The Golem Mage

And just like last time, Alec was sent flying again by a roundhouse kick.

As he looked up, he realized that the time reversal spell had been casted again, bringing him back to the scene where the low kick was just about to be executed.

Arthur gritted his teeth and clenched his fist, torn between wanting to intervene in the fight and knowing that Alec would have relied on his golems now if he was truly in seemingly hopeless situation.

The belief among the team was that Alec’s golems, particularly Titan and Legion, were stronger than him.

And since Alec had not summoned them, they assumed he still had control over the situation.

Little did they know that at this very moment, Alec was at his strongest, surpassing the power of any of his golems, even Titan, yet, all he could do was continue to endure the repeated onslaught from the Chronomancer.

It wasn’t until the fifth round that something changed.

The Chronomancer didn’t failed to notice the missing hurried or angry look in Alec’s eyes, but he did see a wide smile spread across Alec’s face, but he choose to Ignore the eerie smile, the Chronomancer remained confident in his ability to handle Alec alone.

However, as the Chronomancer closed in for another attack, Alec raised his head and exclaimed, ”Got you!”

Instantly, a massive rune array materialized beneath them, and colossal hands of earth emerged, engulfing the Chronomancer from various directions in an attempt to restrain him.

Finally, Alec was able to destroy the Time reversal.

He flexed his muscles, his gaze fixed on the Chronomancer.

”I know that won’t hold you for long , so let’s not waste any more time, come at me now, as i won’t fall for this feeble trap, after all, I summoned the earth hands trapping array myself ,” Alec declared, raising his hands in a boxing stance.

”How did you manage to break free from my time reversal spell?” the Chronomancer asked, his curiosity piqued and anger evident.

As with a slight twitch and pull from his body, he freed himself from the earth hands trapping array.

Alec’s had indeed being right, and the array couldn’t hold the Chronomancer but he had been patiently waiting for Alec to draw near so he could launch a counterattack, but Alec refused to be ensnared by the Chronomancer’s tricks.

”Now, tell me exactly how you were able to escape my time reversal spell.”

”Oh, that? It was quite simple, really, after the second time, I realized that although your time element is difficult to defend against, mastering spells involving rare elements takes time, it became clear that your understanding of time element spells is at a lower level,” Alec explained.

”If not, you wouldn’t have solely focused on reversing only me, you could have reversed time itself, but since you could only reverse my actions, I retained my memories and started plotting, each time I was sent back in time, I casted an array.”

” At first, I doubted its effectiveness, but when you cast the spell again and I saw those array lines still present, I figured out it was only you and me being drawn into the reversed events, so, with every reversal, I added to the array until I finally broke free from the events happening , and if my guess is correct, you won’t be able to use that spell for a while once it has been broken, this is the drawback of having a limited understanding of your time element spells.”

Alec shrugged his shoulders, undeterred.

”Who cares about that?, I’ll just cast another time spell!” The Chronomancer declared, extending his hand.

However, Alec quickly countered by pushing his hands forward, summoning five earth spears that intercepted the Chronomancer’s attempt to cast the spell.

Closing in on his opponent, Alec threw a right-handed jab enhanced by the fiery fist spell.

The straight punch stunned the Chronomancer momentarily, but before Alec could follow up with a combination, he found himself on the receiving end of the Chronomancer’s relentless onslaught.

Elbow strikes, knee strikes, and low kicks came at Alec with increasing speed and power as the Chronomancer harnessed the time element to accelerate his attacks.

While Alec’s enhanced agility allowed him to track the movements with his eyes, his body couldn’t keep up with the accelerated strikes of the Muay Thai Karate, Nonetheless, Alec managed to land a few earth or fiery fists on the Chronomancer, surprising his opponent with his resilience.

The Chronomancer stared at Alec, taken aback by his ability to withstand the onslaught.

Normally, a Tier 3 mage would be defeated with just one attack, but Alec had proven himself capable of matching up, despite being on the losing side.

