Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 1403: Chapter 25: Unbelievable Allies

The bright illuminating flare fell from mid-air, and the sound of gunfire scattered sporadically. The enemy’s half-kilometer-long trench was dilapidated, filled with countless corpses.

Looking back, a large number of our soldiers had fallen on the charge path. In this chaotic battlefield, it’s impossible to calculate the exact number of enemy casualties.

Everyone believed this line of defense was almost impossible to breach, at least in the short term, yet in about fifteen minutes, the enemy’s defense broke.

Su Xiao’s side had a smooth battle. On the adjacent battlefield, Gulu was enduring bombardment from hundreds of tanks, as Gulu’s unit attracted the fire.

The victorious soldiers did not feel joy. Many battles awaited them; these soldiers gathered in groups of three or five near the tanks, either chatting or just sleeping on the ground.

Su Xiao jumped off the tank and was surprised to find that after winning a local battle, he could earn Reincarnation Paradise merit.

[Tip: The Hunter has assisted the Twelfth Regiment in capturing the enemy’s position. You receive 10 points of Reincarnation Paradise merit.]

points of Reincarnation Paradise merit seem small, but in reality, it’s a substantial gain. You have to know that killing two powerful enemy Contractors earns you 10 points of merit.

While capturing the enemy’s position, Su Xiao activated a war task. This task is somewhat special because it’s a subsequent reward for successfully integrating into the Slaughter Troop. If he had chosen to break out of jail earlier, he wouldn’t have been able to trigger this task.

[War Personal Main Task: Infiltrate Enemy Lines (Optional).]

Difficulty Level: Lv.36

Task Brief: Infiltrate enemy lines and kill Divine Envoy Du Bo · Yi Si

Task Information: The Hunter can locate Divine Envoy Du Bo · Yi Si’s position once every 3 hours; he is located in the enemy headquarters.

Task Deadline: 15 natural days.

Task Reward: Golden Abilities Points ×2.

Task Penalty: Reincarnation Paradise merit -500. After this world ends, any negative merit will deduct Paradise coins at a rate of 1000 per negative merit point. If the coins are insufficient, equivalent value equipment will be deducted.

...

Undoubtedly, this is a highly dangerous task. Su Xiao needs to infiltrate the enemy headquarters and thus enter the Sun Kingdom’s territory.

The so-called war personal main task is actually similar to main tasks in other worlds. This task has a lengthy period of 15 natural days.

According to Su Xiao’s experience, the War World becomes a Contractor free-for-all in the later stages, generally not involving indigenous forces, but rather battles between Contractors.

If Su Xiao accepts this task and completes it successfully, the Contractor free-for-all won’t be far off.

Su Xiao now has two choices: One is to abandon this task and continue to gain benefits on the battlefield, and the other is to accept this task, infiltrate enemy lines, and kill the enemy’s Divine Envoy, equivalent to killing a Vice Admiral, a challenging feat.

The reward for this task is unexpectedly generous for Su Xiao. He once gained 1 point of Golden Abilities Points, which can enhance any mastered ability, including MAX Level abilities.

point is worth the risk; 2 points are worth staking life for. Absolute Demon Physique, Supreme Blade, Spirit Shadow Physique, Core of Devour, any of these MAX abilities advancing two levels would result in a qualitative change, especially Core of Devour, which directly affects the speed of Blue Steel Shadow development. Blue Steel Shadow Ability is one of Su Xiao’s core combat capabilities.

After a moment of contemplation, Su Xiao walked over to a slain enemy soldier and stripped the coat off the corpse.

”Officer, are we going to regroup with the others?”

The assistant hurriedly approached.

”No, you can return.”

”Eh?”

The assistant was slightly surprised.

”I have other matters to attend to. If you follow me, you’ll die in no more than 2 days, and you’ll be a burden. Let me give you a piece of advice: cherish life and stay away from me.”

”Officer, you’re too straightforward.”

The assistant scratched her head. She had already witnessed Su Xiao’s non-human constitution, lifting a tank unarmed, a feat only the Sun Kingdom’s Divine Envoy could accomplish.

”Officer, if you’re going to go behind enemy lines, I can be of great use. Otherwise, Officer Skardine wouldn’t have sent me, and I also personally want to go behind enemy lines.”

”No, you don’t.”

