevating their realms.

Though tempted to consume the pills himself and reach the peak of Tier 4, thereby inching closer to the Tier 5 Mage Realm, Alec acknowledged that even with all ten pills, the difference would not be significant, he still had a long way to go on his cultivation journey.

And with the system’s requirement of 5.5 million points to progress to the next level, Alec knew he would remain in the Tier 4 realm for a considerable duration.

However, there was a silver lining to this predicament, he could compensate for his lack of cultivation speed by engaging in numerous battles to amass experience points, and now the acquisition of these new pills provided him with another opportunity to earn valuable experience point from another source.

”Taking all ten pills would only grant me a hundred thousand experience points, which isn’t much help for myself, however, I think I know who would greatly benefit from them,” Alec stated, already having a recipient in mind to whom he could offer the pills.

Alec contemplated why the Amulet hadn’t devoured the Tier 5 leader of the sea demon horde he had slain, then he suddenly recalled that the Amulet had been in a dormant state at the time.

And he had hurriedly made his escape before the Amulet could detect the scent of food and begin devouring, avoiding any unnecessary delays and ensuring he didn’t cross paths with the city lords who were conducting reconnaissance in the area – individuals he was clearly trying to avoid.

Taking a deep breath, Alec prepared to employ his analysis skills on the acquired loot, saying to himself,

”Okay, here goes nothing.”

[> Memory Orb: Able to implant a certain memory of a spell or skill used by the lifeform from which it was refined, upon a closer inspection, an image of the lifeform will become apparent. After watching the spell or skill, one must practice and execute it several times to reach a similar mastery as the previous owner. Progress thereafter depends on personal talent, dedication, and hard work.]

Alec found himself gaping in astonishment at the revelation before him, the memory orb was an incredible find, providing the opportunity to learn a skill or spell from the original owner that was refined.

His eyes wandered to the flame-attribute demonic beast plants blooming on the first branch of the tree , and a smile crept across his face as he imagined the wide array of indirect flame spells he could learn.

This was particularly enticing since acquiring mid-ranked spells without spending a fortune proved to be quite challenging.

Reflecting on his knowledge, Alec realized the only mid-term spells he had familiarity with were the gravity ones that evolved from low-tier spells, thanks to the skill tome he had studied from the Dean’s old collection.

”Moving on to the next item,” Alec declared confidently, employing his analysis skills on the cultivation pills, despite already knowing what they were, he wanted to confirm their effects.

[> Tier 5 Cultivation Pills: Help elevate the cultivation level of individuals in the Tier 5 realm and below, their effects are diminished on Tier 6 and above Mages, when consumed by you, they can be converted into 10,000 Experience points.]

Even though Alec had just used his analysis skill on the cultivation pills he felt he knew a lot about he still obtained a detailed description, he was surprised to find that the information was even more comprehensive than he had expected.

Now, he turned his attention to the three floating cards, unsure of their purpose, and utilized his skill once again.

[> Random Spell card (Chronomancer): Has the appearance of a talisman to anyone other than you, it can be activated by infusing mana into the card, triggering a random spell from the Chronomancer, since it was refined from the Chronomancer Mana essence.]

Alec sucked in a breath of cold air as he read the description of the Random Spell card.

Initially, he had believed that obtaining the memory orb was the best outcome of the three, only to reconsider when he discovered the cultivation pills, however, now, the Random Spell Card seemed to hold the most unpredictable potential.

He gazed at the card with its golden-trimmed edge, adorned with a cartoon representation of the Chronomancer.

None of the three loot items turned out to be less valuable than the previous ones, they were all resources that could greatly benefit him.

Without hesitation, Alec proceeded to harvest the remaining nine germinated leaf plants.

[> Pay 9,000 System Points to harvest these plants (Y/N)]

Realizing that the cost of all nine plants combined did not equal the value of the plant that originated from the Chronomancer, Alec swiftly understood that there was a fluctuation in price based on the realm of the lifeform.

As the remaining nine plants had been derived from Tier 3 Flarefang Saber tiger demonic beasts, they were clearly inferior to the Chronomancer.

”Now let’s see what I obtain after patiently waiting for all this,” Alec murmured to himself.

[> Ding! Acquired Loots —]

[> 9x Flarefang Tier 3 spirit equipment set fragment]

[> 90x Tier 3 Cultivation Pills (+90,000 exp)]

[> 9x Random Spell Card]

Upon witnessing this drop, Alec finally became certain that he had the potential to obtain cultivation pills whenever he harvested a new leaf.

As for the spell cards, it appeared that they were also an option, although for the lower-ranked random spell card, it seemed that the demonic beasts only dropped one.

So Alec found it challenging to comprehend if this was due to the nature of the demonic beasts or if higher realm beings had better drop rates for the Random Spell Card.

To clarify his doubts, he decided to analyze the description of the spell cards using his analysis skill, especially since the first loot he obtained this time seemed to differ from the memory orb he had previously received.