”Why won’t you just die?” exclaimed the Chronomancer in frustration, delivering a forceful push kick to Alec’s midsection, sending him staggering backward.

However, Alec quickly got back on his feet, though he had taken numerous blows, his high endurance not only allowed him to endure in fights but also granted him a resilient body, capable of resisting most attacks.

One of Alec’s main concerns was his weak internal organs; he knew he had to end the fight with the Chronomancer quickly.

Drawing out his Blood Changdao, he proclaimed,

”Come, let me show you true power.” Finally, he tapped into his fire element, causing flames to engulf his body and a red cloak to materialize behind him.

Despite his efforts to suppress his bloodthirsty killing intent, Alec realized that he wouldn’t be able to harm, let alone kill the Chronomancer without unleashing it.

The Changdao blade glowed with fiery intensity, creating a domain of flames around him, Additionally, rocks levitated in the air, manipulated by Alec’s gravity control.

”You amuse me!” the Chronomancer taunted, charging toward Alec as the area surrounding him seems to be under a time pause, In response, Alec unleashed a torrent of stones, each one levitating toward the Chronomancer.

The Chronomancer retaliated by shooting Chrono blasts at the oncoming stones, causing them to enter a time-slowing effect as he dashed effortlessly through them, with a forceful motion, he thrust his hands toward Alec and unleashed another attack—Nova Distortion.

A deafening bang reverberated through the area as dust and debris engulfed Alec, obscuring the view.

The team watched attentively, their eyes fixed on the smoke-screen, until Alec emerged from the chaos, his movements now stealthy as he circled around the Chronomancer.

However, the Chronomancer quickly caught on and continued casting Nova Distortion, obliterating the surroundings.

The destructive power of a Tier 5 mage became evident to all present, prompting the team to take additional steps back to avoid being caught in the devastating shockwaves.

The sheer magnitude of destruction made them contemplate how Alec, against all odds, could still engage in battle with the formidable Chronomancer, when they felt death call just by getting too close .

Peering through space distorted by their vantage point, they observed Alec relentlessly wielding his Changdao against the Chronomancer, who skillfully employed Muay Thai martial arts.

The fact that Alec was only a Tier 3 Mage seemed almost unbelievable to them.

Alec adeptly defended against a knee strike by positioning his Changdao defensively, but his blade failed to breach the Chronomancer’s skin, protected by a shimmering veil of time mana.

Lost in his thoughts, Alec momentarily became vulnerable, allowing the Chronomancer to unleash a new attack pattern.

With a swift teep, a front push kick aimed at Alec’s abdomen, the Chronomancer aimed to create distance between them.

As his foot returned to the ground, he executed a powerful roundhouse kick with his rear leg, targeting Alec’s head and sending him hurtling once more towards the spot where the sword saint stood ready.

”Just give up,” taunted the Chronomancer, his arrogance evident.

”You cannot defeat me, I am far superior in realm to you, while you possess great endurance and strength, without the ability to bypass my time shield, you cannot harm me, And if you cannot harm me, your ultimate fate will be death.”

As the Chronomancer launched a Chrono blast towards Alec, the scorching attack was intercepted by the swift slash of the sword saint, who had been standing protectively before Alec’s exhausted body.

Witnessing this timely intervention, Alec’s weariness transformed into a smile as he gathered his resolve once more.

”Please, apply the anti-magic aura to my blade,” Alec requested after a thought crossed is mind, extending his Changdao towards the sword saint.

With a gentle touch, the saint infused the fiery blade with an arcane grey hue, Alec, his face beaming with determination, deftly swung the altered blade that now burned with grey flames through the air a few times, as a smile adorned his face.

”Let’s put everything on the line for the next round,” Alec declared, his voice laced with determination.

”It’s a matter of life or death for me, hmm?”

The Chronomancer didn’t say anything but his actions did as he assumed a formidable stance, his limbs radiating a vibrant yellow glow infused with the essence of time, evident in the mana that enshrouded his fists, knees, and elbows.