Su Xiao took off his black military uniform and changed into the Sun Kingdom’s gray military uniform. Military uniforms are never flashy; concealment is prioritized, followed by comfort and aesthetics.

”According to Mr. Skardine, you don’t seem very good with the Sun Kingdom’s accent?”

The assistant chuckled.

Su Xiao looked at the assistant, who then rambled in a bunch of Sun Kingdom dialects. Su Xiao could understand but couldn’t speak them.

”See, I’m very useful.”

”Once we’re behind enemy lines, you’re on your own.”

Su Xiao took steps towards the distant forest.

”Wait for me, don’t bully me for having short legs.”

The assistant quickly followed, and on the way, she forcibly grabbed a few bags of compressed biscuits. The soldier who was robbed was quite aggrieved but couldn’t confront this infamous figure in the Twelfth Regiment.

In the forest, Su Xiao activated the tracking function, and a red dot appeared in his field of vision, indicating the direction of the Sun Kingdom.

Su Xiao had 15 days to kill the enemy’s Divine Envoy. First, he needed to determine the envoy’s location, followed by tracking and timing selection.

Receiving the tactical map handed over by the assistant, Su Xiao drew a few circles on the map based on the red dot in his vision.

The enemy headquarters couldn’t possibly be inside the war zone. Though this world’s communication isn’t considered too behind, someone of the Divine Envoy’s rank, equivalent to a Vice Admiral, would not show up on the battlefield.

Therefore, Su Xiao initially targeted several large cities on the Sun Kingdom border. He first had to traverse half the battlefield before entering the Sun Kingdom.

That early morning, in a swamp area.

Thousands of Sun Kingdom soldiers were marching through the swamp, singing military songs with high war spirit.

Glug glug...

Bubbles rose from the muddy water of the swamp. A few minutes later, a small head poked out of the muddy water. After confirming no one was around, the assistant climbed out of the mud.

”Phew~ Why did I end up in the mud.”

The assistant wiped the mud off her mouth and looked up at a big tree where Su Xiao was sitting on a tree branch.

”Keep moving forward.”

”Officer, I need a bath. This mud will arouse unnecessary suspicion and increase the risk of being discovered. From a tactical standpoint, I...”

”Shut up, 20 seconds.”

The assistant quickly charged towards a pool, quickly stripping naked. Just a few minutes ago, Su Xiao had discovered a crocodile in that clear pool...

”Ha!”

A scream echoed, and the assistant threw the crocodile ashore from the pool.

”Damn, it wasted my valuable 7 seconds. Die, die, die.”

The assistant’s fair little feet stomped fiercely on Brother Crocodile, who already had at least a dozen small, guardless knives stuck in him.

Soon, carrying wet clothes and wearing only her undergarments, the assistant followed behind Su Xiao, with some leaves stuck to her bare feet.

...

Outside the Geya Alliance border, on an icefield.

The cold wind howled, and snow fell heavily.

”Hold on, don’t give up!”

A female Contractor kicked a Icefield Wolf, and their six-person reconnaissance team was responsible for searching for the World Source everywhere.

”There are too many of them; today... we might die here.”

Among the six Contractors, four were males, and two females stood back to back, surrounded by over a hundred Icefield Wolves. Among the female Contractors was Su Xiao’s acquaintance, Mizaki.

”Howl~”

A wolf howl came from afar, and at the sound, the Icefield Wolf Pack surrounding the six Contractors stopped their attack and made way, lowering their heads.

Crunch, crunch...

Sharp claws pierced solid ice. Hearing this sound, Mizaki swallowed nervously while gripping twin daggers and wearing ultra-short denim shorts. These Icefield Wolves were too fast and cooperated seamlessly. Even if she gave her all, she could at most take a dozen Icefield Wolves down with her.

Mizaki followed the source of the sound, her mouth slightly ajar and eyes filled with disbelief.

”S-siberian Husky?!”

The female Contractor next to Mizaki cried out in shock, her voice almost distorted.

”Grr...”

The surrounding Icefield Wolves growled softly in their throats.

”Woof!”

The instant bark silenced the hundred-strong Icefield Wolves, each lowering their heads.

Running sounds came from the icefield. In a short span, around a thousand Icefield Wolves appeared, the largest of them blind in one eye, with a scar over it.

This time, all five Contractors besides Mizaki fell into despair.

”Has it... become the Wolf King??”

Mizaki’s mouth twitched violently, as she imagined a whole scene in her mind.
