The Golem Mage

”So, hey, what about you?, what’s your own story?, there’s no way someone who keeps himself busy with discussions like this won’t have a history, i won’t believe you just developed an innate fondness for such conversations,” Alec said to Pale after breaking the hug with Endrick.

”Oh, forget about me, I’m not one of those Rejects, I’m actually one of the few who was accepted, and don’t even think about brainwashing me into joining your clan, I’m okay the way I am, I’ll be the first to keep watch for the night,” Pale replied, his words filled with determination.

Alec acknowledged his words and walked back to his spot.

With him impulsively adding two people to his clan a mere moment ago, it was clear he would have to write to his grandfather soon, if not, he was going to get an earful when he just showed up at the clan house with two new members the were unaware off.

[> x : You might not know this now, but when the time comes, you might not regret adding them to your clan, they have unique abilities, and with the power of the system, there’s no limit to what they can achieve,]

The booming voice of the system spirit echoed in Alec’s mind as he lay down to rest.

”Are you saying there’s a way for the system to strengthen those close to me apart from the party function?” Alec asked, perplexed.

[> x : With time, such knowledge will be revealed to you, but for now, focus on becoming stronger. I believe fate has led you to those two for a reason,]

The system spirit replied, and no matter how hard Alec tried to elicit more information from him, it seemed the system spirit was not ready to give definitive answers, and just like that, Alec had to give up questioning the enigmatic system spirit golem.

Due to Alec’s resistance to summon his golems, the system spirit golem shell remained trapped inside the space pouch. Irritated by its confinement, the system spirit had retreated back into the system.

Alec continued to ponder the nature of the relationship between the system and the system spirit, intrigued by its seemingly autonomous will.

Nevertheless, he held a deep respect for the system spirit, appreciating its ability to offer advice and guidance in various situations, as it almost made Alec feel as though he had an elder watching over him.

Frustrated by the system spirit’s reluctance to provide information, despite Alec’s attempts to coax it with a bribe, he decided to lay down and rest. After all, Pale was the one assigned to keep watch over the group first.

Closing his eyes, Alec once again experienced the sensation of floating, just as he had the previous night.

When he opened his eyes, he confirmed that he had indeed been drawn into the space within the Amulet Artifact again, however, he found himself still lacking in possessions, with only a loincloth covering his private parts.

He first observed the three doors, representing the three levels of the Beast Forest first , before turning his attention to the black tree.

Upon closer inspection, Alec noticed visible differences in the black leaf from the previous day.

As not only had the Chronomancer seemingly been fully consumed, with no trace of its head visible again, but parts of the black leaf now emitted a yellow glow, while others emitted a mix of black and white.

Alec couldn’t even identify the leaf as a black leaf anymore, as it now displayed three different colours.

He took a few moments to observe the tree, realizing that there weren’t many changes aside from the leaf, with thoughts of what he could gain from the tree occupying his mind, Alec’s curiosity refused to let him rest.

As he pondered what would happen once the leaf finished consuming the Chronomancer and eventually sprouted open.

This time, when Alec arrived at the three doors, he decided not to choose the second level again, instead, he opted for the first level of the Beast Forest, and as soon as his hand touched the door, he found himself instantly transported into the Beast Forest once more.

However, unlike his previous arrival where he stood firmly on his feet, Alec now found himself free falling from the air, screaming at the top of his lungs, he cursed his luck, realizing that this environment lacked trees he could use to slow his descent.

He had been transported to a volcanic island within the vast Beast Forest, and at that moment, he couldn’t help but envy those from the Lanzt clan who possessed the wind element, which might have helped him survive this situation.

In this desperate moment, Alec realized that he did have two or three golems that could be useful, but he hadn’t attempted summoning them yesterday due to not having his space pouch with him.

Determined, he made a strong connection with his space pouch, feeling the familiar resonance with it, Alec’s face lit up with a bright smile as he quickly summoned Magnito, his metal lifeform golem.

As soon as the golem appeared, it swiftly transformed into a human-like figure and summoned its overboard, allowing Alec to safely landed on the hover board as they descended at a much-reduced pace.

Alec let out a sigh of relief, knowing he wouldn’t meet a foolish end due to the free fall situation, now that he no longer worried about falling, he took his time to observe the new environment before him.

The volcanic island was teeming with a multitude of demonic beasts, which Alec initially believed to be saber-tooth tigers, however, as he used his analysis ability on them, he discovered they had a different name.

[Status]

Name: Flarefang Saber Tiger

Realm: Tier 1

Affinity: Flame

Countless Flarefang Saber Tigers of various realms surrounded the island, their fiery gazes fixed on Magnito as it descended onto them, in fact, the Tier 1 Flarefang Saber Tigers appeared to be the younger and smaller versions of the adult ones present.

Alec disregarded these new demonic beasts as they acted as if they had already found their prey, since they were only Tier 1 and Tier 2, he considered them to be no threat.

As Alec continued to marvel at the breath-taking and treacherous landscape, he found himself more interested in observing the island itself, geographically, the island was a result of volcanic activity, characterized by towering peaks and rugged cliffs that dramatically emerged from the surrounding azure waters.

Lush vegetation clung to any available surface, displaying vibrant shades of green against the backdrop of dark, volcanic rock.

The air carried a faint scent of sulfur, a reminder of the island’s fiery origins.

Throughout the island, several active volcanoes dotted the landscape, constantly releasing plumes of smoke and occasionally spewing molten lava.

These volcanoes served as the island’s lifeblood, continuously shaping its terrain and creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The ground crackled with residual heat, emitting a warmth that could be felt even from a distance.

Scattered across the island, hot springs and geothermal pools offered soothing pockets of heated water that provided solace and respite for the Flarefang Saber tigers that made this island their home. These natural oases were like paradises, surrounded by lush vegetation that created a stark contrast to the harsh and challenging environment.

Above the volcanic island, the sky displayed breath-taking exhibitions of light and colour. As the sun began to set, its vibrant rays cast an ethereal glow upon the jagged peaks, while pockets of volcanic gases created surreal atmospheric phenomena, turning the sky into a canvas of captivating beauty.

”Master, watch out!” The urgent words of Magnito shattered Alec’s curiosity as he jolted back to reality.

As he suddenly found himself face to face with a significantly larger Flarefang Saber tiger, which was lunging towards him, astonishingly, he hadn’t even realized they were already close to ground level.

This immense Flarefang Saber tiger exuded an undeniable aura of pride, adorned in a magnificent coat of shimmering red-orange fur that emitted a mesmerizing glow.

The flames emanating from its two long canine fangs burned fiercely and emitted an intense heat even before reaching Alec, as Its muscular physique showed a testament to its strength.

Adorning its forehead were glowing runes, representing the intricate fire laws and patterns that signified its mastery over the fire element, these radiant markings added to the creature’s aura of mystique, further captivating Alec’s attention as the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Flarefang Saber tiger didn’t have that.
