Chapter 1411: Chapter 33: Empty Vault

The mechanism inside the Fang of Ejection was fully activated, and under the startled gaze of that soldier, it exploded with a boom.

Bang!

The concrete stairs were penetrated, and a total of 31 Metal Sharp Teeth splashed upwards. These Metal Sharp Teeth slowly rotated during flight, and after hitting the ceiling, they accelerated for a second time, shooting downward as they scattered.

Puchi, puchi...

The soldier who discovered Apollo was turned into a sieve, and he fell to the ground without even a groan.

The Fang of Ejection stained with fresh blood continued to bounce like elastic balls, differing only in that its three corners were extremely sharp.

After five bounces, the surrounding walls were riddled with holes, and the Fang of Ejection penetrated the walls, bouncing into the surrounding rooms.

The sound of screams and roars was continuous. In an instant, the five dormitories near the stairs were swept as if by a typhoon, with large groups of soldiers lying on the ground wailing, one or more bloody holes in their bodies.

The high temperature of Apollo caused cracks to cover the stairs above. Soon, it fully activated, and at its final moment, a fireball silently expanded.

Dong!

The blast wave spread out, and at that moment, everyone in the St. Limen Fortress heard a buzzing sound in their ears.

Soldiers, walls, bunk beds, bread, all touched by Apollo were instantly vaporized by the high temperature.

Due to the complex structure of the St. Limen Fortress, Apollo stopped being a sphere after expanding to a certain extent and turned into a massive flame, flowing into the surrounding rooms.

A few seconds later, the underground first floor to the above-ground third floor of the St. Limen Fortress disappeared, forming a vast space. This space was all red, with lava flowing down the Patterned Steel Frame.

Large areas of Patterned Steel Frames appeared. The St. Limen Fortress was not constructed with concrete + rebar but replaced rebar with Patterned Steel. Apollo vaporized the concrete but could not completely melt the Patterned Steel.

Click, click...

The Patterned Steel Frame twisted, and the buildings above the fourth floor of the St. Limen Fortress began to slowly sink. Because the outer layer of Patterned Steel was not destroyed by the explosion, it created an empty shell from the underground first floor to the above-ground third floor, with the outer layer being Patterned Steel plates and a dense pattern of steel framework inside.

Although the Patterned Steel Frame was not completely dissolved, under Apollo’s high temperature, about 30% of these frames were melted, like half-melted iron bars supporting the building above.

Boom, boom, boom...

Explosions came from the underground second floor, where stored ammunition was ignited by the high temperature, making it seem like fireworks were being set off on the underground second floor.

Consecutive explosions accelerated the sinking speed of the upper structures of the St. Limen Fortress.

Inside the fourth floor of the St. Limen Fortress.

”So hot!!”

The assistant jumped around, the floor of the fourth floor glowing red like a large piece of branding iron.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The bullets inside the guns on the ground were triggered by the high temperature, a few bullets being deflected by the Counter Shield and embedding into the opposite wall.

The assistant shivered, not daring to jump, but two seconds later, a scorched smell came from under her feet.

”Sir, we’re turning into roasted fish, aren’t we going to retreat?”

The assistant continued to jump as black footprints appeared under her feet, the melting rubber emitting a pungent smell.

Su Xiao’s gaze was directed at the entrance to the fifth floor, from where footsteps could already be heard.

A few officers of unknown rank rushed down the stairs. Before they got far, their steps paused.

Su Xiao removed the Counter Shield, and the assistant, being smart, picked up a heavy machine gun and opened fire on those officers. One could imagine what it felt like to be fired upon by a heavy machine gun in a narrow stairway.

The gunfire had just started when those officers burst forth with an agility not characteristic of humans, simultaneously leaping towards the stairs above.

The assistant bared her sharp teeth; she often dealt with officers from the Sun Kingdom, and she was well aware of their physical capabilities under the Power of God.

Dada, dada, dadadada.

In three bursts, three Sun Kingdom officers were knocked back against the rear wall, their chests and thighs penetrated and blood gushing out.

”Blue-eyed scumbags.”

The assistant tightened the trigger, pressing down the heavy machine gun with her other hand. After sweeping through, those three Sun Kingdom officers were left in tatters.

As the assistant opened fire, Su Xiao was already charging towards the entrance to the fifth floor staircase. His combat boots had heat insulation; after all, the soles contained a titanium variable engine, so of course, they had a cooling device.

When the assistant stopped firing, Su Xiao had just reached the staircase, effortlessly slicing a half-dead Sun Kingdom officer.

A total of two Sun Kingdom officers leaped to the fifth floor. Just as Su Xiao reached the stair’s corner, three soldiers with heavy machine guns crouched outside the staircase. In a stroke of fate, the tables had turned.

Dada-da...

A dense barrage of bullets came at him; Su Xiao grunted, taking cover behind the stairway corner.

The bullets penetrated the thick concrete walls, flying past Su Xiao’s ears. He produced a Shock Bomb, pulled the pin, and hurled it towards the wall beside him,

The Shock Bomb struck the wall, ricocheting towards the top of the staircase,

Bang!

After a flash, the gunfire above the staircase stopped. Su Xiao peeked upwards, seeing the three soldiers crouched at the top of the staircase looking dazed, blinking quickly, some even starting to retch.

The D·Assassin appeared in Su Xiao’s hand, and with three shots, the three soldiers toppled backward.

Su Xiao stepped towards the top of the stairs, with the assistant chasing behind him.

”Sir, I found something good.”

The assistant held up a metal ball shaped like a pineapple, with a giant ring at the top and the lower part glowing red.

The assistant’s courage undoubtedly ranked among the top few dozen in the Geya Alliance Military Area. She held an N-type Anti-tank Mine filled with a considerable amount of White Gunpowder.

In its normal state, any soldier would dare to handle the N-type Anti-tank Mine, but currently, the lower part was red-hot and might explode at any moment.

The assistant moved to pull the ring, but Su Xiao grabbed her hand, his intuition warning him that pulling the ring would likely trigger an immediate explosion.

”Just throw it.”

The assistant hesitated for less than 0.1 seconds, immediately understanding Su Xiao’s intent.

”Have this iron pineapple, ha ha ha.”

The assistant flung the N-type Anti-tank Mine, and Su Xiao raised D·Assassin, ready to fire. As the N-type Anti-tank Mine flew into the fifth floor, sounds of alarm rose.

The unique gunfire of D·Assassin spread out, and a bullet left the muzzle, spiraling in the air, creating concentric air ripples.

The bullet struck the center of the N-type Anti-tank Mine, penetrating the metal layer, and fire erupted.

Boom!

The deafening explosion echoed from the fifth floor; Su Xiao shielded his face with one hand.

Clang, clang...

The sound of twisting metal from below the fortress grew increasingly evident. Su Xiao was, of course, aware of the upper layers of the fortress sinking.

Meanwhile, sounds of artillery came from the battlefield outside the fortress. The Geya Alliance troops clearly heard the explosion inside the fortress and seized the opportunity to launch a night raid, making the battlefield as bright as day with large flares.

This was bad for the Sun Kingdom Soldiers in the trenches below the fortress. A massive change had occurred behind them, and the army of the Geya Alliance was now attacking from the front.
