Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 1443: Chapter 65: Be Serious, This Is a Funeral

Lubei City, 50 kilometers to the south.

The trees were lush, and the roaring sound of the waterfall could be heard clearly from afar. It was a waterfall about a hundred meters high.

The mist rose from the pool below the waterfall. Su Xiao lay on a round stone, its smooth surface resembling a giant pebble.

Bubu Wang was perched on a distant hill, its sharp eyes scanning the surroundings, while A Mu sat in front of the round stone.

Su Xiao’s eyes opened, and as he attempted to get up, he realized it was no longer as difficult as before.

Killing 97 enemy Contractors in two hours sounded fierce, but in reality, Su Xiao and Solomon paid a significant price. The Apocalypse Paradise contractors were not all pushovers; when forced, they would fight desperately.

Su Xiao pressed one hand against his chest. He had already used several recovery potions, and his injuries were seventy percent healed. As long as no battles erupted within a dozen hours, his injuries would fully recover.

Su Xiao had left Lubei City over four hours ago. Through the war channel, he learned about the battle situation within the city.

Only 195 of the Reincarnation Paradise faction remained alive, fewer than two hundred people. As for Apocalypse Paradise, they were worse off. 728 participated, and after being besieged by Su Xiao’s team and Gulu’s squad, the terrified Apocalypse Paradise contractors faced off against the main force of Reincarnation Paradise.

Leaving aside the comparison of hard power, just the belief itself placed Apocalypse Paradise at a natural disadvantage. The Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise all knew that if they didn’t make Apocalypse Paradise unable to fend for themselves, in the final grand battle of contractors, Apocalypse Paradise and Holy Sanctuary would jointly besiege Reincarnation Paradise.

With the belief of ’deep-seated enmity’ and the naturally fearless nature of the people from Reincarnation Paradise, Apocalypse Paradise was utterly bewildered.

They had no belief, or rather, their goal was only to escape Lubei City and then find a way to join forces with the Holy Sanctuary faction to besiege Reincarnation Paradise.

With this in mind, fighting against a group of lunatics ready to lie dead on the spot, the outcome was predictable.

This time, they didn’t have Queen Xi; no one could stabilize their morale, nor could anyone stand in front of them to crush the lunatics from Reincarnation Paradise.

Xi was able to lead Apocalypse Paradise to that extent because of her strength and charismatic personality. She had many subordinates willing to risk their lives for her, and during the battle, she almost managed to kill Sister Control·Yanchen among the crowd.

Black Bee didn’t have Xi’s charisma or brains, but he had an unyielding heart. If he were one from Reincarnation Paradise, he would likely have reached the Hot Rainforest Forest under the protection of a group of madmen, instead of being instantly killed by several unbeatable enemies.

Apocalypse Paradise faced 262 Reincarnation Paradise, and after four hours of battle, Apocalypse Paradise broke through the encirclement with a survival count of just over 300, every member hurrying to escape outside the city as if mourning.

The remaining fewer than 200 from Reincarnation Paradise pursued with full force, their eyes red with bloodlust. In the end, even Qing Ye couldn’t control the situation, especially the bloodthirsty Citrus Sister, who was even crazier than Gulu.

Eventually, fewer than 200 from Apocalypse Paradise broke through, divided into four groups to escape. Although the maniacs from Reincarnation Paradise were fearless and unyielding, they were not gods of war. Both sides being Contractors, by the end of the fight, there were only 152 left from Reincarnation Paradise, including Su Xiao and Solomon.

After paying nearly half in casualties, Apocalypse Paradise was utterly terrified, and as for heading to the Hot Rainforest Forest, forget it, they never wanted to see anyone from Reincarnation Paradise again.

They couldn’t understand why these people were so persistent, why they wouldn’t stop chasing them. Surrender was useless, as it only resulted in a headshot.

Why were the people of Reincarnation Paradise so persistent? Because they didn’t want to die, it was just that simple. Fearing death meant certain death, whereas not fearing it perhaps allowed them to become the last survivors.

In the wilderness on the edge of Lubei City, bodies could occasionally be seen on the grass. The ground was cratered and uneven, and various elements floated in the air, with a dense smell of gunpowder pervading.

Qing Ye stood in front of a corpse, it was a female corpse, a cigarette in her mouth, pupils dim and without light.

The deceased was Ghost Lady; she fell under the siege of four Apocalypse Paradise Contractors.

Qing Ye crouched in front of Ghost Lady’s corpse, silently staring for a few minutes.

”Lea... Leader, someone has escaped my perception range.”

Raindrop spoke up behind Qing Ye.

”Shut up.”

Qing Ye was uncharacteristically stern, unlike his usual gentle way of addressing subordinates.

Hearing Qing Ye’s ”shut up,” tears welled in Raindrop’s eyes. She trusted only Qing Ye and the People’s Teacher. Hearing Qing Ye’s rebuke, an overwhelming sense of grievance arose in Raindrop’s heart, and she fell into silence.

”In the end, there’s no escaping death.”

Qing Ye took out some kerosene, pouring it over Ghost Lady’s body, and lighting a rare cigarette, threw the metal lighter onto Ghost Lady.

With a woosh, flames rose, the high temperature burning Ghost Lady’s fair skin, her shapely body gradually reduced to ashes.

Death was very calm, yet terrifying, for once dead, everything was lost, and one might even be gradually forgotten by others.

”I will never become ashes,” Qing Ye spoke. He hesitated for a moment, then added: ”Zong Mu, if I die, bury me. But... why does Ghost Lady have a strange smell when burnt?”

In truth, Qing Ye was not sad; he had long been accustomed to death and now was merely sighing.

”With your constitution, burial has a high chance of being dug up by beasts and eaten, cremation is recommended.”

The People’s Teacher spoke, his real name was Zong Mu, though few called him by that. In his words, he, who killed his own father, didn’t deserve the name his biological father gave him.

”What is that strange smell?”

Citrus Sister, covered in blood, walked from afar. Though she appeared clean and fresh, she always loved to pull out the spines of her enemies alive when killing, fiercely brutal.

”That’s... that’s so rude, Ghost Lady was a very good person in life.”

Raindrop spoke hesitantly.

”Huh?”

Citrus Sister, whose face was spattered with blood, tilted her head.

”I’m sorry!”

Raindrop instantly flinched, hiding behind the People’s Teacher.

”Indeed, there’s a strange smell, Ghost Lady smells bad when burned, but this was her own request, she had told me many times that she must be cremated after death.”

The People’s Teacher offered the most fair remark.

”Enough said, Ghost Lady was our teammate, we should... ugh.”

Qing Ye dry-heaved, quickly stepping back. At this moment, the others also noticed the peculiar smell from Ghost Lady’s burning.

”Why cremation? Can’t you just dig a hole and bury her?”

Citrus Sister also couldn’t help but dry-heave.

”It’s so stinky, hey over there, are you roasting poop?”

Gulu’s shout came, she was roasting meat at a distant fire pit, but once that strange smell wafted over, she lost all appetite.

At that moment, the flaming body of Ghost Lady suddenly sat up with a whoosh, her nearly carbonized corpse rapidly breaking apart, and a marble-sized seed fell to the ground.
